BELL, GROVER C. - Beloved father, grandfather & brother, age 79, of Norris,
passed away Monday, September 22, 2003 at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak
Ridge. Those who knew him well will remember him as a supporter of the
community whose generosity reached many individuals and organizations. He leaves a
legacy of designing and building for church, family & friends. After retiring
from Martin Marietta at the Y-12 plant, he became a gourmet cook who shared love &
laughter at the table. Preceded in death by his wife, Helen B. Bell; parents
& several brothers & sisters. He leaves his daughter, Deborah B. Wilson &
husband, Tom of Chantilly, Virginia; daughter, Diane B. Muse & husband, Mike of
Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren, Eric, Brian & Meredith Wilson; sister,
Jeanne Stokes & husband, Tom of Bristol, Virginia; several nieces & nephews. The
family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 25, 2003 at
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Graveside service will be held 11:00 am,
Friday at Norris Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Children's
Program, C/o M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, 1515 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, Texas,

BUIS-HOWARD, EUNICE FAYE - age 54, of Oak Ridge, died Friday, September 19,
2003, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Retired / Martin
Marietta Energy Systems/K25. Member of Truelight Missionary Baptist Church.
Survived by husband, Wesley S. Howard III of Oak Ridge; daughter, Phyllis Buis
Harshaw and her husband, Robert of Alcoa; son, Wesley S. Howard IV and his wife,
Dorothy of Memphis; parents, Lamar and Rene Martin Hall; brothers, Edward L.
Martin and Michael H. Martin, and sisters, Connie B. Maddox, all of Oak Ridge,
and Diane B. Ely of Nashville,
and six grandchildren. Funeral services are Thursday, September 25, 2003, at
2:00 p.m. at Truelight Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Darius Waters
officiating. Burial will follow at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton. The
family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the church.

DOZLER, MRS. KARON - age 57 of Oliver Springs, formerly of Maynardville,
passed away Sunday, September 21, 2003 at her home. Preceded in death by paternal
parents, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Eschman; adoptive parents, Walter & Marion Dozler;
half-brother, John Dozler. She had just completed her 16th year of employment
at Pellissippi State Community College. Survivors: Fiancée, Gary Peters;
daughter, Mary Ann Payne; son, Shannon Payne; sisters, Sharon Lue Collins, Carol
Smith; brothers, Robert Dozler, Michael Patrick Eschman; several grandchildren;
and favorite great niece, Courtney Collins; several nieces and nephews. The
family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday with funeral services to
follow at 8:00 p.m. at the Ailor chapel with Rev. Jimmy Davidson officiating.
Interment 10:00 a.m. Thursday, at Skagg Cemetery, Maynardville. Pallbearers:
John Collins, Tim Bailes, Jimmy Carter, and Bobby Cox, Daryl Thompson, and Al
Inman. Honorary pallbearers: Robert, Jack, Jerry Paul, Bill, Dale, Phil, and
Benny Collins. Ailor Mortuary, Maynardville in charge of arrangements. Obituary

FOX, WILLIAM KENNETH "KEN" - age 73 of Clinton, passed away September 22,
2003 at Methodist Medical Center. Born March 8, 1930 in Hazard, KY to the late
William Andrew Fox, SR and Minnie Ellington Fox. Survivors include his wife,
Frances Fox, Claxton; 2 sons; 5 daughters; 6 brothers; 4 sisters; 30
grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be
Wednesday, September 24, 2003 at 8:00 p.m. at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home
with Rev. Don Fox officiating. Interment will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the
Cox View Cemetery in the Karns Community with nephews serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

MAYS, CLARA LOLA "SIS" (ESTES) - age 83 of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday
morning, September 23, 2003 at Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital after recent strokes
and 3 years at Brakebill Nursing Home with Alzheimer's. Clara was a lifetime
resident of Ridgedale and Karns. She attended Third Creek and then Central
High School, and was employed by Knox Porcelain, Oak Ridge, Y-12, Southern
Athletic, Alpha, Baptist Hospital, and Knox County Schools Cafeteria. Clara was a
member of Ridgedale Baptist Church and president of her Sunday School Class for
many years. Some of her happiest times were working with church youth and
encouraging her two daughters with their church music. Clara's family remembers
her as a sweet caring person who always saw the best in everyone. Her two
daughters & grandchildren thought of her not only as a loving mother & grandmother,
but as their best friend. Clara was preceded in death by her parents, James
Henderson Estes and Nora (Nipper) Estes; her husband, Clarence Arthur Mays, who
passed away April 9, 2003; her two brothers, James and Wilbur Estes; and a
sister, Lillian West. She is survived by daughters, Patricia Ann Price and Nora
Joan Cooper; sons-in- law, Larry Price and Gary Cooper; grandchildren, Jill
(Price) Akers and Casey Cooper; great-grandchildren, Brady & Bailey Akers (who
always made her smile); sister, Hazel (Estes) Dougherty. The family would like
to thank Audrey Day and Alberta Douglas of Ridgedale Baptist for their regular
visits to see Clara at the nursing home, to Bobby Smith and Lillian Patterson
and her other kind neighbors on Hazelnut Drive, and to all of her good friends
and the entire staff at Brakebill Nursing Home. In lieu of flowers, gifts may
be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, P. O. Box 10088, Knoxville, TN
37939-9910 or to Grace Baptist Church Worship Orchestra for new instruments, etc.,
in honor of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive
friends 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday at Weaver's Chapel, with the service to follow at
8:00 p.m. Dr. Ronald Stewart of Grace Baptist and Rev. Mark McGIll of
Ridgedale Baptist will officiate. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Friday at
Highland Memorial Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service. Honorary
pallbearers: Maurice Smith, Roy Coker, Ed Valentine, Gary Cooper, Casey Cooper,
Richard Goodin, Ralph Hill, and Everett Dougherty. Arrangements by Weaver
Funeral Home, 5815 Western Avenue.
