April 7-8,1991.

Lorene Wilson Hicks

Funeral services for Lorene Wilson Hicks,76 of Lake City,were held Saturday at

Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Lake City with the Rev.Wayne Markham and the

Rev.Wayne Hubbs officiating.Burial was in Longfield Cemetery.

An Anderson County native,Mrs.Hicks died at Lake City Health Care.

She was the daughter of the late David Jackson and Martha Jane Riggs Wilson.

A daughter,Norma Jean Hutchinson also preceded her in death.She was a member

of First Baptist Church of Lake City. Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law.

Tom and Autherine Hicks and John and Callie Hicks,all of Lake City.sisters,

Ruth Van Nosdall and Altivene Adams of Lake City,and a brother, Verlin Wilson

of Maryville,eight grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren.





April 7-8,1991

Dock Elliott

A retired coalminer,Dock Elliott,81,of Lake City Rt.2,Fraterville Community,

died Thursday at Lafollette Medical center.He was an Anderson County native.

His wife, Mae Elliott died in 1976.Mr. Elliott was a member of Fraterville Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter,, Elizabeth Rice of Fraterville,sons and daughters-in -law,

Ken and Mae Elliott of Fraterville,and Clarence and Wilma Elliott of Oak Ridge,a sister,

Edna Mae Hatmaker of Lake City,six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held today( Sunday)at 2p.m. at First Baptist Church with the

Rev.Bill Thomas and the Rev.Ott Kiser officiating.Burial will be in Oak Grive Cemetery.

Cox Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.





April 7-8,1991

Helen Joyce Cox

Helen Joyce Cox,84,a resident of Lake City Health Care,died there on Thursday

morning.She was an educator and school psychologist with Spokane,Wash school

system for 25 years before retirement.Miss.Cox was a member of Central United

Methodist Church in Spokane.Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law,James and

Charlotte Cox of Rt.1.Clinton,a nephew,James A.Cox II and his wife Carol Ann of

Dunwoody,Ga.niece,Pam Rigdby and husband Doug,of Lexington,Ky. great-nephew and

nieces,Gregory C, Alexis and Cary Cox. A memorial is planned next week at Central UMC

with interment in Harrington(Wash) Cemetery.Obituary courtesy of Cox Funeral Home.

Irene V. Leach Foust

Funeral Services were held Monday at Cox Funeral Home in Lake City

for Irene V.Leach Foust,92,of Lake City Rt.1.,Clear Branch community.

Burial was in Foust Cemetery.The Rev.Don Arwood and the Rev.George Delozier officiated.

Mrs.Foust died Sunday at Lake City Health Care where she had resided for several years.

A native of Anderson County,she was homemaker and member of Clear Branch Baptist Church.

Her husband,Roscoe Foust,died in 1970,and a son,Calvin Lawrence Foust,died in 1925.

Survivors include a daughter,Ruth Evonne Foust,and two sons,Harvey Monroe Foust and Curtis Hoover Foust

all of Clinton.

Jack Brown

Jack Brown,61,of Lake City died Friday at the St.Marry's Medical Center.

He was member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church and the VFW Post 6494.He

was an Air Force Veteran.His parents,William and Nellie Brown,a sister,

Virginia Mefford and a brother,Dion Brown preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife,Helen Huckaby of Lake City,step-daughters,

Cindy King of Clinton, Denise Hatmaker of Lake City,step-daughter and

husband,Lisa and Warren Lavender of Wartburg.step-grandchildren,

Mark and Jackie Jo King and Warren Lavender III. a sister, Mildred DeVaney

of Lake City. brothers, Corbin Brown of Eagan, Bob Brown of Lake City,

and Howard Brown of Jacksboro,and half-brother Joe Brown of North Carolina.

Funeral services were held Sunday at Cox Funeral Home Chapel with the

Rev.Garvan Walls officiating.Burial was in Laurel Grove Cemtery/
