Evelyn Bailey, age 69 of Jacksboro passed away May 2 at the St. Mary's
Hospice in Knoxville. She is survived by the caring workers of Reaches who cared for
and loved her as their family.Funeral Services were May 4 in the Chapel of
Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Dabney officiating. Internment was
in Campbell Memorial Gardens. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the
arrangements.


Jerry Baxter Disney, age 71 of Lake City passed away April 29 at his
residence. He was born Oct. 5, 1933 in Anderson County. He was a member of Willowbrook
Baptist Church. He retired from Vinylex with 32 years service, retired from
the Army with 21 years of service, Past High Priest of the Royal Arch Chapter
#155, a 31 year member of the Coal Creek Lodge #492, where he was former Master
and Past Patron of the Coal Creek Eastern Star #226. He loved sports and all
outdoor activities. He coached little league football, baseball and
basketball.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time
with his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by his father, Joe Disney; mother and step-father, Dovie and Robert
Lively; son, Darryl Disney; daughter, Patricia Disney; brother, Floyd Disney;
sister; Charlene Disney; brother in law, John Lett. He is survived by his wife,
Barbara Disney of Lake City; sons, Ronnie Disney and wife, Sharon of Lake City,
John Disney and wife, Christy of Lake City; daughter in law, Amy Disney Blevins
and husband, Dan of St. Louis, MO: sister, Betty Lett of Clinton;
grandchildren, Rachel, Jamie and Kendra Disney of Lake City, Samantha, Mary, and Sarah
Disney of St. Louis, MO; nephew, Eddie Loving and wife, Brenda of Caryville;
great nephews, Eddie Loving, Jr. and wife, Michele of Clinton, Jody Lett of
Clinton; special friends, Don McGuire, J.C. Vowell, Chester Tackett and Charles
Stephens.
Funeral services were May 1 at the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.
Roger Leach officiating. Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association and the
American Diabetes Association. Hatmaker Funeral Home was in charge of the
arrangements.

Minnie E. Lawson, age 69 of , the Red Hill community, Cane Creek, KY passed
away April 26 at her daughter's home in Toledo, OH. She is survived by her
husband, George B. Lawson , Red Hill Community, Cane Creek, KY; daughter, Debbie
Strunk and husband, Danny of Toledo, OH; granddaughter, Jennifer Jennings and
husband, Patrick of Toledo, OH; great grandchildren, Patrick Jennings of
Toledo, OH and Kayla Jennings of Toledo, OH; sisters, Opal Strunk of Cane Creek, KY
and Betty Lawson of Cane Creek, KY; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends. Funeral services were April 29 at the Harp Funeral Home with the
Rev. Durand Dixon officiating. Interment was in the Pet-Lawson Cemetery. Harp
Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Marie Estelle Ogg of LaFollette passed away May 1 at St. Mary's Health and
Rehab Center of LaFollette. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving
mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Ogg, Sr; brothers, Ed, Lewis,
Woody, and Howard; sisters, Della, Ethel, and Sarabeth; grandson, Marty Lee
Ogg, daughter-in-law, Jimmie Gail Ogg. She is survived by her daughters, Patsy
Hope and husband Edward of Aiken, SC, Carolyn O'Cansler of Jacksboro; sons,
Jess Ogg, Jr. of LaFollette, Clifford Ogg and wife Shirley of Jacksboro, John Ogg
and wife Sheila of LaFollette, Jerry Ogg and wife Holly of Brema, Germany,
and Ricky Ogg and wife Cindy of LaGrange, GA; 18 grandchildren, 16
great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were May 4 at the Walters Chapel with Rev. Wesley Dupuy and
Rev. O.P. Byrd officiating. Interment was in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
Walters Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Clearice Fortner Patterson, age 69, passed away April 26 at her home in
Speedwell. She was born May 25, 1935 in Claiborne County. She was a member of the
Friendship Baptist Church. She loved to garden and work in her flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, General and Verdi Miracle; first
husband, Frank Fortner; brother, Bill Miracle; sisters, Geneva Brooks, Bessie
Rains and Edna Burchfield; infant daughter, Elizabeth Fortner. She is survived
by her husband, Harold Patterson; daughter, Phyllis Fortner; son, Jerry
(Deborah) Fortner, Damon Fortner, all of Speedwell; Tony Fortner of Tazewell, Larry
(Mary Lou) Fortner of Speedwell, Kenneth (Mary) Fortner of Tazewell;
grandchildren, Lisa Staley of Rutlege, Rhonda Drummonds of Speedwell, Johnny Dean
Manning of Tazewell, Christina Cutcher of FLA, Renee Fortner of Knoxville, Jerry
Alan Fortner, April Gulley, both of Speedwell, Rodney Fortner of New Mexico,
Crystal Fortner, Elizabeth Fortner, both of Pineville, KY; Danielle Fortner of
Harlan, KY, Ashley Fortner of Speedwell, Buzz and Brandy Collett of Tazewell,
Heather Fortner of Rutledge, Gary Bunch, Jr., Brandon Bunch and Marie Dummit;
nine great grandchildren; very special nephew, Sam Burchfield; sisters, Dora
McCartt of GA, Polly Evans and Dolly Shiflet, both of Speedwell.
Funeral services were April 29 at the Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev.
Mark Fultz and Rev. Tim Cosby officiating. Interment was in the Loy Cemetery.

Jesse James Phillips, age 41 of LaFollette passed away May 3 at his home. He
was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by mother, Faye Oma
Simpson. He is survived by his father, Luther Byrd Phillips of Mishawaka, IN;
brothers, Johnny Phillips of Frisco, TN, Luther Phillips of Atlanta, GA, Eddie Moose
of Andrews, NC; sisters, Marilyn Kay Gray of LaFollette, Lisa Phillips of Elk
Hart, IN; special nephew, Greg Wilson of LaFollette; several nieces and
nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. No services are planned at this
time. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Rita Sue Poston, age 62 of LaFollette passed away April 28 at her home. She
was of the Baptist faith. She loved to play her guitar and sing. She was loved
very much and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her father,
Fisher Bunch; mother, Laura Bunch; brother, Randy Bunch; sisters, Laura Oaks,
Freda Lively, and Viola Welch. She leaves behind her husband of 47 years,
Robert (Fiddle) Poston; children, Brenda Bean, Edna Rutherford, Elwood Poston and
Cindy Delk all of LaFollette; seven grandchildren and eight great
grandchildren; sisters, Crickett Short of OH, Gladys Moser of Lake City, Rose Lively of
Caryville; brother, Freeman Bunch of IN; several nieces and nephews and a host
of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were May 1 in the Chapel of
Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Ovid Bolton officiating. Internment was in
Victory Cemetery. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the
arrangements.

Viva Lucille Tidwell, age 84 of Lake City passed away April 30 at the
Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She was born April 5, 1921 in Anderson County.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lake City where she was activ
e in the Senior Group and enjoyed going on trips. She was preceded in death by
her husband, Clarence Tidwell; infant son, Gerald Tidwell; parents, Ocle Omer
and Sarah Catherine Wallace Loy. She is survived by her sister, Gwen Hinds of
Baton Rouge, LA; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were May 2 at
the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brian Courtney officiating.
Interment was in the Leach Cemetery. Hatmaker Funeral Home was in charge of the
arrangements.

Alice D. Ward, age 74 of Jacksboro passed away April 29, at U.T. Medical
Center in Knoxville. She was a member of the Shield of Faith Community Church and
formerly employed by Imperial Reading Corporation for over 22 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Elizabeth Green;brother,
Charlie Green. She is survived by her son, Kenny Ward and wife, Helen of
Knoxville; daughters, Brenda Gail Ward of Jacksboro, Marsha Wilson and husband,
Kelly of LaFollette; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; sister, Jean
Violet; brother, Danny Green, both of Jacksboro; special friends, Famah Green
and David Fogelsanger; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside services and interment were May 2 at Campbell Memorial Gardens with
Rev. Gary Moser officiating. Walters Funeral Home was in charge of the
arrangements.
Lee Ward, Jr., age 72 of Jellico passed away April 29 at the Jellico
Community Hospital. He was born Sept. 16, 1932 at Pioneer, the son of the late Lee
Ward and Ella Lunsford Ward. He is survived by his daughters, Joyce Spence of
Cincinnati, OH, Loretta Ward of Williamsburg, KY, Sandra Ward of Phoenix, AZ;
sons, Randy Ward and Everett Ward, both of Williamsburg, KY, Robert Ward of
LaFollette; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; sisters, Martha
Richardson of Jellico; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services
were May 2 at the Cox and Son Chapel with the Rev. Billy Carpenter
officiating. Interment was in the Douglas Cemetery. Cox and Son Funeral Home was in
charge of the arrangements.

Woodrow Wilson, age 87 of Manchester, MD, formerly of Jacksboro passed away
April 16. He was a retired coal miner. He was preceded in death by his wife,
Geneva Wilson; parents, Harrison and Rosa Wilson; daughters, Barbara Jean Abell.
He is survived by his daughters, Amy Studnitz of Manchester, MD and Nancy
Pully of Maryville; son, Charles Young Wilson; 11 grandchildren.
Graveside services and interment were April 29 in the Campbell Memorial
Gardens with Mr. Michael Abell officiating. Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the
arrangements.

Douglas Lee Yancey, Sr., age 37 of Pioneer passed away April 26 at the St.
Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. He is survived by his daughter,
Crissy; sons, Douglas Lee, Jr. and Rickie Yancey of LaFollette; mother and father,
Polly and Jerry Yancey, Sr. of Pioneer; sisters, Terrie Campbell and Jessica
Yancey of Pioneer, Mary Bolton of LaFollette; brothers, Jerry Yancey, Jr. and
Michael Yancey of Columbia, TN. Funeral services were April 29 at the Llewellyn
Funeral Home with the Rev. Francis Dople, Jr. and Rev. Ronnie Thomas
officiating. Interment was in the Valley View Cemetery. Llewellyn Funeral Home was in
charge of the arrangements.
