ANDERSON, BESSIE LILLIAN - of Oak Ridge,
BUNCH, WILLIAM ISAAC - age 85,
POWELL, MRS. ELSIE MAE (PEACE) - age 71 of Andersonville

ANDERSON, BESSIE LILLIAN - of Oak Ridge, died suddenly and peacefully from
cardiac arrest about 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 30, 2003, at her home. She
was a long- time member of First United Methodist Church and the Oak Ridge
Women's Club. She was also an active member of the Covenant Health Fitness Program.
In earlier years, she was active in Square Dance and Ballroom dancing clubs.
While her children were in school, she participated in all their activities.
She was very devoted to her family and home. She was preceded in death by her
parents, Andrew and Stella Perkins; and a brother, William Edgar Perkins. Mrs.
Anderson is survived by her husband, Alex H. Anderson; daughters, Sharon Lynne
Anderson and Susan Kay and Mark Senn; much beloved granddaughter, Samantha L.
Senn, and a brother, Andrew Jack Perkins. The funeral service will be held on
Friday, October 3, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary with Rev.
Robert Cantrell, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of contributions to the
Youth Choir of the First United Methodist Church, PO Box 4669, Oak Ridge, TN
37831-4669. The family will receive friends on Friday from Noon until 2:00pm at
Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge. (www.weatherfordmortuary.com)

BUNCH, WILLIAM ISAAC - age 85, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2003, at
home. Retired from Alcoa after 40 years of service and a member of the 25 Year
Club. He served in the C.C.C.'s in Cades Cove and then the Navy in World War II.
He was a Boy Scout Leader with Troop 6 for several years. Preceded in death
by wife of 47 years, Norine Eldridge Bunch; parents, Walter and Lillie Peters
Bunch of Coalfield; sister, Aletha Spainhour; brother, Paul Bunch. Survivors:
daughter, Joan Bunch; son, Jerry Bunch, both of Knoxville; sisters, Florence
Worthington of Coalfield and Stella Kelly of Wartburg; brother, Joseph Earl
Bunch of California; brother and sister-in-law, James and Margaret Bunch of
Coalfield, and many nieces and nephews. Per his request, Mr. Bunch's body was
donated to the U. T. Health and Science Center in Memphis, and no services are
planned at this time. The family appreciates the care of Dr. Bard, Dr. Spencer, Dr.
Klein, and especially Dr. Wahid Hanna, and his staff and the nurses on 6 East
at U. T. Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American
Cancer Society, a charity of your choice, or to any of the churches who kept
him in their prayers for so many years. Union Baptist Church, 3615 Knoxville

POWELL, MRS. ELSIE MAE (PEACE) - age 71 of Andersonville, passed away
Wednesday evening, October 1, 2003 at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was of the
Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by father & mother, Curtis & Hazel Peace;
brother, Fred Peace; husband, Donnie Powell; son, Michael Powell. Survivors:
grandson, Brandon Blade Powell; sisters and brother-in-laws, Joann Smelser,
Bonnie and Doug Warwick, Betty and Luther Flatford; brother, Curtis Peace Jr.;
several nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. The family will receive
friends 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday with funeral services to follow. Rev. Earl
Johnson officiating. Interment 2:00 p.m. Saturday at New Loyston Memorial
Gardens. Pallbearers will be nephews and brother-in-laws. Ailor Mortuary,
Maynardville in charge of arrangements. Our obituary line is 865-992- 1114.
