Mrs.Lindsay 91,Dies At Vasper Home
A resident of a farm near Clinton for nearly 20 years,Mrs.Dellar Lindsay,91,of the Vasper community,
Caryville Rt.1,died Saturday night at the home.There are 70 survivors.
Mrs.Lindsay,a native of Montery,lived on the old John Hill farm where Westwood Estates now is located,
from the 1930s intil 1950s.Her husband Robert Lindsay,a retired farmer,died in 1961after they moved to Vasper
community.She was a member of the Vasper Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing,quilt,raising flowers and church activities.
She is survived by two sons,James Lindsay of Clinton and R.P.Lindsay of Ohio,five daughters,Mrs.Ethel Johnson,Ruth Lovely,
both of Vasper,Mrs.Bessie McFarland of Morganton,N.C.,Mrs.Bonnie Van Huss,both of Randelman,N.C.,26 grandchildern,
25 great-grandchildren,nine great-great-grandchildren,and two brothers,Otis Jackson of Lafollette and Ernest Jackson of Powell.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Vasper Baptist Church with the Rev.Ralph Leach officiating.Burial was in Disney Cemetery.

Ex-Pastor Of Church In Clinton Dies
A former minister of the Church of God of Prophecy in Clinton,the Rev.Frank Massengale,66,of Norwood community
near Oliver Springs,died last Thursday at University Hospital in Knoxville.The Rev.Mr.Massengale,who was retired,
remained a member of the church he pastored 45 years.His son,the Franklin Russell Massengale of Clinton,is the
current minister of the church.The Rev.Mr.Massengale was born and raised in Coalfield.He served with the U.S.Army
in Europe during World War II.The former pastor enjoyed ginseng hunting as a pastime.
Besides his son,he is survived by his wife,Mrs.Alene Daugherty Massengale,two other sons,Troy Massengale of
Clinton,and the Rev.Luther Massengale of Coalfield,daughter,Mrs.Dale Weaver of Powell, 11 grandchildren,
and seven brothers,Raymond,Charles Rude,Leon and Ed Massengale,all of Coalfield,James Massengale of Petros,
and the Rev.Earl Massengale of Mt.Grove,Mo.Funeral services were held Friday at Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs
with the Revs.Raymond Lawson and Edsel Harmon officiating.Burial was in Oak Ridge Memorial Park on Saturday.

Mrs.Marlow Of Oliver Springs Dies
A member of the Beech Park Baptist Church of Oliver Springs,Mrs.Kathryn M.Marlow,59, of 307 Tower Drive,Oliver Springs,
died Tuesday at Oal Ridge Hospital.Mrs.Marlow also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star No.137 and the Disabled
American Veterans Auxliary of Oliver Springs.She is survived by her husband,Ancil Marlow,daughter, Marsha Diane Marlow of
Oliver Springs,son, Leonard Lee Marlow of Starwberry Plains,granddaughter,and brother, Warren Johnson of Jellico.
Funeral services are to be held at 11a.m Thursday(today)at the Beech Park Baptist Church with the Revs.John Zion and Delbert Payne
officiating.Burial will be in Chadwell Cemetery,Duff Rt.1.,at 2p.m. the same day.
