Jolly M. Duncan

Jolly M. Duncan,aged 81 years,of Oliver Springs,departed this life Feb.28th,following an illness of several months.
when the great summons came he expressed a willingness to depart this life with its toil and sorrow and go to the
Great Beyond where there is neithers in nor death.Jolly professed faith in Christ just before his death.He only arrived
home from Martinsville,Ind.where he had been taking treatment for rheumatism,a few hours before the Angel of Death came.
His kind loving face will be sadly missed among his many friends,but we feel that our loss is hi gain,and though we can
never walk with Jolly here on earth again,if we do our Father's will, we can walk the street of the New Jerusalem with
him forever and ever.
Deceaeed leaves to mourn his loss a wife and two children,Clarence and Eller,two sisters, Mrs. B.W. Brown of Oliver Springs,
and Mrs.Wm.White of Briceville,four brothers, G.W. of Oliver Springs,Thos of Standard W.VA., A.J. Of Atlanda,Ga. and
A.L. of Washington,D.C..
The funeral services were conducted by Bro.Gamble and the remains were laid to rest in the family cemetery at Frost Bottom.

Mrs.Susie Marlow
Mrs.Susie Marlow,53, died Sunday at her home at Beech Grove.She is survived by four sons annd two daughters.
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Monday at Swag mountain.The Rev.Sterling Kennedy officiated and Martin
Funeral Home was in charge.

Ikey Phillips
Ikey Phillips,life-time resident of Stainville,Tenn.died at the age of 76 years at his home Friday night, March 26.
Mr. Phillips was stricken with pneumonia and lived only 3 days after he became ill.He is the father of a large family
and is survived by 10 children,six girls, Nancy Jane, Sarah, Martha, Anne, Ollie, Ellen and Susie, four boys,
Goldy, Harley, Fletcher, Dewey and about 35 grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at New Pilot Baptist Church Easter Sunday at 12 o'clock by the Rev.J.B. Phillips
of Stainville and Lacey Harness of Clinton.Burial was in the New Pilot cemetery adjoining the church.

Coal Creek Wagon Mine Operator Found Dead On Road Near Coal Creek

Ben Richards,55,operator of wagon mine near Coal Creek was found dead about 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon
on the roadside a mile south of Coal Creek,his brother,Dr.W.D. Richards,said he died of a cerebral hemorrhage.
He is survived by his wife,three sons, W.D., Billy,and Bobbie and one daughter, Mary Ruth Richards, three brothers,
Dr.W.D. and Dr.J.H. Richards,both of Knoxville,and Tom Richards of Portland,Ore.,five sisters, Daisy and Lizzie Richards,
Mrs.W.H. Brannan and Mrs.H.B.Strickland,all of Coal Creek,and Mrs.J.H. Morse,of Denver,Colo.
Funeral services were held at Coal Creek M.E. Church at 2o'clock Thursday afternoon with burial following in the
Sunset cemetery in Clinton.Weaver Funeral Home was in charge.

William A .Henderson
William A Henderson,former railroad bridge worker,who died April 2 in Logan,W.Va. was burial at Farmers Grove
cemetery Monday following services held at that church at 10 o'clock.The Rev.J.C. Jones officiated.
Mr.Henderson is survived by his wife, two sons,James and W.L. two daughters, Miss.Ethel Henderson and
Mrs.Dave Golden.
Pallbearers were,Jiggs Thomas, Hobart Beets, Steve Yerkes,Fred Beets,Basil Williams and Jim Wilson.
Wells Funeral Home in charge.
