Paul L. Carroll, 71, of Warren, MI, formerly of LaFollette died October 11,
2002 in Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Minnie Ford Carroll;
brother, Reverend Theodore Carroll, Reverend Roy Carroll, Reverend Henderson
Carroll and Harlen Carroll.
Mr. Carroll is survived by his daughters Kathy and Paula of Michigan and
four grandchildren.
Funeral services were October 12th at Ball Sharp Funeral Home in Fenton,
Michigan.

Billy Earl Clouse, 60, of LaFollette died October 8th, 2002 at the Methodist
Medical Center in Oak Ridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Martha Pierce Clouse
and brother, Archie Clouse.
Mr. Clouse is survived by his wife, Pearlie Clouse of LaFollette; sisters,
Dottie Burgess, Sarah Collingsworth and Hazel McGhee, all of LaFollette,
Ruth Orick and Helen Smith of Jacksboro.
Funeral services were October 10th in the Chapel at Martin Wilson Funeral
with Reverend Carl Edwards and Brother Sammy Mitchell officiating.
Interment was at Campbell Memorial Gardens.
Marie (Ward) Disney, 68, of LaFollette, died October 13th, 2002.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dane E. Disney; parents, Noah and
Effie (Bowling) Ward; brother, Jesse Ward and sister, Irene Ward.
Mrs. Disney is survived by her son, Danny Disney, one granddaughter; sister,
Willa Newport, Jacksboro; brothers, Bobby Ward, Sam Ward, and Joe Ward all
of Jacksboro, Oliver Ward and Paul Ward both of Caryville.
Funeral services were October 15th at Cross Chapel with Reverend Joey
Rutherford and Reverend Joby Byrge officiating.
Interment was October 16th at Campbell Memorial Gardens.
Mary Delena Douglas, 82, of Jellico died October 12th, 2002 at St. Mary's
Medical Center in Knoxville.
She is survived by her brother Charles Dople of Woolridge, Tenn. and one
grandchild.
Funeral services were October 15th at Harp Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend
Francis Dople, Jr. and Reverend David Morgan officiating.
Interment was in Douglas Cemetery.
Wilma Hawkins, 61, of Cookeville died October 13th, 2002 at Cookeville
Regional Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her father, Hubert Sexton.
Mrs. Hawkins is survived by her daughter, Darlene Smith, Michigan; sons,
Duane Rhea, Cookeville and Tommy Rhea, Norris; mother, Rosetta Sexton, Lake
City; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren; sisters Mary Sexton,
Lake City, Marie Hayes of Michigan; brothers, Johnnie ,Henry, and Junior
Sexton.
Funeral services will be October 17th ( Thursday) at 10am in the Chapel of
Holley- Gamble Funeral Home with Reverend Justin Phillips officiating.
Interment will be after the funeral at Leach Cemetery.
Curtis Roger Mefford, 80, of LaFollette died October 8th , 2002 at U.T.
Medical Center in Knoxville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alzono and Ida Duncan Mefford;
Theodore Mefford and one sister.
Mr. Mefford is survived by his wife, Susie Mefford, LaFollette; son Darrell
Wilson of Georgia; daughters Linda Jones, LaFollette and Ida Bowling of
Jacksboro; three grandchildren; brothers, Herman Mefford, Jacksboro, J.R.
Mefford, Alabama, Clifford Mefford, LaFollette and John L. Mefford, Ohio;
sister Mary Lou Phillips, Jacksboro.
Funeral services were October 11th in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral
Home with the Reverend Clarence Duncan and Reverend Jasper Walden
officiating.
Interment was October 12th at Baker's Forge Cemetery.
William C. Meredith, Sr., 80, of Knoxville died October 13th , 2002 at his
home.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; sons, Clayton Meredith, Jr., Jerry
Meredith, and Tom Meredith all of Knoxville, Tim Meredith, Georgia; eight
grandchildren, six great grandchildren; brother, Arnold Meredith; sisters,
Colleen Myers and Alberta Smith.
Funeral services were October 15th at Mynatt's Chapel with Reverend Robert
Holt officiating.
Interment was at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Donald Joe Morris, Sr., 61, of LaFollette died October 3rd, 2002 at his
home.
He was preceded in death by his father Charles Morris.
Mr. Morris is survived by his wife, Cecile Morris, LaFollette; sons, Donald
Morris, Jr., Clinton, Roger Lee Morris, Jeffery Ray Morris, LaFollette;
Kelly Lawerence , Mass. ; daughter, Jodi Nutting all of Mass.; mother,
Gladys Morris; brothers, Wayne Morris and Sam Morris, both of LaFollette;
sisters, Pat White and Brenda Parrott both of Crossville.
Funeral services were October 7th in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral
Home with Reverend Darryl Griffith officiating.
Interment was in Campbell Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Howard Edward Shepard, of Atlanta, Georgia, died October 11th, 2002 at Haven
House Hospice.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Eddie Shepard.
Mr. Shepard is survived by his mother, Novella Shepard; son, Charles
Shepard, Fairbanks, Alaska; daughter, Andrea Exum, Chattanoonga; two
grandchildren; sister, Hazel Rearden, Atlanta, Georgia.
The Eulogy was given October 13th at the Martin Wilson Chapel with Father
Michael Exum officiating.
Interment was at Grantsboro Cemetery.
Lloyd A. Tolliver, 92, of LaFollette died October 9th, 2002 , at St.Mary's
Medical Center of Campbell County.
He is survived by his wife, Edith Sumner Tolliver, LaFollette; son, George
Tolliver, Somanauk, Illinois; one grandchild and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were October 12th at the Cross Chapel with brother James
Wesson officiating.
Interment was at Baker's Forge Cemetery.
Evelyn G. Gibson York, 92, of Anderson, Indiana died October 11th, 2002 at
St. John's Health Systems in Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie York; son, Jay Ronald York;
parents, Frank and Minne (Chambers) Gibson, Sr.; sister, Latrina Fox and
brother, Frank Gibson, Sr..
Mrs. York is survived by two grandchildren; three great granchildren;
sisters, Muriel Bailey of Californa and Clara Queener of Nashville.
Funeral services were October 15th at the Robert D. Loose Funeral Home.
Interment was at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to the Elk Valley Baptist Church.

Monnie Mae White, 80, of Jacksboro died October 14th, 2002 at St. Mary's
Medical Center of Campbell County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie White; daughter, Pansy
Hooks, parents, Henry and Lattie Sharp Cooper; brothers Bill, Frank, and
Alonzo; sister, Mossie Crutchfiled.
Mrs. White is survived by sons, James R. (Jim) ; Roger Lee; Billy Franklin
White all of Jacksboro; Tommy Wayne White of Lake City; daughter Kathy
Goins, Jacksboro; 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sister Mary
Daugherty, Jacksboro.
Funeral services will be 2pm October 17th at Indian Creek Baptist Church
with the Reverend Randy Comer and Brother Vance Irwin officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Ruby White, 64, of Clinton, died October 11th, 2002 died at Methodist
Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband Howard White; parents Noah and
Beulah Cox Chapman; brothers Charles and Robert Chapman
Mrs. White is survived by her daughter Linda Gale, Clinton; four
grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brothers, Harrison (Cabbage)
Chapman, Tommy Chapman, Knoxville, Paul and Howard Chapman both of
LaFollette; sisters, Helen Smith, North Carolina, Mae Tuscher, LaFollette,
Jean Hicks, Clinton and Sue Mitchell, Texas.
Funeral services were October 14th at Davis Chapel Community Baptist Church
with the Reverend Marty Stooksbury officiating.
Interment was at Sunrise Cemetery.
Cross Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Ethel "Dean" Whitson Thomas, 83, of Jellico, died October 8th, 2002 at
Jellico Community Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fate and Ada Peterson Whitson;
husband, Robert Thomas; daughter, Wanda; sister, Mae; brother, Charles.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by her sons, Ray Thomas, Jim Thomas, George Thomas,
Lowell Thomas; daughters, Betty Branam, Joyce McNealy, Deborah Owens; 25
grandchildren; 28 great granchildren.
Funeral services were October 10th at the Cox and Son Chapel with the
Reverend Jerome Walden and Reverend Phillip Jackson officiating.
Interment was at the Marlow Cemetery at Roses Creek.
Ronald Terry (Donnie) Wilkerson, of Jacksboro died October 5th, 2002 at Fort
Sanders Regional Medical Center, Knoxville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Rose Bernince
Wilkerson; brothers, James Willaim Violette and George Wayne Wilkerson.
Mr. Wilkerson is survived by the mother of his children and caregiver,
Carolyn, Jacksboro; daughter, Terri York, LaFollette; sons, Stacy Wilkerson
and Ronald Terry Wilkerson II, both of Jacksboro; three grandchildren;
sisters, Ann Stout, Knoxville, Linda Kelton Cagle, Knoxville and LaFollette;
brother, Ernest Wilkerson, GA.
Funeral services were October 8th, at Walters Chapel with Reverend Ralph
Cordell officiating.
The family requested private interment services.
