BETHEA, NELSON HENRY - age 90, of Oak Ridge, TN,
HARRINGTON, HAZEL MARTHA - age 96, of the Claxton Community,

BETHEA, NELSON HENRY - age 90, of Oak Ridge, TN, died Monday, July 14, 2003
at N.H.C. Healthcare in Oak Ridge, TN. He was born in Edgefield, SC to Henry
and Lillian Bethea. A member of Church Street United Methodist Church and the
achievement Sunday School class. He was retired from Union Carbide, Y-12, in Oak
Ridge, after thirty-one years as an Industrial Engineer. Mr. Bethea was also
a life member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers. He is survived by his
wife of sixty-three years, Hilda Norton Bethea; daughter and son-in-law,
Martha and Ralph Horn of Chattanooga; granddaughters, Emily Horn of Chicago, Rachel
Horn of Chattanooga; sisters, Mildred Harmon of Greeneville, TN, Elizabeth
Veach of Charleston, SC, Eleanor Williams of San Diego, CA, and Estelle Edwards
of Mesa, AZ; sister-in-law, Dorothy Norton of Charlotte, NC; several nieces
and nephews. Memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2003 at Rose
Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Reverend Cabel Trent and Reverend Jan Buxton-Wade
officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations
may be made to The Alzheimer's Association, P. O. Box 10088, Knoxville, TN
37939-9910, or to Church Street United Methodist Church, 900 Henley Street,
Knoxville, TN 37902. The family will receive friends following the memorial service
at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.

HARRINGTON, HAZEL MARTHA - age 96, of the Claxton Community, passed away
Sunday, July 13, 2003, at her residence. She was the oldest member of Valley View
United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Arthur "Dock"
Harrington in 1994; parents, Richard and Lula Jones Cross; sisters, Edith Harrington
and Eula Duncum; brothers, Earl and Cecil Cross. Mrs. Harrington was born
September 20, 1906, in Anderson County. Survivors: daughter, Phyllis Harrington of
Claxton, and several nieces and nephews. Special friend, Agnes Watlington of
Oak Ridge, and a host of friends. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00
p.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral
service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday in the Chapel of Holley-Gamble with
Rev. David Lord and Rev. Pat Bishop officiating. Interment will follow the
service at Valley View Cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, of Clinton, in
charge of all arrangements.
