Roger Clemmons Begley, 55, of Oak Ridge,

Theresa Waytho, 92, of Oak Ridge,
Roger Clemmons Begley, 55, of Oak Ridge, died Thursday, May 12, 2005, at the
Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was born March 9, 1950, in Oak
Ridge, the son of Clemmons Henry Begley and Jaynell Hudson Begley. Mr. Begley
retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority, where he was a welder. He was a member
of Calvary Baptist Church. He enjoyed deer hunting and was an avid NASCAR
fan. At one time, Mr. Begley raced his own cars at the Atomic Speedway. He was
preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Begley is survived by his wife of 34
years, Sharon Rose Blalock Begley; his son, Dustin Roger Begley; his daughter,
Tiffany Packard and husband, Joel; his sister, Carolyn Jean Mayes and husband,
Arnold; and five grandchildren, Loren Jade Packard, Joey Packard, Cody Skeen and
Jayden Dustin Begley, all of Oak Ridge, and Lorelei Marie Strahm of Knoxville.
The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at Weatherford Mortuary
with the Rev. Steve McDonald officiating. The graveside service and burial
will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will
receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. The family requests
that any memorials be in the form of contributions to the American Heart

Emmett "Mike" Leslie Moore Jr., 62, of Hurst, Texas, a retired sales manager,
died Wednesday, May 4, 2005. He was born Nov. 3, 1942, in Marion, Va., to
Emmett and Virginia Moore, and was the second of their six children. Mr. Moore
graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1960, before attending college at East
Tennessee State University. He spent his career as a successful sales manager
before retiring as the director of sales for Bayer Diagnostics in 2002. Mr.
Moore enjoyed classic cars and was an avid hunter, but being "Pawpaw" to his 11
grandchildren brought him the greatest joy in life. He spent many Saturdays
shuffling from one game to the next. His family said Mr. Moore was comfortable
with people of all walks of life. He never met a stranger and his enthusiasm for
life was contagious. He was loved by many and will be missed by more. In
addition to his parents, Mr. Moore is survived by his wife, Cindy Moore; his
children, Michele Flowers and husband, Kendall, Tony Moore and wife, Shannon, and
Matthew Moore and wife, Shelley; his grandchildren, Shere', Toni, Dylan,
Abigail, Charlie, Chase, Samantha, Jake, Shea, Clayton and Talley; his sisters,
Becky Wolfe and husband, Jack, and Trisha Burgess and husband, Jimmy; his
brothers, Larry Moore and wife, Vicki, Rodney Moore and wife, Marion, and Dave Moore;
and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m.
Saturday, May 21, 2005, at Grace Lutheran Church, 131 West Gettysburg Ave. in Oak
Ridge. Visitation with family and friends will began at the church at 1 p. m.
Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to any
local chapter of the American Diabetes Association.
Lonzie Phillips, 87, of Oliver Springs, died Friday, May 13, 2005, at the
Lifecare Center of Morgan County in Wartburg. The son of William and Annie Jones
Phillips, he was born May 9, 1918, in the New River Community of Anderson
County. He had also lived in Harlan County, Ky., for 12 years before moving back
to this area. Mr. Phillips was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church in
Oliver Springs. He was a retired coal miner and builder. Mr. Phillips was
preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Freda Gilbert; his parents; two brothers,
Fred Phillips and Early Phillips; and by a sister-in-law, Eula Phillips. He
is survived by three sisters, Mary C. Seiber of LaFollette, Daffie Seiber of
Kingston, and Margaret Jones and husband, Andy, of Wartburg; two sisters-in-law,
Verna Phillips of Oliver Springs, and Lucille Brock of Evarts, Ky.; and by
several nieces and nephews and extended family members. The funeral will be at 8
p.m. Monday, May 16, 2005, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver
Springs with the Rev. Ralph Wilson and the Rev. Don Daugherty officiating. A
graveside service and burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, at the
Phillips Cemetery in New River. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Monday at the funeral home. Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs in charge of
arrangements.
Lula Gragg Terry, 84, formerly of Oak Ridge, died Thursday, May 12, 2005, at
Mabry Health Care and Rehab Center in Gainesboro, Tenn. The daughter of Ernest
Gragg and Linnie Bilbrey Gragg, she was born May 28, 1920, in Putnam County,
Tenn. Mrs. Terry was a member of First Christian Church in Oak Ridge, a
volunteer at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, former secretary of the Oak
Ridge Woman's Club, and office manager for Kramer Shoes in Oak Ridge. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodford Terry,
who died Feb. 21, 1995; two sisters, Anna Roberson and Mabel Gragg; one
brother, Hubert Gragg; one nephew, Thomas Gragg; and one niece, Juanita Railey. Mrs.
Terry is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, David Philip and Joanne
Terry of Signal Mountain; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Lee Richardson
of Gainesboro; and four grandchildren, Jennifer Terry Boutwell and husband,
Josh, Dana Terry, Elliot Richardson, and Graham Richardson. The funeral was held
at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2005, at Paran United Methodist Church in Overton
County, with the Rev. Chris Haynes officiating. The burial followed in the
Paran Cemetery. The family received friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the
church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Terry Family
Cemetery Fund, in care of Jean Ann Norris, 1146 Viking Drive, Knoxville, TN
37932-2586 Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro is in charge of arrangements
Theresa Waytho, 92, of Oak Ridge, died Friday, May 13, 2005, at Briarcliff
Health Center. Born June 23, 1912, in New York City, she later moved to
Tennessee in 1975. Mrs. Waytho was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Waytho; and
brother, Joseph D'Andre. Survivors include her son, Kenneth Waytho and wife,
Patricia, of Clinton; daughter, Karen Hart and husband, Andrew, of Knoxville;
grandson, Jonathan Hart and wife, Martha, of Knoxville; and
great-grandchildren, Megan and Jordan Hart, also of Knoxville. A memorial service will be held
at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses,
470 Oak Ridge Turnpike, Oak Ridge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made
to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 470 Oak Ridge Turnpike, Oak Ridge, TN
37830. Cremation Options Inc., Knoxville, is in charge of arrangements.
