FITZGERALD, LOUIS MARSHALL 77, of Oak Ridge,
RHODES, MELVIN - age 78 of Clinton, TN,
FITZGERALD, LOUIS MARSHALL 77, of Oak Ridge, died Monday, September 27, 2004
at the NHC Health Care Center. He was born May 3, 1927 in Burnside, KY, the
son of John Marshall and Lena Hardwick Fitzgerald. Mr. Fitzgerald served with
the US Army from 1944 to 1947. He retired in 1993 from Martin Marietta Energy
Systems after 42 years of service. He was a member of Robertsville Baptist
Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: brother, Oscar Lee
Fitzgerald; and grandson, Christopher Neil Smith. He is survived by:
daughters, Marsha Smith of Oak Ridge and Linda Gover and husband John of
Elizabethtown, KY; sister, Dora Gover and husband Robert of Bowling Green, KY; grandson,
Michael Jeremy Smith and wife Melanie of Oak Ridge; great grandchildren, Sydney
Smith and Caitlyn Smith of Oak Ridge and several nieces and nephews. Funeral
services will be Thursday, September 30, 2004 at 8:00pm at Weatherford Mortuary
with Dr. Michael Prince officiating. Graveside services are Friday, 10:00am,
in the Garden of Valor at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family asks that any
memorials be in the form of contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, 2200
Sutherland Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37919. The family will receive friends on
Thursday from 6:00-8:00pm at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge. An on-line guest

RHODES, MELVIN - age 78 of Clinton, TN, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 25,
2004 at the Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, TN. Melvin was a WWII
Veteran, and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his first wife Helen
Efrid Rhodes; second wife Judy Rhodes; parents Charles and Gladys Rhodes.
Survivors, son, Michael and wife Roslind Rhodes of Louisville, TN; daughters, Vicki
and husband Chad Hunckler of Melbourne, FL, Angie Rhodes; brother, Charles
Rhodes of California; seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a host of
other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday,
Sept. 28, 2004, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN, funeral
service will be Wednesday, September 29 @ 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Jones
Mortuary with the Rev. David Triplett officiating. The interment will follow funeral
service on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004 at the Sunset Cemetery in Clinton, TN,
Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN, in charge of all arrangements.
