Fratervillian Dies At Hospital

A laundry worker in Oak Ridge during the 1940's,Mrs.Mattie Mae Hawkins,88,of Lake City,
died Friday at Lake City Hospital.Mrs.Hawkins was a native of the Lake City area and was a
member of Fraterville Baptist Church.Her husband John Hawkins,died in 1960.Mrs.Hawkins
enjoyed quilts and gardening when she was able.She is survived by three sons,John Hawkins Jr.
of Lake City,Leon Hawkins of Clinton and Kenneth Hawkins of Mentor,Ohio.,two daughters,
Pauline Hall of of Coneaut,Ohio.,and Mildred Hatmaker of Lake City,14 grandchildren and
18 great-grandchildren.Funeral services were held Sunday at the First Baptist Church of
Fraterville with the Revs.Bill Lamb and Bobby Tadlock officiating.Burial was in Leach Cemetery.

Olivers Man's Brother Dies

A Coalfield man with a brother in Oliver Springs,Welch(Blue)Jackson,75,died Sunday morning in
Oak Ridge Hospital after a brief illness.Jackson was the brother of Wade Jackson of Oliver Springs.
He was a former miner who owned a mining operation in the area and also was an active sportman and Mason.
Jackson was a member of the Middle Creek Baptist Church and was president of the Coalfield Senior Citizens
Club.He was a charter member of the Tri-County Sportmans Club.Besides his brother,Jackson is survived by his wife,
Mrs. Irene Wormsley Jackson, daughter,Naomi Ruth Daugherty of Coalfield,three sons,Donald W.Jackson of Oak Ridge,
Jackie A. and Jerry L.Jackson both of Coalfield,13 grandchildren,10 great-grandchildren and one other brother,
Rev.Dewey Jackson of Knoxville.Funeral services were held Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs
with the Rev.Lloyd Napier officiating.Burial was in Estes Cemetery in Coalfield on Wednesday.

Mrs.Bullock,89,Dies At Wayside

A member of Fraterville Baptist Church,Mrs.Nora Ann Vowell Bullock,89,formerly of Lake City,
died ay Wayside Health Care Center near Norris.Mrs.Bullock was born and raised in the Coal Creek
community,now known as Lake City.She was the widow of John F.Bullock,who died 10 years ago.
She enjoyed raising a family and her hobbies include quilting and gardening.She is survived by two daughters,
Mrs.Lorene Leinart of Clinton and Mrs.Magaline Stout of Mt.Clement,Mich.,four sons,Joe Bullock of Lake City,
George Bullock of Knoxville,Frank and Willard Bullock,both of Lake Station,Ind.24 grandchildren,14 great-grandchildren,
two sisters,Mrs.Mossie Bullock and Jennie Vowell,both of Clinton,and a brother,Luther Vowell of Lake City.
Funeral services were held Monday at Martin Funeral Home in Lake City with the Revs.Elbert Baird and Jimmy Ault
officiating.Burial was in Tennessee Valley Memory Garden.
