Mose Harness

Mose Harness,18, died at the home of his parents,Mr.and Mrs.Noah Harness of Laurel Grove,
Friday after and illness of several months.
In addition to his parents,Mose is survived by two sisters,Mrs.Vaughn Lisenbee of Fort Bragg,N.C.,
and Miss.Josephine Harness of Laurel Grove,a half-sister,Mrs.Grace Fredrick of Fork Mountain,and
half -brother,Walter Harness of Clinchmore,his grandfather,Mose S.Duncan of Frost Bottom.
Funeral Services were held at 10a.m. Sunday at the Laurel Grove Baptist church, of which he was a member,
with burial in the church cemetery.The Rev.Clarence and Odas Harness,the Rev.John Vickery and the Rev.Lee Phillips
officiated.
Pallbearers were:Hobart Hatmaker.Elmer,Odas,"Dad" and and Leroy Harness,Chester Parks,Columbus Phillips and
Fred Graham.

Infant Gibbs
Little Minnie Jane Gibbs,two-years-old daughter of Mr.and Mrs.Wayne Gibbs of Marlow,died at their
home Sept 8.Two brothers also survive.Services were at the Hooks cemetery Saturday morning.

Miss.Carrie Adkins

Miss.Carrie Adkins,formerly a resident of Fort Mountain,died last Wednesday at Sunbright,
where she moved recently.She had been ill only a short time.
Funeral services were Friday with burial in Sunbright cemetery.Miss.Adkins, 15,was the daughter
of the Rev.and Mrs.Lacey Adkins,who survive as do five sisters and two brothers.
Miss.Adkins death was due to blood poisoning.Sharpe and Burnette were in charge.

Charles Hatmaker

Funeral services for Charles Hatmaker,64,who died last Thursday afternoon at his home in Lake City,
were held Saturday afternoon at Longfield Baptist Church.The Rev.T.H. Roark and the Rev.John Lindsay
officiated and burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Hatmaker, who was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church is survived by his wife,six daughters,
Mrs. Buel Abner.Mrs. Elmer Richardson,Mrs. Elbert Cooper of Clinton,Miss.Gladys ,Juanita and Betty Jo,
all of Lake City,three sons,John,Elmer, and Orn,all of Lake City,three sisters,Mrs. Sarah Horne and Mrs. Alex Guy
both of Lafollette,and Mrs.Lawrence Clark of Cincinnati,three brothers,Sam of Block,Wylie of New River,
and Kelly Hatmaker of Illinois.Martin Funeral Home in charge.
