Sadie Silocox, 93, of West Union, OH, formerly of Elk Valley, TN, died
December 14th, 2002 at the Adams County Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband. Kelly DeCosto Silcox; children,
Deloris Eder, Pauline Lay, Joyce Blakenship and infant children, Nellie,
Audrey, K.D., Jr..
Mrs. Silcox is survived by her daughters, Osa Jordan, West Union , OH and
Goldie Byrd, Brooklyn, MI; sons, Charles Silcox, Howell, MI, J.T. Silcox,
Westland, MI; 26 grandchildren and a host of great and great great
grandchildren.
Funeral services were December 16th in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral
Home with Reverend Robert Blakenship officiating.
Interment was in Rock House Cemetery.

Elbert Clifton Ayers, 84, of LaFollette died December 14th, 2002 at St.
Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Rachel Ayers; two infant
children, Tommy and Joan Ayers; three brothers, Clay Ayers, Jerry Ayers and
Walter Ayers; two sisters, Ada Ayers and Nanny Scott.
Mr. Ayers is survived by his wife, Joie Leach Ayers; children, Alberta
Powers, LaFollette, Brenda Sue Marlow, Lakeland, FL., Phillip Jerome Ayers,
Cincinnati, OH., LaQuada Hughes, Duff, David Lee Ayers, Pioneer and Bruce
Carson Ayers, LaFollette; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren;
sister, Mary Siler, Pioneer; brother, Ernest Ayers, LaFollette.
Funeral services were December 16th at the Walter's Chapel with the Reverends
Delmus Bruce and Pat Ayers officiating.
Interment was in Ayers Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the
Campbell County Honor Guard.

Woodrow Bales, 81, of Nashville died December 13th , 2002 at Southern Hills
Hospital.
He was preceded by his parents, Albert and Della Trammell Bales; daughter,
Alberta Coulehan.
Mr. Bales is survived by his wife, Theresa Bales, Nashville; son, James A.
Bales, Brentwood, TN; daughters, Joyce Rogers, Brentwood, Susan E. Rabi,
Centerville, OH and one grandchild.
Funeral services were December 16th at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home with
Jim Taylor officiating.
Interment was in Williamson Memorial Gardens with full military honors.

Shelia A. Brown, 48, of Wartburg died December 13th, 2002 in the Roane County
Medical Center of Harriman.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Gary Lee Cox and Elmer Weslie
Brown and father, Earl Cross.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her daughters, Karen Lesher, Oak Ridge and Caressa
Cline, Oak Ridge; son, Nakia Cox, Wartburg; mother, Geraldine Rich Cross,
Wartburg; brothers, Farren Cross, Michael Cross both of Wartburg, Garren
Cross, New Orleans, LA; sisters, Lois Daughtery, Earlene King, Rhonda Cox and
Sandra Long, all of Wartburg; four grandchildren.
Funeral services were December 16th at Schubert Funeral Home Chapel with
Brothers Richard Cox and Johnny Bell officiating.
Interment was in the Liberty Church Cemetery.

Anna Lee Chadwell, 81, of LaFollette died December 11th, 2002 at St. Mary's
Medical Center of Campbell County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Chadwell; daughter, Willa Dean
Wanston; grandson, Mark Chadwell; parents, Alvis and Dora Marlow Hatfield;
brothers, Lonas, Alvis, Jr., Floyd and Dewey Hatfield; sisters. Lily and
Hazel.
Mrs. Chadwell is survived by her sons, Calvin Chadwell , IN, Jack Chadwell,
LaFollette; daughters, Jane Schrock, IN, Melissa Loeser, FL; several
grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren; brother, Dorsey Hatfield,
LaFollette; sisters, Katherine Wier, FL, Georgia Evans, LaFollette.
Funeral services were December 14th in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral
Home with the Reverend Tommy Rogers officiating.
Interment was in Huddleston Cemetery.


Estelle Reese Daugherty, 64, of Montgomery, OH died December 11th, 2002.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Hester Reese; brothers,
Billy Joe and John Earl Reese; sister, Wilma Reese; grandson, Justin
Daughtery.
Mrs. Daughtery is survived by her husband, Stuart Daughtery; son, Major Kevin
Daughtery, London, England; daughter, Kimberly Krautheim, Laurel. MD; three
grandchildren; brothers, Boone, R.L., Jimmy and Jay Reese; sisters, Pauline
Smith and Pat Taylor. Funeral services were December 16th .
Interment was in Rest Haven Memorial Park.

Joie Ford, 90, of Oak Ridge died December 11th, 2002 at Briarcliff Healthcare
in Oak Ridge.
She was preceded in death her parents, Luther and Josephine Ford; sisters,
Delcie , Beulah, Rose, and Leona; brothers, Clarence, Vic, Donald and Jasper
Ford.
Mrs. Ford is survived by her son, Bobby J. Ford, Oak Ridge; two
grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
Graveside services were December 14th at Walters Cemetery with the Reverend
Malcolm Wansley officiating.
Walters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


William F. Higginbotham, Sr., 83, died December 11th, 2002 at St. Mary's
Residential Hospice.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Addison and Exie Farmer
Higginbotham; brother, Charles Higginbotham; sisters, Louise Hazen and Addie
Jewell Daves.
Mr. Higginbotham is survived by his wife, Veta Higginbotham, LaFollette; son,
William Farmer Higginbotham, Jr., Fayetteville, GA; daughters, Anna Gross,
Atlanta, GA, Linda Ridenour, Clinton; six grandchildren.
Funeral services were December 14th at the Cross Funeral Home Chapel with the
Reverend Bill Parrott officiating.
Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Emma Sue Irwin, 60, of LaFollette died December 4th, 2002 at her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Austin Harmon and Maude Landrum
Hatmaker; son Tot McGhee.
Mrs. Irwin is survived by her husband, Kenneth Irwin, LaFollette; son,
Herbert Lynn McGhee, Tampa, FL.; daughters, Lee Ann Hall and Michelle Marian
both of LaFollette; six grandchildren.
Funeral services were December 5th at Cross Funeral Home with the Reverend
Darrell Edwards officiating.
Interment was in Cumberland View Cemetery.


Clyde Kimberlin, 79, of Monroe, MI died December 9th, 2002 at St, Vincent
Mercy Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Emma Love Turner
Kimberlin; brothers, Bill and Silas and sister, Ethel Guy.
Mr. Kimberlin is survived by his wife, June Parrott Kimberlin, Monroe, MI;
brothers, John , Norman, MI and Ovid, Monroe, MI; sister, Alma Edwards,
Speedwell; four grandchildren; one great great grandchild.
Funeral services were December 12th at the Earle Little Funeral Home
Bacarella Chapel with Elders Kenneth Wilson and Charles Murphy officiating.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Park.

Lodena Lawson, 58, of Briceville died December 13th, 2002 at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melford and Lucreasey Lloyd Lawson;
five sisters and three brothers.
Mrs. Lawson is survived by her sister, Opal Mae Johnson, Cleveland, OH;
brothers, Jesse Elbert Lawson, Briceville and Convey Ray Lawson, Briceville.

Rollin D. Murphy, 75, of Monroe, MI died December 14th, 2002 at his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents James Monday and Florida Leach;
brothers, Boyd,Harvey, Aaron, Clyde, Carson and three infant brothers; 13
half brothers and sisters.
Mr. Murphy is survived by his wife, Lorraine R. Monday; sons, Roger Monday,
Carleton, MI and Kenneth Monday, Monroe, MI; brothers, Gideon Monday, Monroe,
MI and Carl Monday, LaFollette; sisters, Melvada Marlow, Monroe, MI and Emma
Goins, LaFollette; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were December 17th, 2002 at the Stewart Road Church of God
Monroe, MI
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Park.

Lucy Ethel Morgan, 68, of LaFollette died December 13th, 2002 at Sunbridge
Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Betty McCarty Pierce;
sister, Mary Walden.
Mrs. Morgan is survived by her son, Larry Mozingo, Fayetteville, OH;
daughters, Mary Salyers, Jacksboro, Mae Caddell, Fayetteville, OH, Barbara
Thacker, LaFollette, Martha Robbins, Jacksboro; 10 grandchildren; six
grandchildren; sister, Imogene VanPatton, LaFollette; brothers, Arthur and
Ernest Pierce both of LaFollette and Buck Pierce, Strawberry Plains.
Funeral services were December 15th, 2002 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with
the Reverends Howard Goins and J.R. Kitts officiating.
Interment was in Braden Cemetery.


Jo Lee Russell, 59, of LaFollette died December 15th, 2002 at her home.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harvey Lee Smith; brother, Layton
Marlowe, Sr.
Mrs. Russell is survived by her sons, Joe Russell, Knoxville, Jeff Russell,
Cleveland; daughters, Cheryl Griffith, Jacksboro, Mona Lambert, Maryville;
seven grandchildren; mother, Marie Josephine Couberth, LaFollette; brothers,
Roy Marlowe, Orlanda, FL., Lonnie Marlowe, LaFollette.
Funeral services were December 18th at the House of Prayer and Praise with
Reverends Charles Lovely and Mike Franklin officiating.
Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery.

William Hoyle Smith, 69, of Speedwell died December 12th, 2002 at the
University of Tennessee Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hodge and Rosie Standifer Smith.
Mr. Smith is survived by his brothers, Hurle Smith, LaFollette and Earlie
Smith, Speedwell; sisters, Ruth Salyers and Violet Dykes both of Speedwell
and Cleo Richardson, LaFollette.
Funeral services were December 15th at the Martin-Wilson Chapel with
Reverends Charles Goins and Chester Blue officiating.
Interment was in Green Cemetery.


Everett Marshall Stewart, 76, of LaFollette died December 11th, 2002 at St.
Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Ada Ward Stewart;
brother, Danny Stewart.
Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife, Deborah Stewart, LaFollette; sons, Bruce
Stewart, Cincinnati, OH, Thomas Stewart, Chicopee, MA, Michael Stewart,
Knoxville, Everett Stewart,Jr., VA; daughters, Kimberly Winchester, KY,
Peggie Pollard, CA, Connie Antilla, FL; 14 grandchildren and eight
grandchildren.
Funeral services were December 14th in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral
Home with Reverend Jimmy Orick officiating.
Interment was in Campbell Memorial Gardens with full military honors by the
Campbell County Honor Guard.


Melanie Woodson, 36, of Saline, MI died December 10th, 2002.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Eugene Dossette, Carl Woodson,
Sr. and Vanda Lee Woodson.
Mrs. Woodson is survived by her son, Mark Anthony Capaldi; parents, Carl and
Thersa Dossette Woodson, MI; grandmother, Gladys Housley,LaFollette.
Funeral services were December 14th in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral
Home with the Reverend J.L. Shoun officiating.
Interment was in Campbell Memorial Gardens.
