Sarah Elizabeth "Granny Lizzie" Ayers, age 92 of LaFollette went home to be
with her Lord on Aug. 5 at her home. She was a member of Stanfield Church of
God for 79 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Robert Ayers; infant daughter, Mary Lou and Essie Ayers;
parents, Andy and Lou McCullah; step-mother, Julie McCullah. She is survived
by her sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Andrew and Wanda Ayers, Dub and June
Ayers, Charles and Linda Ayers, all of LaFollette, Eddie and Jessie of Pioneer;
daughters and sons-in-law, Reecie and Bill Ridenour, Esther and Wayne Caldwell;
daughters, Dessie Smiddy and Ann Ayers, all of LaFollette, Leona Brinker of
Cincinnati, OH; brothers, Daneil Hoss McCullah, Williamsburg, KY and Nathan
McCullah of LaFollette; sister, Esther Bolton, LaFollette: 28 grandchildren and
four great grandchildren; special cousin, Ed McCullah; a host of other friends
and relatives. Funeral services were Aug. 8 at Stanfield Church of God with
Rev. Delmus Bruce and Rev. Ron Bruce officiating. Interment was in the Ayers
Cemetery. Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.



Clyde A. Cook, age 60 of LaFollette died Aug. 3 at the St.Mary's Medical
Center of Campbell County. He was of the Baptist Faith and an US Army Vietnam
veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Bessie Green Cook;
brothers, Clayton, Dorsey, Homer, and Benny Cook. He is survived by his wife,
Linda Cook; sons, Carl Cook and Danny Rogers; daughters, Rosetta, Leah, Jolene,
Lisa, and Susan; several grandchildren; brothers, Elmer Jr. and Raymond Cook
all of LaFollette, Robert and Clarence Cook both of OH, Roger and Edgar Cook
both of MI; sisters, Loretta Long and Lillie Garner both of Knoxville; several
nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services
were Aug. 7 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Nelson
officiating. Interment was in Cumberland View Cemetery.
Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Pastor Darryl Wayne Mefford, age 39 of LaFollette died Aug. 7 at St. Mary's
Medical Center of Knoxville. He was the pastor of Whitman Hollow Bible Church.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his rose garden. He was the Ping Pong and
Chess Player Champion. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, McKinley and
Bessie Wilson, Icie and Howard Byrd, and Alonzo Mefford. He is survived by;
wife, Terri Mefford; daughter, Jessie Mefford, daughter and son in law, Rissa
and Dustin Killion all of LaFollette; parents, Clifford and Delsie Wilson
Mefford of LaFollette; brother, Stanley and Sherri Wilson of Oh.; sister and
brother in law, Ginger and Wendell Bailey of Jacksboro; Brother in law, Howie Irwin
of Jacksboro, Karen and Gordon Irwin of Fayetteville, NC , Jason Irwin of
LaFollette; mother in law, Lillian Irwin of LaFollette, grandmothers in law, Ella
Pickel of LaFollette and Virginia Parrott of CA; aunts, Mari Lou Phillips,
Carrie Miller, Clairese and Bonnie Ford; uncles, Donald Lee, Emmett, Vaughn, and
Roger Wilson, Herman, J.R., and John Louis Mefford; several nieces and nephews
and host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services were Aug. 10 in the
Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Dodd and Pastor Richard
Jordan officiating. Interment was in Bakers Forge Cemetery. Martin Wilson
Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.


Tyler MacKenzie Monday, infant daughter of Amanda Burton and Jessie Monday of
Jacksboro, died Aug. 8 at U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville.

She is survived by her parents; grandparents, Wanda and Robert Burton and
Carolyn and Greg Monday all of Jacksboro; great-grandparents Virginia and Dorris
Sherron of Tiptonville and Brenda Monday of LaFollette; several aunts, uncles,
cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were Aug. 11 at
Walters Chapel with Rev. Hobart McCreary officiating. Interment was in the Hall
Cemetery. Walters Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.


Mary V. Morrison, age 79 of West Plains, Mo went home to be with the Lord on
June 29. She died at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born in
Pineville, KY on July 9, 1924 to Allie Smith Hoskins and Jessie K. Hoskins. She lived
in Kentucky until 1997 when she relocated to LaFollette. After the loss of
her companion or more than 50 years in April 2004, she moved to West Plains in
July 2003 to be near her daughter. She spent more than 30 years working in
retail sales, amassing many friends over the years. She always had a smile and
kind words for her customers. She loved the Lord and had attended United Freewill
Baptist Church since moving to West Plains. She was a very loving mother and
mamaw. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shirley Morrison; mother and
father; two brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Hammond and husband, Darr of West
Plains, MO; son, David Morrison and wife, Kathy of LaFollette; sister, Ruby Hupp,
Williamsburg, KY; several nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Dawn DeRoch, Mi,
Brent Byrd, MI, Fred Byrd, Ky, John Byrd, MO, Michael Byrd, LaFollette,
Elijah Morrison, Dane Morrison, and Eric Morrison, all of Ky, Channyn Morrison, Il,
Shawn Morrison, serving the United States Army at Fort Gordon, Ga, Nicole
Gravely, Ga; eight great grandchildren. Funeral services and interment were July
2 at the State Line Cemetery with Rev. Clarence Burton officiating. Memorial
contributions may be made to the State Line Cemetery and may be mailed to the
Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Robertson-Drago Funeral Home was in charge of the
arrangements.


Landon Lee Reynolds, age 15 days died Aug. 10 at the U.T. Medical Center in
Knoxville. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Lee Monday and
Francis Reynolds. He is survived by his parents, Farrell and Deanna Monday
Reynolds; twin brother, Austin Ray Reynolds; brother, Brent Allen Shepherd;
sisters, Kendra Nicole Shepherd, Amanda and Monica Reynolds, all of LaFollette;
grandmothers, Jane Monday, Speedwell and Kathleen Reynolds of LaFollette; great
grandmother, Lavenie Pierce; great grandfather, Millard Nelson, both of
LaFollette. Funeral services were Aug. 11 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home
with Rev. Leroy Braden officiating. Interment was in the Braden Chapel
Cemetery. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Carl E. Wilburn, age 59 of Jellico died Aug. 4 at Jellico Hospital. He was a
member of Woodson Gap Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents:
Kelly and Charity Wilburn. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Terry of
LaFollette, son, Johnathan Terry of Duff; daughter, Bridget Wilburn of LaFollette;
grandson, Andrew Terry of Duff; several nieces and nephews and a host of other
relatives and friends. Funeral Services were Aug. 6 in the chapel of Martin
Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Graham officiating. Interment was in Peabody
cemetery. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
