Gertrude Frances Baird, 86, of Nicholasville, Kentucky, died October 21st,
2002 at Central Baptist Hospital in Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by son, Jack McArthur Thomas.
Mrs. Baird is survived by son, Frank Thomas, Jr., Kentucky; daughters, Norma
Jean Swanner, Ada Lou Miller and Patsy Jane Black, all of Kentucky; five
grandchildren, six great grandchildren.
Funeral services were October 24th at the Harp Funeral Home Chapel with the
Reverend Arvil E. Lewallen officiating.
Interment was in Douglas Cemetery.
Floyd Elmer Bruce, 76, of LaFollette died October 23rd, 2002 at St. Mary's
Medical Center of Campbell County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Garrett F. and Margaret Campbell
Bruce.
Mr. Bruce is survived by his wife Vina Bruce, LaFollette; sons, Larry Dennis
Bruce and John Earl Bruce, both of LaFollette; daughters, Judith Ann
Sturgill and Lynda Lou Konrad, both of Ohio; 13 grandchildren, 15 great
grandchildren; brothers, Raymond and James Bruce of Washington, Reverend
Carlo and Delmus, Ray and Vernon Bruce all of LaFollette, Ed Bruce, Norris;
sisters, Jessie Dople Hicks and Willie V. Dople Hicks both of Jellico.
Funeral services were October 26th in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral
Home with the Reverend Pat Ayers officiating.
Interment was in Peabody Cemetery.
Albert Brummet, 80, of Williamsburg, Kentucky died October 23rd, 2002 at the
Jellico Community Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Jane Brummett.
Mr. Brummett is survived by his sons Eddie Wayne Brummett, Kentucky and
Eddie Wayne Brummett, Jellico and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were October 27th at the Harp Funeral Home Chapel with the
Reverend Ellis Hoskins officiating..
Interment was in Jellico Cemetery. Military Honors were conducted.
Frank Coleman, 75, of Harrogate died October 21st. 2002.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Albert and Nora Argie Omega
Hyatt Coleman; first wife, Mossie Louella Fultz Coleman; son, Elmer V.
Coleman; sisters, Nancy Coleman Templin and Evelyn Coleman Sharp; brothers,
John Tipton Coleman. Roscoe Hyatt Coleman and Rando Whyatt Coleman.
Mr. Coleman is survived by his wife, Nora Marie Coleman; daughters, Debbie
Lewis, Shelia Bailey and Trina Green; sons, Roy Coleman and James Coleman;
sisters, Helen Richardson, Charolette Branstetter and Susie Taylor; half
brothers, Albert, Johnny, Ricky, Larry, and Billy Coleman; seven
grandchildren and four great granchildren.
Funeral services were October 23rd at the Reece Valley Chapel with Reverend
s Tip Moore, Elbert Hunley and Hobart McCreary officiating.
Interment was in the Scott Cemetery.
Lassie Ann Jones, 90, of LaFollette died October 22nd, 2002 at Baptist
Health Care Center in Knoxville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Silas and Tisie Parrott Jones;
brothers, Casper and Herman Jones; sisters, Cecil Rowelette, Ella Kimberlin
and Hattie Miller.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her nieces, Linda Adkins, Clinton, Lovanna East,
Lenoir City; nephews, George Jones and Doyle Kimberlin both of LaFollette.
Funeral services were October 25th in the Chapel of the Martin Wilson
Funeral Home with the Reverend Chris Nelson officiating.
Interment was in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
Michael David Hatmaker, 40, of Speedwell died October 20th, 2002 at the
Claiborne County Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Hatmaker, step-father, Bill
Massey, grandparents, Kermit and Evelyn Hatmaker.
Mr. Hatmaker is survived by his mother, Patsy Evans; brother, Mark Hatmaker;
sisters, Melissa Johnson and Sandy Farmer; grandparents Irene and Fitue
Patterson.
Funeral services were October 22nd at the Reece Valley Chapel with Preston
Smith officiating.
Interment was in Greenhills Memorial Gardens.
Mildred Lena Bryant Like, 81, Of Speedwell died at the home of the home of
her niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Edward Bryant and Mary
Ellen Shotten; husband, James; brother, Sam Bryant and niece Rosa Lee
Bryant.
Mrs. Like is survived by her nieces, Slyvia Bennett and Ginger McNew, both
of Tazewell; nephew, Larry Bryant of Michigan; 9 great nieces and nephwes;
five great great nephews and one great great niece.
Funeral services were October 26th at the Reece Valley Chapel with Reverend
Bill Gaylor officiating
Interment was in Greasy Hollow Cemetery.
Trishia Anne Norman McGhee, 46, of LaFollette died in April 2002.
She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Joe Norman; grandparents,
Mattie Ellison, Bill Wilhoit and George and Ella Norman.
Ms. McGhee is survived by her mother Lillian F. Lively; brother, Joey Steven
Lively and half sister Sherri Norman, all of LaFollette.
Graveside services were October 27th in Campbell Memorial Gardens with the
Reverend James Adkins officiating.
Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Oliver F. Meredith, 73, of Waterford, Michigan died August 28th, 2002.
He was preceded in death by his parents Pryor and Verna Sharp Meredith and
brother, Charles.
Mr. Meredith is survived by his wife Lena Risden Meredith; sons, Larry
Meredith, Mark Meredith; daughters, Kathy Mullins, Diana Bland, all of
Michigan and daughter Mary Woolum of Jacksboro; brother, Buford Meredith,
Michigan; sister, Ada Meredith, Caryville; six grandchildren and three great
grandchildren.
Funeral services were August 31st in Michigan.
Mark Pittman, 35, of Jellico died October 26th, 2002 in Williamsburg,
Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosella Thomas Pittman.
Mr. Pittman is survived by his wife, Annette Pittman; step-daughters, Tina
Chandler and Misty Childress; step=son, Billy Stanfield, Jr., all of
Williamsburg; six grandchildren; father, Johnny Pittman, Clairfield;
brothers, Johnny Arvilee Pittman, Louisana, Jimmy Lee Pittman, New York,
Kenneth Pittman and Jerry Pittman, Duff, Dennis Pittman and Charlie Pittman,
Clairfield; sisters, Mary Byrd, Duff, Joyce Huddleston and Virginia Adkins,
Clairfield.
Funeral services were October 30th at the Clairfield Baptist Church with the
Reverend Floyd King officiating.
Interment was in Clairfield Cemetery.
Cox and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Vergie Geneva (Granny) Bunch Seiber, 82, died October 24th, 2002 at
Sunbridge Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen F. Seiber; daughter, Glena
Ruth; parents, A.T. and Maggie Bunch; brothers, Otha, Paul and Clifford
Bunch.
Mrs. Seiber is survived by her daughter, Helen Harrington; sons, Bill
Seiber, F. Randal Seiber, Thomas G. Seiber; 17 grandchildren; 11 great
grandchildren; sisters, Iva Breeden, Juanita Hickman; brother, Harrison
Bunch.
Funeral services were October 25th at the Rose Mortuary Chapel with
Reverends Herbert Jones and Ernest Ward officiating.
Interment was in Willoughby Cemetery.
Rose Mortuary, Broadway Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Hugh Douglas Stills, 67, of LaFollette died October 23rd, 2002 at St. Mary's
Medical Center of Campbell County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luke Spencer and Sue Ella (Lupert)
Stills.
Mr. Stills is survived by his wife, Elaine Stills, LaFollette; step-sons,
Danny, Marty, and Doug, all of Californa; step- daughters, Verlane,
LaFollette and Zena, Californa; 9 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
No services were planned.
Cross Funeral was in charge.
Roy Sullivan, 61, of Harriman died October 25th, 2002 at the University of
Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen; parents, Roy Edward and
Anna Mae Sullivan.
Mr. Sullivan is survived by his daughters, Kim Williams, Lake City, Becky
Moore, Harriman, Rhoda Sullivan and Bridgett Sullivan; sons, Ricky Sullivan,
Georgia and Roy Edward Sullivan, Texas; sisters, Wanda Hill, Clinton;
brother, Charles Lee, Georgia.
Funeral services were October 27th in the Chapel of the Holley- Gamble
Funeral Home.
Interment was in Sunset Cemetery.
Ella Mae Brewer Welch, 84, of Speedwell died October 26th, 2002.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Welch; parents, Howard
and Maude Grubb Brewer; brothers, Oscar Kelly and Jessie Brewer; sisters,
Hazel Mayhew and Lassie Yoakum.
Mrs. Welch is survived by her sons, Benny Frank Welch, Georgia and James
Howard Welch, Speedwell; daughters, Peggy Heck and Billie England, both of
Lafollette, Pat Monday and Judy Bolinger, both of Speedwell; brothers,
Kermit Brewer, Corryton and James Brewer, Chattanooga; sister, Ruth Norman,
Florida; 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 13 great great
grandchildren.
Funeral services were October 28th at the Reece Valley Chapel with Reverends
Dewayne Graves, Larry Beeler and Dewayne Kell officiating.
Interment was in Welch Cemetery.
Reece Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
