FLODSTROM, ROBERTA FRANCES - age 66, of Oak Ridge, passed away Monday,
October 6, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center. She was born November 25, 1936, in
Malden, Mass., to the late Robert and Idella Bowie Hargreaves. She was a
homemaker and a member of the Kern Memorial United Methodist Church, Beta Sigma Phi
International, Alpha Beta Council of Knoxville. She was a graduate of Malden
High School. Her hobbies included quilting, needlepoint, countered cross-
stitching and reading. She was a member of the Wellness Community of East Tennessee
and the American Cancer Society. Survivors include her husband, Robert D.
Flodstrom of Oak Ridge; sons, Keith Flodstrom and wife, Jennifer of Boulder, Colo.,
Scott Flodstrom and wife, Donna of New Market, NH, Robert B. Flodstrom and
wife, Caroli of Milford, Mass.; daughter, Kimberly Brinkman and husband, Bart of
Oak Ridge; grandchildren, Craig and Holly Flodstrom of New Market, NH,
Matthew and Ryan Flodstrom of Milford., Mass., Cameron and Caleb Brinkman of Oak
Ridge; great-grandson, Tyler Flodstrom of New Market, NH; sisters, Jean Rundlett
of Watertown, Mass., Isabelle Kelley of Ft. Myers, Fla.; several nieces and
nephews in Massachusetts and Florida. Special friends, Gary and Marsha Sega and
Victor and Barbara Kaminsky of Knoxville. A memorial service will be Saturday,
October 11, 2003, at 3 p.m. at the Kern Memorial United Methodist Church, 451
E. Tennessee Ave., Oak Ridge, with The Rev. Mark Flynn officiating. The
family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. at the church. Donations may be given
in place of flowers to Wellness Community of East Tennessee, 1844 Terrace
Ave., Knoxville, TN 37916, or the Kern Memorial United Methodist Church Building
Fund, 451 E. Tennessee Ave., Oak Ridge, TN 37830. Martin Oak Ridge Funeral
Home, in charge of arrangements.

HILL, BARBARA ELIZABETH - age 77, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, October 7,
2003, at Methodist Medical Center. She was a devoted mother of two children.
Most of her interest revolved around her family, some of her interest included
Brownie and Girl Scout leader and Boy Scout leader. Her hobbies included
playing bridge, gardening and reading. She was the first female to graduate in
civil engineering at the University of Kentucky in 1948. She worked in Oak Ridge
at ORNL with the Cyclotron Design Group. Preceded in death by parents, Everett
W. and Edith Jones Dwche. Born May 9, 1926, in Corbin, Kentucky. Survivors:
husband, R. Ellis Hill of Clinton; son, Dr. Steven E. Hill and wife, Ann W. of
Chapel Hill, N.C.; daughter, Barbara J. Thornton and husband, Peter of
Providence, R.I.; grandchildren, Kristin, Tamara, and Brittany Hill of Chapel Hill,
N.C. The family will receive friends 1:00-2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 9, 2003,
at Memorial United Methodist Church with memorial service to follow at 2 p.m.
with Rev. Don Thomas officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request
memorials be made to Memorial United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 323 North
Main Street, Clinton, TN, 37716. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, in Clinton, in
charge of all arrangements.

NICHOLS, REV. H. P. - age 80, of Knoxville, passed away Monday, October 6,
2003, at the Fort Sanders Parkwest Medical Center. He was born December 17,
1922, at Fonde, Ky. Survivors include wife, Odell Nichols of Knoxville. Funeral
services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Binghamtown Baptist Church,
Middlesboro, Ky. Interment services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Oak
Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5- 7 p.m. Wednesday at
the Binghamtown Baptist Church and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Martin Funeral
Home in Oak Ridge, Tenn. Creech Funeral Home, is in charge of arrangements.

HUTSON, GAIL ALLEY - age 51, of Norris, won her courageous victory over can
cer Monday, October 6, 2003, at her home, surrounded by her loving husband,
daughter & mother. She was a very talented artist. She has a special love for
nature, animals, trees & plants. She always did everything in her power to
preserve the land and to provide care for all animals. She also has a great love for
people and her family. She was a member of Norris Religious Fellowship Church.
She was a member of the Shekinah Center for Conscious Living. Gail was born
March 4, 1952, in Knoxville. Preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Alley
and several aunts & uncles. Survivors: loving husband of 33 years, Lynn Hutson
of Norris; daughter, Abbey Hutson of Norris; mother, Ruth Alley of Norris;
brothers-in-law, John David Hutson & wife, Myrna of LaFollette, Von Hutson & wife,
Brenda of Clinton, Jim Hutson & wife, Cindy of Farragut, Robert Miller of
Riverside, CA; sisters-in-law, Jewel Hatmaker & husband, Troy of Lake City, Doris
Overton & husband, R. J. of Jacksboro; special Friends, Vida Cooper of
Orlando, FL, Linda Neumann of Lake City, Jenny Beeman of Norris; very dear cousins,
Janice Gregory of Newman, GA, Debbie Handelson of Louisville, KY; several
aunts, uncles & extended family. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.,
Thursday, October 9, 2003 at Norris Religious Fellowship Church with Memorial
Service following at 8:00 p.m., at the church with Dr. Keith Haverkamp
officiating. In lieu of flowers, family request memorials be made to The Nature

membership # 2740705; or to Environmental Defense, by calling 1-800-684-3322, giving

SATTERFIELD, MRS. BERTHA "WARWICK" - age 74, of Andersonville, the Big Ridge
Community, passed away suddenly Sunday, October 5, 2003, at U. T. Medical
Center, due to an automobile accident. She was a member of Living Water Full
Gospel Church in Knoxville. Preceded in death by husband, Harold Satterfield; son,
Dwight Satterfield; daughter, Judy Grant. Survived by son, Randy Satterfield;
daughters, Tammy Brooks, Connie Satterfield, Cathy Pannell; sons-in-law,
Howard Pannell, Dan Brooks, Kenny Grant; grandchildren, Mary Waller, Timmy
Satterfield, Amanda Satterfield; great-grandchildren, Gabriel Waller, Dillon Waller,
Patrick Waller; brother, Douglas Warwick; sisters, Belva Allred, Jay Johnson,
and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October
8, 2003, at Ailor Chapel with Rev. Rosco Oxendine and Rev. Jimmy Davidson
officiating. Interment in Ridenour Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and
