John D. Reeves is in the book "John Ford (1759-1819) and his Campbell County
Tennessee Descendants" by Edith Wilson Hutton. She documents the
following:
1) that John D. Reeves was born about 1831, the son of German B. and Mary
Ann Reeves
2) that he first married Catherine Ford, daughter of Isaac Ford, Sr. 28 Dec
1854 and that they were enumerated in the 1860 Campbell County Tn. Census.
They had children: Mary Emily Reeves, (1856), Margaret Anne Reeves (b. 1857)
Elizabeth Jane Reeves (b. 1857), Ellen Catherine Reeves (b. 1860) and Sarah
F. Reeves (b. 1860). (2 sets of twins)
3) that Catherine died during the early part of the Civil War between 1861
nad 1863. After her death John D. Reeves joined the Union army. He served
until the end of the war and then settled in Roane County TN
4) John married twice after Catherine's death - his third wife Permelia
applied for his pension after his death 27 August 1916. National Archives
Pension Certificate # 171,500 and widow's claim #1,085,710, John D. Reeves,
Co. A and B 1st Tn Infantry Union Army. One of the depositions was by a
Daniel Boone Ford who verified the relationship of John D. and Catherine and
Catherine's relationship to Isaac Ford.
If you are interested in a copy of her book the Campbell County USGENWeb
site has a published resources page which gives her address and ordering
information. It was $45 and is the best $45 I have ever spent in genealogy.
This book is extremely well sourced and very readable.
Hope this info helps.

I'm new to the list. I am researching the family and descendants of John A.
Reeves and Hannah Pedigo.
Does anyone know if there is a list of Campbell County soldiers who died
during in the Civil War. I am particularly interested in the names of John D
Reeves (b. abt 1831) and Albert/Elbert Reeves (b. abt 1847). Both were sons
of
German B. Reeves and Mary Ann Dickson.
