Ex-Cafeteria Worker Dies
A former cafeteria worker at Clinton Senior High School,Mrs.Alice Marie Wilshire,65,died Monday
night at Oak Ridge Hospital.Mrs.Wilshire,who retired in 1980 was preceded in death by her husband
R.J.Wilshire.She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.She is survived by three sons,
Elmer,Delmer and Ralph,all of Clinton,three sisters,Mrs.Cindy Hicks and Mrs.Ola Vann of Clinton,
and Mrs.Hilery Webber of Danville,IL.,two brothers,Fred and Clyde Hooks of Clinton.A close friend
was Charlotte Myers of Clinton.Funeral services will beheld Thursday(today)at 2p.m.at Pleasant View
Baptist Church with the Rev.Bedford Bullock and the Rev.Edward Luttrell officiating.Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Cook,46,Dies In Oak Ridge
Creed Cook,46,of Johnson Gap Rd,Clinton Rt.7,died Tuesday night at Oak Ridge Hospital.
Survivors,include,a sister-in-law,Cleda Cookmwith who he reside,two sons,Gary of Clinton,
and Ralph of Oliver Springs,a daughter,Carolyn Cook of Norris,a brother,McCoy Cook of Clinton,
a sister,Laurie Cook of Oliver Springs,and five grandchildren.The body will be returned to the home
on Thursday(today)at noon where family will receive friends.Funeral services will be held Friday at 2p.m
at Jarnigan Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev.Bedford Bullock officiating.Burial will be in church cemetery.

Former Coal Miner Dies In Hospital
A former Clinton coal miner,Star Marlow,78, died at 4:05a.m.at Oak Ridge Hospital Tuesday.
Mr.Marlow was the son of Mr.and Mrs.William Marlow of Swag Mountain.Mr.Marlow attended
Swag School and later became a miner in the area for 35 years.He was active in the Faith Baptist
Church of Clinton and was a avid hunter.He is survived by his wife,Ina Hatmaker Marlow,Clinton,
one son,Delford Marlow of Clinton,three daughters,Lula May Marlow Cooper of Clinton,
Emily Marlow Sharp of Coalfield,and Susie Marlow Daugherty of Clinton,two step-children,
Mrs.Shirley Marlow Lively and Joe Harness,both of Lake City,a brother Ernest Marlow of Lake City,
a sister,Lula Bridges of Lake City,38 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
The funeral services will be Friday at 2p.m. at the Faith Baptist Church.Burial will be in Sunset
Cemetery in Clinton.
