William D. "Bill" Aaron, 78, of Oak Ridge,

William D. "Bill" Aaron, 78, of Oak Ridge, died Sunday, March 28, 2004, at
Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born Dec. 7, 1925, in DuBois, Pa., he was
the son of Harold J. and Nelle Wilson Aaron. Mr. Aaron was a veteran of World
War II, serving with the U.S. Army, in combat areas including the Battle of
the Bulge, and was awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. While living in
Pennsylvania, he was involved in construction and sales. He moved to Oak Ridge
about 20 years ago and worked part-time as a carrier for the News Sentinel,
Knoxville. During this period, he worked nearly seven years without missing a
day's delivery. He also worked as a maintenance man for Auburn Hills apartments.
According to his family, Mr. Aaron was very involved in the lives of and loved
by his children, grandchildren, friends and neighbors at Auburn Hills. He is
survived by three sons, W. Scott Aaron and wife, Ann, of Clinton, David G.
Aaron and wife, Nancy, of Monroeville, Pa., and Michael J. Aaron and wife, Patti,
of St. Marys, Pa.; his daughter, Jean M. Boston and husband, Jack, of Port
Orange, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Beth Marsiglio and husband, Don, Ryan Aaron
and wife, Sara, Jill Troup and husband, Matt, Doug Aaron, Lynn Aaron, Adam
Aaron, Sara Aaron and Jeff Boston; and by five great-grandchildren. A memorial
service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 2004, at St. Stephen's Episcopal
Church with the Rev. Dr. Craig M. Kallio officiating. Burial will follow at the
Memorial Gardens of the church. The family requests that any memorials be in
the form of contributions to the Marlow Volunteer Fire Department, 1019 Oliver
Springs Highway, Clinton, TN 37716. Weatherford Mortuary is in charge of
arrangements.
Allen Wayne "Shorty" Brown, 48, of Oliver Springs, died Friday, March 26,
2004, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born July 5, 1955, in Loris,
S.C., he was the son of Henry David and Thelma Rebecca Brown of Clinton, N.C. Mr.
Brown had lived in Oliver Springs for the past 16 years and had worked as a
welder. His family said he was an avid Harley Davidson rider and fan. He was a
member of Beech Park Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam
War. He was preceded in death by a brother, Rodney Brown. In addition to his
parents, Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Karen Denise Brown; his daughter,
Sandy Hedrick and husband, Matthew, of Corona, Calif.; his son, Cody Allen
Brown, of Oliver Springs; his grandchildren, Kayla Hedrick and Molly Hedrick; two
brothers, Danny Brown and Mark Brown and wife, Susan, all of Clinton, N.C.;
his sister, Jackie Kratzer and husband, Mike, of Clinton, N.C.; his
mother-in-law and father-in-law, George "Jiggs" and Mae Fritts of Oliver Springs; his
brother-in-law, Doug Fritts and wife, Beth, of Los Angeles, Calif.; a special
cousin, Rusty Brown, of Orlando, Fla.; and by several nieces, nephews, cousins and
extended family members. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Monday, March 29,
2004, at Beech Park Baptist Church in Oliver Springs with the Rev. Robbie Leach
officiating. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, at Adcock
Cemetery in Coalfield. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Monday at the church. Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs is in charge of
arrangements.
Samuel Carl Davis Jr., 86, of LaFollette, died Sunday, March 28, 2004, at
Veterans Hospital in Mountain Home, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Davis was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Turner
Davis; his parents, Samuel Carl Davis Sr. and Beatrice Ridenour Davis of
LaFollette; and by a nephew, Michael York, of Morristown. Mr. Davis is survived by
two daughters, Carla Burno of Houston, Texas, and Michelle Nelson of Oliver
Springs; twin brothers, Andrew Davis of Clinton and Edward Davis, both of
Knoxville; two sisters, Betty Lou Green of Oak Ridge and Marjorie York Allsup of
White Pine; and by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A
graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 1, 2004, at Bakers Forge
Cemetery in LaFollette with the Rev. James Taylor officiating. Family and friends
will meet at 9:45 a.m. Military rites will be conducted by East Tennessee
Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday,
March 31, at Mynatt Funeral Home in Knoxville.
Ethel Juanita Brown Jones, of Sardis, died Sunday, March 28, 2004, at NHC
HealthCare of Oak Ridge. Prior to her retirement in 1982, Mrs. Jones was employed
for 32 years at the Salant Corp. in Lexington, Tenn. Her family said she will
be greatly missed by her family and loved ones. She was preceded in death by
her husband, Johnny Hastings Jones, and by a sister, Beulah Elizabeth Brown
Kelley. Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughter and only child, Linda Gayle Jones
Boroughs and husband, Gerald Brooks Boroughs, of Oak Ridge; and by three
grandchildren, Jon Brooks Boroughs of Johnson City, Craig Bryant Boroughs of
Keystone, Colo., and Jilleah Gayle Boroughs of Oak Ridge. She is also survived by
two sisters, Stella Mae Brown Essary and Billie Claire Brown Keller, both of
Memphis; five nephews and nieces, Dr. B.J. Kelley and wife, Carolyn, Robert
Vaughn Keller and Alicia Claire Keller Lax and husband, Randy, all of Memphis,
Marilyn Jannette Essary of Cumming, Ga., and Sandra Annette Essary Sillay and
husband, Steve, of Suwanee, Ga.; and by a double first cousin, Ruby Ann Brown
Blankenship, of Lexington. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 2004,
at Sardis Baptist Church. Her daughter will deliver the eulogy. Burial will
follow at Sardis Cemetery. The family requests that any memorials be in the
form of contributions to Sardis Baptist Church, P.O. Box 69, Sardis, TN
38371-0069, or to the Sardis Senior Citizens Center, P.O. Box 85, Sardis, TN
38371-0085. The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, at
Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington.
Norman Douglas Farrow, 61, of Oliver Springs, died Monday, March 29, 2004, at
Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Weatherford Mortuary is in charge of
arrangements, which were incomplete at press time.
