Funeral For Grant Webb Held Tuesday
Services for Grant Luther Webb,46,of Clinton Rt.3,who died Saturday night
at the St.Mary's Hospital,Knoxville,were held at 2:30p.m.Tuesday at Martin
Funeral Home Chapel,Lake City,with the Rev.Wayne Markham offciating.
Burial was in Tennessee Memory Gardens.Mr.Webb was a distributor for an
oil company.A veteran of World War II,he was a member of the American Legion
and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.Survivors include his wife,Irene Foust Webb,
mother,Sadie Webb,brother,Rondel Webb,Lake City,three sisters,Mrs.Alma Newman
and Mrs.Fern Davis,both of Lake City,Mrs.Gladys Wilbur,Michigan.

Services Held Tuesday For Mrs.Adkins
The Funeral of Mrs.Nora Webb Adkins,78,of Lake City were held at 2p.m.Tuesday at
the Longfield Baptist Church with the Rev.Ben Baird and the Rev.Enos Herrin offiicating.
Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery.Mrs.Adkins,widow of Joe N.Adkins,died Sunday
night at her home.She was a member of the Longfield Baptist Church.
Survivors include four daughters,Mrs.Vista Benge,Jellico,Mrs.Mae Hutson,Warner-Robbins,Ga.
Mrs.Arnold Amos,Vasper,and Mrs.Earl Gross,Lake City,two sons,Elmer Adkins,Macon,Ga.
Otha Adkins,Lafollette.two sisters,Mrs.Alice Cooper,Clinton,Mrs.Ethel Polson,Caryville,
one brother,Jim Webb,Colorado,and 18 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Services For Minister Is Held Sunday
Funeral services (Cant Read) Pleasant E.Slover,64,of Lake City Rt.2 were held at 2:30p.m.
Sunday at the Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev.Charles Johnson and the Rev.Ernest Ward
officiating.Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.The Baptist minister was a member of the Longfield
Baptist Church and a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include his wife,Mrs.Lassie Loving Slover,two daughters,Mrs.Bonnie Sharp,Mrs.Dorothy Johnson,
five sons,W.L.,Willard,Leo,Lloyd,and Floyd Slover all of Lake City Rt.2,two sisters,Mrs.Bertha Foust,Lake City,
Mrs.Mida Miller,Lafollette.one brother,Horace Slover.Lake City,and 11 grandchildren.

Glenn Tuttle,Teacher 37 Years Dies
Glenn I.Tuttle,57,who served as principal of Lake City Elementary School 17 years and spent over 37 years
of his life in Anderson County Education.Died Friday at his home near Lake City after a lingering illness.
Mr.Tuttle retired last year as a result of failing health.A graduate of the University of Tennessee,he began
teaching in 1924 at Rush Strong.In 1926 he was named principal of Reed School and in the year that
followed he was the principal and teacher at Scarboro,Briceville,Marlow,Medford and Riverview.He went
Lake City as principal in 1944.The Briceville native also coach basketball and was interested in his church
where he taught Sunday School and served in other capacities.He was also a member of the Lake City
Loins Club and the National Educational Association.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 4p.m.at the Clear Branch Baptist Church to which he belonged.
Officiating were the Rev.H.L.Hutchins and the Rev.C.N.Warren.Burial was in Leach Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife,Mrs.Belle Pike Tuttle,daughter,Mrs.Glenn Fay Hornburg,Sacramemto,Calif.,
sister,Mrs.Lena Hatmaker,brother,James Tuttle,all of Lake City,two grand-daughters, Melody and Jennifer Hornburg.
