Kelly Moffitt, 59, formerly of
Elyria, died Wednesday at Alien
Memorial Hospital, Oberlin, after
suffering a heart attack at his
son's home in Wellington.
Mr. Moffitt was born in La Fol-
lette, Tenn. He had lived in the
Elyria for 40 years until returning
to Tennessee in 1993. He. lived in
Rockwood, Tenn., at the time of
his death.
He worked for the, USS/Kobe
Steel Co. in Lorain for 28 years
until retiring in 1992.
Mr. Moffitt was a member of
"Elyria Eagles Aerie 431".
He was an avid hunter and fish-
erman, and he loved playing
cards.
Mr. Moffitt is survived by his
wife of 41 years, Altie (nee Bowling)
;daughters Sharon Moffitt of
Robbins, Tenn.,Sheila F. Carroll
of Oneida, Tenn.,and Cindy L.
Cogar of Wellington; sons Sherman
of Avon, James R. of Wellington,
Eveart M. of Wakeman and
Kelly W. of Elyria; 24 grandchildren;
a brother, William R.; and
sisters Mary S. Sexton, Ellen C.
Sexton and Nancy L.Delph.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, James E. and Arrie; sisters
Sarah L. Moffitt, Nina M. Moffitt
and Janice L. Moffltt; and a
brother, Eveart.
Services will be Monday in the
Davis Funeral Home, Harriman,
Tenn.
Burial will be in the Smither's
Family Cemetery, Robbins, Tenn.
The Laubenthal-DeCarlo
Funeral Home, Elyria, is handling
local arrangements.
