PETERS, JOHNATHAN BENJAMIN - age 72, of Oak Ridge, died Tuesday, June 24,
2003, at the Methodist Medical Center. Attended First United Methodist Church of
Oak Ridge. Retired from Martin Marietta Energy Systems/Y-12, where he was a
General Supervisor. Preceded in death by daughter, Jacqueline Ann Stroh in
December 2001. Survived by wife, Shirley Louise Westley Peters. They would have
celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on September 1st; son, Johnathan
Benjamin Peters, II and wife, Arnetta Hatfield Peters, and daughter, Joanna Louise
Fritts and husband, David, all of Oak Ridge; son-in-law, Richard Stroh of
Maryville; brother, David Samuel Peters and wife, Debra of Federal Way, Wash.; four
grandchildren, Benjamin Riley Peters, Kerri Rosenberger and husband, Jason,
all of Oak Ridge, Abraham John Stroh and Sarah Elizabeth Stroh of Maryville;
great-grandchild, Shelby Anne Rosenberger of Oak Ridge. Funeral services will be
held on Friday, June 27, 2003, at 8:00 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary with Rev.
Bill Mooney officiating. Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 10:00
a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family asks, any memorials be in the
form of contributions to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, East Tennessee
Chapter, 4700 Rutledge Pike, Knoxville, TN 37914. The family will receive friends on
Friday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge

SPATH, VERBA D. - age 92, of Norris, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at
the Windwood Health Care Center in Clinton. She was born June 6, 1911, in
Marshall, North Carolina, and grew up in Cocke County. She graduated from the
University of Tennessee and taught school in Cocke, Polk, and Anderson Counties,
and Falls Church, Virginia. She was a member of Norris Religious Fellowship
Church. Mrs. Spath was also Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Clinch
Valley Chapter. Preceded in death by first husband, Claude Laws; second husband,
Paul C. Spath; daughter, Claudette Laws Crenshaw; two grandsons, Joe Gilmore
and Claude Stickney, and step-mother, Thelma Phillips Davis. Survivors:
daughter, Marilyn Laws Stickney and husband, Webster of Colorado; son-in-law, Doug
Crenshaw of Decatur, Ga.; step-children, Paula Gilmore of Chattanooga, Bill and
Margie Spath of Virginia, Liz Spath of New York City, NY; brother, Burl D.
Davis of Dandridge; sisters, Gladys M. Sherbit of Newport, Minnie B. Ford of
Brunswick, Ohio; half- brothers, J. P. Davis and Danny Davis; a host of
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date
by the family. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, of Clinton, in charge of all
arrangements.

TURNER, IMOGENE OLIVA - of Clinton, TN, passed away on Wednesday, June 25,
2003 at the Windwood Health Care Center at the age of 83, wife of Walter E.
Turner. She was formerly of Knoxville where she lived in West Hills for 34 years
before moving to Clinton. She was a graduate of Young High School where she was
in the National Honor Society and a graduate of the Knoxville Business
College. She was a member of the New Hopewell Baptist Church for 14 years, church
clerk and Sunday school teacher. She helped set up a church library and trained
others to work in the library. She later became a member of Central Baptist
Church of Bearden. She was a member of the 10:00 o'clock Garden Club of West
Hills and a Boy Scout troop leader. She was a devoted wife, beloved mother and
grandmother. Preceded in death by parents, Alex and Pearl Nelson Clark; brother,
Orville Clark; brother Curtis and wife, Marie Clark; sister- in-law, Lucille
Clark. Survived by husband, Walter Turner; brother, Cecil Clark of Knoxville;
two sons, Gary, wife, Anna and granddaughter, Kimberly Turner of Clinton,
John, wife, Susan and granddaughter, Laura Turner of Clinton; niece, Glenda Jett;
nephew, Jerry Clark of Knoxville; several dear and close friends. The Turner
family would like to thank the Windwood Health Care Center staff for their
wonderful care and support. Funeral service 10:00 AM Saturday, Berry Funeral Home
Chapel with Dr. Henry Chiles officiating, interment to follow at Sherwood
Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 PM Friday at Berry
