Lake City Pastor Dies Wednesday
The Rev.Walter Richardson,72,died unexpectedly Wednesday night at his home on Lake City Rt.2
in the Oak Grove community.He was the pastor of East Jacksboro Baptist Church.He leaves his wife,
Mrs.Nettie Richardson,seven sons,Condy of Keokee,Va.,Elmer of Detriot,Lee Edward of Lake City Rt.2,
Fred of Oak Ridge,L.D. of Warren,Mich,I.J. of Mt.Clemons,Mich.,and Harry of Hixon,Tenn.,a sister,
Mrs.Alice Disney of Lake City,step-mother,Mrs.Marie Richardson,three step-sisters,Mrs.Georgia Goodman
of California,Lona Bell Richardson and Mary Sue Richardson both of Knoxville,and a half-brother Amos Richardson
of Lafollette.Funeral services will be Saturday with Martin Funeral Home of Lake City in charge.

Tom S.Vowell,Medford,Dies Wednesday
Thomas S.Vowell,78, of the Medford community,died Wednesday night at his home on Lake City Rt.1 of cancer.
Vowell,an Anderson County native,was a member of the Longfield Baptist Church and was a retired Oak Ridge worker.
He leaves his wife,Mrs.Bessie Foust Vowell,three sons,Ulys and Thomas of Lake City amd Jimmy of Hammond,Ind.,
three daughters,Mrs.Eva Disney of Lake City,Mrs.Mary Ruth Cox of Hammond,Ind.,and Mrs.Sarah Bunch of Clinton,
two step-children,Mrs.Reatha Phillips of Cleveland,O,and Glen Foust of Lake City, a sister,Mrs.Mary Nelson of Knoxville,
and 21 grandchildren.Funeral arrangement are incomplete.The body is at Martin's in Lake City.

Mrs.Adkins,Lake City Teacher,Dies
Mrs.Mamie Adkins,60,a longtime Anderson County teacher,died at 3:45 p.m.Wednesday at Lake City Hospital of cancer.
She had most recently taught at Lake City Elementary.She was the wife of James A (Shick)Adkins.They made their home
at Lake City Rt.2.Mrs.Adkins,a native of Lake City,was a member of Lake City United Methodist Church.She was a member
of the Anderson County Education Association,Tea and Nea.She also was chosen to Delta Kappa Gamma,an honoray
education society,and was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club.She leaves her husband,a son,
Steve,three sisters,Mrs.Beth Miller of Briceville,Miss.Ethel Allen of Lake City,and Mrs.Minnie Lunsford of Evarts,Ky.
Funeral services will be at 2p.m.Saturday at Lake City United Methodist Church with the Rev.Ralph Cline and the
Rev.Laurens Hudson officiating.Burial will be in Tennessee Valley Memory Gardens at Claxton.The family will receive
friends Friday night at Martin Funeral Home in Lake City.
