Rites Held For Mrs.Whaley Of Clinton
Services for Mrs.Flora Whaley,70, wife of George Whaley,were held at 2p.m. Saturday in the chapel
Martin Funeral Home in Clinton.The Rev.Ed Mays and the Rev.Jimmy Riner officiated.Burial was in
Plesant View Cemetery.Mrs.Whaley died Jan.5 in Detroit,where she and her husband had resided a month.
It was her wish to spend her last days with a daughter in Michigan.Mr.Whaley is a retired employe of L& N Railroad.
They formerly lived in Cantrell Apartment,North Main St.Clinton.
She also leaves four daughters,Mrs. Sephie Edmonds of Clinton,Mrs.Norma Miller of Powell, Mrs.Chloie Spence of Dearborn,Mich.
and Mrs.Cleo Holt, three sons, Eather Phillips and Buster Phillips both of Clinton,and Jimmy Whaley of Powell,
27 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs.Dora Bunch of Oliver Springs, Miss.Mossie Nolan of Wartburg,
amd Mollie Jane of Clinton, three brothers, Tom Nolan and Luke Nolan, both of Clinton and Bill Nolan of Florida.

Lum Gallaher,Ex-Miner, Dies Wednesday
Thomas (Lum)Gallaher, 78, a retired coal miner,died at 12:30a.m.Wednesday at his home in the Cove community
on Oliver Springs Rt.1.He was a member of Indain Creek Baptist Church,where services are to be held at 2p.m. Friday
with the Rev.Harry Vann officiating.Burial is to be in the church cemetery.The body is at Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs.
It will be returned home,and the family will receive friends after 5p.m. Thursday(today).
He leaves his wife,Mrs.Mary Lively Gallaher, a daughter, Ethel Wyrick of Oliver Springs, four sons, France Gallaher and
Arville Gallaher, both of Oliver Springs, Frank Gallaher of Detroit and Ted Gallaher of Monticello,IL.18 grandchildren and
17 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs.Lily Randolph of Norris.

Mrs.Yarnell, 59 Dies In Seattle
Mrs.Edna Kidwell Yarnell, 59, born and reared in Clinton,died Sunday afternoon in Seattle, where she had made
her home for a number of years.Her husband,Forrest Yarnell, a native of Spokane,Wash.formerly resided in Oak Ridge.
Services and burial were Wednesday in Spokane.
Mrs.Yarnell also leaves four daughters,Michelle Yarnell, Mrs.E.C. Smith, Mrs.Vickie Galbraith and Mrs.George Mack,
all of Seattle,eight grandchildren,three sisters, Mrs.D.A.(Myrtle) Woods,Wilmington,N.C.,Mrs.Robert (Blanche)Butcher of Knoxville,
Mrs.W.C.(Eula)Farmer of Clinton,and several nieces and nephews in the Clinton area.

Ward Child Is Buried Tuesday
Anthony Allen (Tiny) Ward Jr. 6,son of Mrs.Fay Stokes Ward of 1002 Grace St.in Lake City,died 4 p.m. Sunday
in U.T.Hospital in Knoxville.He had never been well.Services were held at 2p.m. Tuesday at West side Baptist Church
in Lake City with the Rev.L.B.Huskey and the Rev.Charles Noss officiating.Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
He also leaves his father of the Army in California,a brother,Kenneth Wayne at home,Grandparents, Charles Stokes
of Loveland,O., and Mr.and Mrs.Lorenzo Ward of Ohio,great-grandparents,Mrs.Arthur Stokes of Lake City,
Tom Roberts of Georgia and Eli Elkins of Ohio.

Gid Webber,72 Dies In Ohio
Gid H.Webber, 72, a native of Clinton,died Sunday in Dayton,O. where he made his home for 15 years.
He is the brother to Mrs.Sally Butcher of 808 Hill St.in Clinton.Services are to be at 2p.m.Friday at
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.George William officiating.Burial is to be in Sunset Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday(tonight)at the funeral home.
He leaves two daughters,Mrs.Jennie Shelton and Mrs.Jane Boling,four sons,Paul Wallace Webber,
Morris Webber.Ray Webber and Jess Webber,all of Dayton,16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren/
