NEWTON, JAMES EDWARD - age 55, of Oak Ridge,
WILSON, ALMA RUTH NORRIS EZELL (RUTHIE) - of Oakdale, Tenn.,

CROTHERS, ROBERT R. - Presbyterian minister, formerly of Oak Ridge, died
March 15, 2003, in Laconia, N.H. He graduated from Maryville High School,
Wooster College, and McCormick Seminary, Chicago. In addition to serving
First Presbyterian Church, Oak Ridge, he held pastorates in Malone, N.Y.,
Decatur, Ill., and Topeka, Kansas. He is survived in by his wife, Alice, of
Laconia, daughter, Kathy Woodward of Holderness, N.H., three grandchildren,
and four great grandchildren.
DODSON, COL. ARTHUR W., U.S. ARMY (Ret.) - age 83, passed away at his home in
Chattanooga on Saturday, March 22, 2003, following a lengthy illness. A
Veteran of 36 years of service to his country. He was a member of the old
Deadrick Avenue Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his wife of 51 years,
Charlotte Dodson; his parents, William and Hattie Dodson of Knoxville;
brothers, Frank, Bill and James Eugene Dodson of Knoxville; sisters, Nancy
Johnson of Memphis and Mable Dalton of Knoxville. Survivors: daughters and
spouse, Faye Ann and Rick Kelly of Chattanooga, Kaye and Henry Durant of
Helenwood; sons and spouse, Ron and Kim Dodson, David and Linda Dodson, all
of Florida, Tommy and Donna Dodson of Tennessee, Col. Alan Dodson and Tina
Dodson of Illinois, Ltc. (Ret) Dennis Dodson and Magda Dodson of Belgium; 12
grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers and spouse, Karl (Punkin\)
and Ruby Dodson, Richard and Willa Dodson, Robert and Shirley Dodson and Earl
Dodson, all of Knoxville; sister and spouse, Francis and James Weeks of
Florida; sisters-in-law, Lois Dodson of Knoxville, and Loraine Hodges of
Maryville, and several nieces and nephews. He will be laid to rest in
Arlington National Cemetery.
NEWTON, JAMES EDWARD - age 55, of Oak Ridge, died Saturday, March 22, 2003,
at his home, after a lengthy illness. Retired from Martin Marietta Energy
Systems / Y-12, where is was an assembler. Veteran of the USAF. Preceded in
death by parents, Raymond Lee Newton in 1983, and Ellen Irene Smith Newton in
2000. Survived by brother, Ralph Leon Newton and wife, Lucy; niece, Laura Lea
Clinton and husband, Allen and nephew, Robert L. Newton and wife, Julie, all
of Atlanta; aunt, Shirley Crisp and husband, Don of Weeki Wachee, Fla., and
uncle, Dirk Smith of Rhode Island. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March
25, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. at Weatherford Mortuary with Rev. John Shaw
officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens. Memorials may
be made to C.A.R.E., 151 Ellis Street, Atlanta, GA 30303. The family will
receive friends on Monday from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak
Ridge.
WILSON, ALMA RUTH NORRIS EZELL (RUTHIE) - of Oakdale, Tenn., born July
1,1933, went to be with our Lord, Saturday, March 22, 2003, at Roane Medical
Center. She was a member of Callahan Road Baptist Church and retired School
Bus Driver for Knox County Schools after 23 years. Preceded in death by
father and mother, Clarence and Sarah Ann Norris; sister, Della Forester and
1st husband, Carroll Ezell, who was a World War II Veteran. Survived by
husband, Kenneth Wilson; sons, Larry and James Ezell; daughters, Carol and
Kathy Trosper and Cindy Neff; brothers, Harlie Norris and Jack Hicks, and
sister, Nellie Humphrey; grandchildren, Stacy Jones, Allen Trosper, Jr.,
Michelle Hinchey, Sherry Trosper, Sarah and Laura Ezell, Jerry Ezell, Jason
Ezell and James Ezell, Jr., and Kristie Martin; great- grandchildren, Ronnie
and Timmy Trosper, Cassie Bradshaw, Erika Hinchey and Madison Ezell. Funeral
service 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with Rev. Randy Webb
officiating. Family and friends will leave Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel at
12:30 p.m. Wednesday and proceed to Bookwalter Cemetery for a 1:00 p.m.
graveside service. Pallbearers: Larry Ezell, Allen Trosper, Jr., Jerry and
Jason Ezell, James Neff, and Casey Maples. The family will receive friends
Tuesday, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.
