HYATT, LUCY A. - age 67 of Clinton,
SILCOX, BIRDY ANNIE - age 69, of Jacksboro
HYATT, LUCY A. - age 67 of Clinton, passed away Monday evening, July at the
Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Her passing was peaceful surrounded by
her family. She was born in Rogersville, Tennessee on March 11, 1938. After
moving with her family to Oak Ridge area in the early 1940's, the family moved to
Claxton where she went to Claxton Grammar School & Clinton High School. She
worked for 7-12 & WBXT for 29 years. She had worked in many areas of the plant
and when she passed away was working as a respiratory technician. She loved
her job and over the years of working in the plant had made many, many good
friends. She had been in declining health for many years but her keen sense of
humor and her grandson, Jeremy Hyatt, kept those green eyes flashing and those
dimples shining. She loved to cook and take care of Jeremy. She has been
Jeremy's guardian for the past few years and was very happy when he came to live with
her. As ill as she has been the past few months, she told me the day Jeremy
graduated from high school this past June was one of the happiest days of her
life. She was preceded in death by: parents, E. E. & Vernia Antrican, 1985,
2004; her son, Scott Hyatt in 1991; & brother, Joe Antrician in 1993. She is
survived by: son, Kenneth D. Hyatt; grandson, Jeremy S. Hyatt; sisters, Mrs.
Shirley (Chuck) McCluskey & Mrs. Maxine (Rick) Duarte, all of Clinton; brothers, J.
D. (Wanda) of Bluff City, Tennessee & Gary Wayne (Kathy) Antrican of Powell;
sister-in-law, Mrs. Jo Ann Antrican of Clinton; very special nephew, Dustin
Wayne Antrican of Clinton who spent many happy days & nights with Lucy and her
boys when he was growing up; nieces, Linda Raby, Lisa Pacheco, Jan Antrican, &
Julia Starnes; and other nephews, James Antrican, Brian Bowman & Jim Antrican.
As per her wishes she will be cremated. A memorial service will be held for
her on Friday, July 22, 2005 at 8:00 pm at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in
Clinton. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm on Friday. In lieu of flowers, please
make any memorial tributes to her in the form of contributions to the Jeremy
S. Hyatt College Fund at K25 Federal Credit Union Bank on Illinois Avenue in
Oak Ridge or to a charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank Dr. David
Stanley, Dr. Charles Dye & Dr. Charles Gholson for the care and support they
gave Lucy during the past few months of her illness. We also wish to thank the
staff of the Emergency Room and the Critical Care Unit at Methodist Medical
Center for their compassion and help when our family needed it. Holley-Gamble
Funeral Home in Clinton in charge of all arrangements.
