The Campbell Co. Courthouse is located in Jacksboro, TN. You would take
exit #134 off I-75 (Caryville/La Follette) and follow the road into
Jacksboro. I visited there with some TN relatives and the folks are so
friendly and helpful.
Yes, there is a Campbell Co., TN website. If you go to www.usgenweb.org,
that will give you the page that lists all states. Then, you can go to
specific counties from the state page.
Yes, there were many coal mines in 1900. Recently, there was a listing of
coal mine names on either this or the TN list. You might check at Rootsweb
through a search to see if you can find this, or maybe someone on this list
kept that e-mail. Unfortunately, I didn't.
