ADAMS, JOHN QUINCY - age 87, a resident of the Oak Ridge and Claxton

ADAMS, JOHN QUINCY - age 87, a resident of the Oak Ridge and Claxton
community passed on unto our Lord on Thursday, May 13, at the Lake City Health Care
Center. He was born October 23, 1916 in Pearson, Georgia. John and his wife
Becky moved to Oak Ridge in the early forties and he was employed at the K25 Plant
for twenty-five years as a welder. He and his family moved to a new residence
on the Clinton highway and operated The Pig Trail Inn. They were well-known
in the area for their famous barbecue. He was preceded in death by his wife,
Rebecca Elizabeth (Becky) Corbitt Adams, parents: mother, Mary Jane Giddens
Adams, and father, Homer Columbus Adams, a brother, Chester Adams, and sisters,
Grace Vickers and Jennie Nichols. He is survived by three sons: Jack Adams and
wife Patsy; William (Billy) Adams and wife Alice; J.O. Adams and wife Sally;
nine grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren; sisters Dorothy Lauermore, and
Sue Nell Perry. The family conveys their heartfelt appreciation to those at the
Lake City Health Care. They went far beyond their duties to be a family to
him. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday with services to
follow at 8 PM at the Woodhaven Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens on Edgemoor Road.
The Rev. Charles Northrup will be officiating. Special singers: Freda Rose,
Glenna Pack, Carolyn Northrup, and Alicia Pack. Entombment will be held Sunday
at 3 PM. Pallbearers will be: A.C. Noe, Ricky Adkins, Mark Adams, Rodney
Brock, Daniel Adams, Terry Neal and Brandon Neal. Woodhaven Funeral Home and
Memorial Gardens is in charge of arrangements.

BRADSHAW, CARL E. - age 79 of LaFollette passed away Friday, May 14, 2004 at
the U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville. He was a deacon and member of West
LaFollette Baptist Church for 50 years. He was very active in the ministry for the
Lord and the people and retired from ORTEC in the field of electronics.
Funeral services will be 4 PM Sunday, May 16 at the West LaFollette Baptist Church
with Rev. Lynn Ray, Rev. Hobert McCreary and Brother Jerry Crutchfield
officiating. Interment will be 11 AM Monday in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will
receive friends from 2 to 4 PM Sunday before services at the church. In lieu of
flowers please make donations to West LaFollette Baptist Church Building Fund.

GROSS, EVA LOUISE - age 87 of Lake City, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2004
at St. Mary's Medical Center in Knoxville, Tenn. She was born December 5, 1916
in Campbell County, Tenn. to the late John and Martha Gaylor Duncan. Louise
was a member of the Longfield Baptist Church in Lake City where she was a Sunday
school teacher and sang in the choir. She was a loving mother, grandmother
and great grandmother who loved flower gardening. She is preceded in death by
her parents, first husband, Clyde Wilson; second husband of 41 years, Thomas
Gross, Sr.; son, Joe Mac Gross; 2 grandsons; 2 great grandsons; brothers, Kermit
Duncan and James B. Duncan; sisters, Mildred Hutson, Phyllis Sharp and Lucille
Champion. Survivors: daughters, Clydene Daniels Livengood & husband, Hal,
Knoxville, Tenn., Ruth Ellen Mitchell & husband, Jim, New Hampshire; son, Thomas
"Sonny" Gross, Jr. & wife, Pat, Clinton, Tenn.; brothers, Thomas Duncan,
Knoxville, Tenn., Dewayne Duncan, Ohio; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren;
several nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Saturday, May 15,
2004 at the Hatmaker Funeral Home. Funeral service 2 p.m. Sunday May 16, 2004
at the Longfield Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Foust, Rev. Roger Nance and
Rev. Mac Smith officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service Sunday May
16, 2004 at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake City, Tenn. Grandsons will serve as
pallbearers. Hatmaker Funeral Home of Lake City in charge of arrangements.

McDONALD, KASTER ALLEN - age 66, of Clinton, Tennessee passed away Friday,
May 14, 2004 at Windwood HealthCare Center in Clinton. He was of the Baptist
faith. He was preceded in death by parents, Leo & Toots McDonald; brother, Joe
McDonald. Survivors: daughter, Jill Moore & husband, Eddie, of Powell, Tn.; son,
Lucas Hurd & wife, Jennifer of Knoxville, Tn.; granddaughter, Rachel Nicole
Hurd; sister-in-law,Margaret McDonald of Clinton. Funeral service will be
Monday, May 17, 2004 at 7:00 PM at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with Rev. William
McCarter officiating. Memorials may be made to Windwood Health & Rehabilitation
Center, c/o Residential Activity Fund, 220 Longmire Road, Clinton, Tn.

PATT, ESTELLE ELIZABETH - age 78, of Heiskell, Tennessee passed away Friday,
May 14, 2004 at Baptist Hospital in Knoxville. She was member of Calvary
Baptist Church on Raccoon Valley Road in Heiskell. She was preceded in death by
daughter, Jackie Rae Patt; son, Donald Mart Patt; husband, Mart Patt; parents,
Leonard & Grace Yarnell; sister, Dorothy Warren. Survivors: daughters, Walta &
Tim Patt of Powell, Tn., Susan Datz of Knoxville,Tn.,Elizabeth & Harold
Stancell o fKnoxville, Tn., Irene Patt of Knoxville,Tn.; grandchildren, Marty & Doug
Patt, Andrew Patt, Bradley Stephen Franse, Chad & Tanner Irvine;
great-grandsons, Travis & Donnie Patt, Brayden Patrick Franse; sisters, Lola Patt of
Heiskell,Tn., Etta Mae Parker of Halls,Tn.; brothers, Rev. Leonard "Bud" & Betty

Saturday, May 15, 2004 from 5 to 7 PM at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home. Funeral
service Sunday, May 16, 2004 at 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church with the
Rev. Harold Ogle, Rev. George Miller, & Rev. Bud Yarnell officiating. Interment
will follow the service at Patt Family Cemetery on Raccoon Valley Road.. Body
will lie in state one hour before services at the church. Holley-Gamble

WALTERS, FLETCHER WILLIAM - age 94, of Clinton passed away Thursday, May 13,
2004 at his home. Fletcher was born July 1, 1909 in the Scarboro Community of
Anderson County, Tennessee where his family lived until removal for the
Manhattan Project in World War II. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in old
Scarboro community in Oak Ridge. He was the first of five children born to
Clarence Orestus Walters and Evelyn (Eva) Johnson Walters. Fletcher was one of
the oldest surviving graduates of Robertsville High School. After retiring from
Magnet Knitting Mills in Clinton, Fletch took up a successful career as a
carpenter and house painter. He had a rich sense of humor and enjoyed sharing
stories with friends and family. He was loved as a husband, father, grandfather,
brother and friend. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by
his wife of 64 years, Onelda Lockett Walters, his brother, Johnson Lawrence
(Bus) Walters, and sisters-in-law, Ruth Seiber Walters, Elizabeth (Libby)
Henriksen Walters, Elinor (Ellie) Wellman Walters, and Rosel Lockett May, and brother-
in-law, Roy Giltz Brown. He is survived by his daughter and caregiver, Judy
Walters Rhyne of Clinton; brothers and sister-in-law, Thomas & Irene Walters of
Clinton; and Herbert Walters of Solana Beach, California; beloved sister and
brother-in-law, Mary & Glen Taylor of Clinton and sister-in-law Wanda Lockett
Brown of Oak Ridge. He is also survived by grandchildren, Dru & Barbara Rhyne
of MacDonald, Tennessee; Shane & Ruth Sapp Rhyne of Knoxville; and Nikole
Rhyne of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Holly Rhyne and Tre Rhyne of Clinton and
Jennifer Dansby of MacDonald, Tennessee and great-great- granddaughter,
Madeline Rhyne and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to the Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center, 1901 Clinch
Avenue, Knoxville, Tn. 37916. Graveside services will be Sunday, May 16, 2004 at
3:00 PM at Sunset Cemetery with Rev. Sam Dean officiating. Friends may call
at their convenience at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Holley-Gamble
Funeral Home in Clinton in charge of all arrangements.

WILSON, RUTH - age 62 of Jacksboro passed away Thursday, May 13, 2004 at the
St. Mary's Medical Center in Knoxville. She was a member of the Cumberland
View Baptist Church. Ruth was a devoted wife, extraordinary mother and caring
friend to many. She was preceded in death by: parents, Dit and Laura Pressnell
Parker; brothers, Russell and Earl Parker; sister, Faye Cox. Mrs. Wilson is s
urvived by: husband, Bobby Ray Wilson of Jacksboro; daughter, Eva LeAnne Wilson
of Knoxville; brothers, Jack Parker of Goshen, Ohio, Jerry Parker of Knoxville;
sisters, Helen Tallent, of Knoxville, Jane Richardson of Hermitage, TN,
Margaret Price of Powell, Sandra Hardenbergh of Maryville; special sisters- in-law,
June Parker of Maryville, and Betty Parker of Jacksboro; several nieces and
nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services and
interment will be 11 am Saturday in Campbell Memorial Gardens with Rev. Andy Miller
officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Cumberland View
Building Fund at the People's National Bank of LaFollette, C/O Chris Cooper
