HENSLEY, VIOLETTE - age 73, of Norris,
SMITH, MRS. MARY - age 89 of LaFollette,


HENSLEY, VIOLETTE - age 73, of Norris, passed away Friday, July 9. 2004 at
her residence. She was a member of Norris First Baptist Church. She was
President of the Good Neighbors in Norris for years. She was a bookkeeper at Anderson
County after School Care for years. She was devoted to caring & helping others
in time of need. She loved greatly & was loved by all. Preceded in death by
parents, William & Lyda Johnston Ison. Survivors: daughter, Harriet Gamble of
Norris; son, William "Bill" Hensley & wife Penney of Hyannis, MA; brother,
Ronald Ison & wife Ginger of Johnson City; sister, Anne Riggs of Big Stone Gap,
Virginia; grandchildren, Angie Duncan & husband Kelly of Clinton, Matthew Gamble
of Knoxville, Sarah & husband Hal Lyday of Dallas, TX, David Hensley of
Heiskell, Alicia & husband Gary Hatmaker of Lake City; great grandchildren, Ben &
Gabi of Clinton, Spencer, Thomas & Ethan of Dallas, TX, Alexis & Tyler of Lake
City; numerous nieces & nephews; special friends, Brenda & Denny Klender of
Andersonville Nathan & Jamie Wadae of Andersonville. The family will receive
friends 5:00-7:00 PM, Sunday, July 11, 2004 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with
funeral services following in the chapel with Rev. David Seiber & Rev. T.D.
Hooker officiating. The family will have a private graveside service Monday at
Woodhaven Memorial Garden. The family has requested memorials be made to, Good
Neighbors of Norris, P.O. Box 452, Norris, TN 37828. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home
in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.

SMITH, MRS. MARY - age 89 of LaFollette, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2004
at Fort Sanders Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. She was a member of the
Glade Springs Baptist Church and preceded in death by husband, Frank Smith,
parents, Joseph and Lillie Powers, sisters, Alice Davis, Avis Prewitt, and an
infant sister and by brothers, Lloyd J. Powers, Walter Powers, and Cecil Powers.
Survivors: Children, Rev. James Smith, Ravenna, KY, Kenneth Smith, LaFollette,
Chester Smith, Felicity, OH, Naomi Sears, Williamsburg, KY, Lloyd Smith,
Andersonville, TN, Walter Smith, Dayton, OH, Myrtle Katz, Dayton, OH, Marie Drake,
Dayton, OH, Wayne Smith, Powell, TN and David Smith, Dahlonega, GA; 15
grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Ellen
Guy, Crossville, TN, and brothers, Edwin Powers and Clyde Powers of Indiana;
special friends, Harold Wilson and members of the Ladies Sunday School Class of
Glade Springs Baptist Church; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends. Funeral services Saturday 2 P.M. at the Glade Springs Baptist Church
with Rev. James Smith, Rev. Larry Watts and Rev. Don Reynolds officiating.
Interment Well Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Honorary
Pallbearer, Harold Wilson. The body will be moved to the church one hour before
services. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at Walters
Funeral Home. Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family
of Mrs. Mary Smith.
