MOORE, RUTH ELIZABETH - 85, of Oak Ridge, died Saturday, January 3, 2004 at
NHC Health Care Center. Born September 5, 1918 in Lafollette, TN and daughter
of the late Daniel and Febbie Taylor Moore. Worked at the Alexander Motor Inn
for approximately 30 years as a housekeeper and then another 17 years at the
Holiday Inn. Member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Preceded in death by:
her husband, Lonas Allen Moore in 1938. Survived by: son, Robert Charles
"Rabbit" Allen of Oak Ridge; foster-son, Harry Young Jr of Kingsport; brother,
Robert L. Moore of Detroit, MI; sister, Susie Mae Gilliard of Oak Ridge; special
nieces, Linnette Thomas of Detroit, MI, Tommie Stevens of Oak Ridge, Victoria
Parris and husband Glenn of Chattanooga, Crystal Frye and husband Lamont and
Loreal Frye, all of Memphis, Nikki Conyers of Burlington, NC; nephews, John
Gilliard, Ladarian Frye and Toronzo Frye, all of Memphis; special grand-niece and
care-giver, Bonnie Teasley and her daughter, Cici Teasley of Oak Ridge; and
great great nephew, Tevin Lee of Oak Ridge. Funeral services will be held on
Thursday, January 8, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church
with Rev. T. L. Mims officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00- 2:00 p.m. at the
Church. Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge, in charge of the arrangements.

POWELL, MRS. REMA DIXIE - age 88 of Wartburg passed away Tuesday, January 6,
2004 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was a member of Liberty
Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Gus E. and Iola
Heidle; husband, Asa Powell; sister, Rosa M. Heidle. She is survived by: her
sister, Willie Mae Perry of Wartburg; daughter, Carolyn and husband Jerry Beene of
Wartburg; son, Danny and wife, Jolean Powell of Morristown; grandchildren, Eric
Schaefer and Stephanie Schaefer of Wartburg, Angela Helton, Kelly Powell, and
Erica Powell of Morristown; four great grandchildren; many loving friends.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 7, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. at
Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg. Funeral services will begin at 8 p.m. with Bro.
David Acres officiating. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, 11
a.m. in Wartburg City Cemetery.
REDMOND, LISA SHULTZ - age 36, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, January 6,
2004 at her residence. Lisa's life was too short, but her love and kindness
touched many. Lisa's sparkling blue eyes and adorable smile greeted everyone she
met. Lisa's love of animals, "Tinkerbelle, Zar, Pretty Girl, Ashley and Weazy"
brought her the nickname of Ellie Mae by her husband and soul mate of only
three short years, Randy Redmond. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist
Church. Graduate of Clinton High School in 1984 and worked at Y-12 B.W.X.T. until
her illness. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Clyde & Helen Shultz;
and much loved sister-in-law, Terri Shultz. Survivors: husband, Randy Redmond
of Clinton, TN.; brothers, Clyde "Buddy" Shultz of Clinton, TN., Larry and
wife, Charlotte Shultz of Clinton, TN.; sisters, Rose Fox of Cookeville, TN.;
Carolyn and husband, Charles Nichols of Houston, TX.; special niece, Michelle and
husband, Ryan Nichols, of Clinton, TN; other niece, Raven Jakubowski of
Cookeville, TN.; nephew, Jeff & wife, Jill Shultz, of Indiana; mother-in-law,
Margaret Redmond of Clinton, TN. who helped in caring for Lisa during her illness
and loved her as her own child. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 8,
2004 at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with
Rev. Bill McDaniel officiating. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Interment will be Friday, January 9, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist
Church Cemetery. Holley- Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton in charge of all
arrangements.
SMITH, LUCILLE - age 68 or LaFollette, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2004
at her home. She was a retired Campbell County School Teacher. She was preceded
in death by: mother, Maggie Smith and uncle Charlie Smith. Survivors: several
cousins, friends and relatives. Funeral service 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7,
2004 at Cross Funeral Home, Rev. Mike smith officiating. Interment 10 a.m.
Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004 Wells Spring Cemetery, Rev. O.P. Byrd officiating. Family
will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday prior to funeral. Arrangements by
Cross Funeral Home.
TAYLOR, WILLIAM "BILL" - age 91 of Clinton passed away Monday January 5, 2004
at Windwood Health Care Center. Mr. Taylor was owner and operator for approx.
30 years of Taylor Auto Parts in Clinton. He was a member of Andersonville
Valley Masonic Lodge, he was also a long time member of Sinking Springs United
Methodist Church. He was a Veteran of the US Marines having served in World War
II. Preceded in death by: parents, George Taylor and Roxie Johnson Taylor;
sons, William David Taylor, William "Bill" F. Taylor; first wife Eva Haynes
Taylor; and sister Mildred T. Williams. Survived by: wife, Elizabeth "Liz" Taylor
of Clinton; and daughters, Carol and husband Ed Yonkey of Johnson City, Brenda
and husband Joe Bradford of Knoxville, Myra and husband Doyle White of
Apopka, Fla.; sons, Phillip and wife Barbara Taylor of Clinton; 11 grandchildren;
and 12 great grand children; also survived by stepdaughters, Pat and husband Don
Brown of Hesikell; stepsons, Jim and wife Mitch Thomas of Jacksonville, Fla.;
Randy and wife Rhonda of Knoxville and Chuck Thomas of Palm Bay, Fla.; 11
step grandchildren and 14 great step grandchildren; nephew, Steven R. and wife
Susan Williams of Val Rico, Fla. Honorary Pallbearers will be: David Yonkey,
Alex Bradford, Eddie Bradford, Doug White, Barry Brown and Jacob Thomas. Family
will receive friends Wednesday January 7, 2004 from 1-3 p.m. with a Masonic
service and funeral at 3:00. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge
of all arrangements. Memorials may be made to Clinton Public Library.
