Mrs.Maggie Burress,80 died at the home of her son,Joseph Wallace,on
Andersonville Rt.1,Monday.Survivors are her husband,James W.Burress,
sons,Joseph Wallace of Andersonville,James Burress of Jellico,Ulis Buress
of Chicago, daughter,Carroll Honeycutt of Jellico,17 grandchildren,three great-grandchildren,
sister,Mrs.Louis Sharp of Clinton.Services were held Wednesday at 2p.m. at Mt.Pleasant
Methodist Church with burial in church cemetery.Martin' s of Clinton was in charge.

Mildred Phillips,seven diedMonday at 1:30p.m. at Harriman Hospital.
Survivors are the parents,Mr.and Mrs.Richard Phillips,sister,June,
two brothers,Donnie and Lonnie,grandparents,Mrs.Ida B.Phillips,all of Stainville.
Services were held Wednesday at 2p.m.at Stainville with Rev.Edmond Phillips officaiting.
Burial was in Phillips Cemetery with Cox of Lake City in charge.

J.C.Sharpe
J.C.Sharpe,of Detriot,formerly of Lake City,died Thursday at 9:30 p.m. at Scott Hospital.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II.
Survivors are his mother,Mrs.Steve Sharpe of Lake City.four sisters,Mrs.John Ayers Jr.of Lake City,
Mrs.Bill Baker of Clinton,Mrs.Harry Mitchell of Lake City,and Mrs.Clarence Rutherford of Toledo,Ohio.
Services were held Saturday at 4p.m.at the Cox Chapel with the Rev.T.R.Roark,the Rev.M.W.Bodelien
the Rev.C.T.Miller officiating.Burial was in Leach cemetery with Cox of Lake City in charge.

W.M.Sivers Record Artist Is Dead
W.M. " Uncle" Bill Sivers,early radio and recording artist and one of of the first to make Tennessee
"hillbilly" music popular through-out the country died at his home at 811 Fowler Street Monday night
after a two and one-half month illness.From 1928 until 1936 he trooped from the Great Lakes to the
Gulf of Mexico as a Brunswick record and radio artist with Mack and Willie,his son and daughter,
and a first cousin who now lives in California.For many years he operated a barber shop on Market St.
in Clinton and at other locations.He also worked as a barber in Washington,D.C.
Up until the time of his recent illness,he was active in the real estate business in Clinton.
He was a member and former trustee of the Second Baptist Church.He leaves his wife,
Beatrice Sievers,sons,Mack and Bill of Clinton,daughter,Mrs.Willie Sharp of Knoxville,
three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren,sister,Mrs.Kate Hooks of Knoxville.
Services were held at 3p.m.Wednesday at Second Baptist Church with the Rev.George Williams and
the Rev.Floyd Long officiating.Burial was in Sunset Cemetery with Martin's of Clinton in charge.
