BURUM, MR. CARL - age 63, a resident of Oliver Springs,
JONES, REV. JAMES FRANKLIN, SR. - age 83 of Oak Ridge,
MOORE, ORVILLE "RED" - age 58 of the Claxton Community,

BURUM, MR. CARL - age 63, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away Thursday,
September 19, 2002 at St. Mary's Residential Hospice of Knoxville.
Arrangements are incomplete at Sharp Funeral Home.

JONES, REV. JAMES FRANKLIN, SR. - age 83 of Oak Ridge, passed away Thursday
September 19, 2002 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was a
member of Valley View Baptist Church. He was a retired carpenter with Rust
Engineering. He was also a retired Baptist minister. He was a United States
Army veteran who served during World War II. Preceded in death by daughter,
Carolyn Jones; parents, Luther & Martha Phillips Jones; sisters, Mossie
Huskey; brother, Sammy Jones. Rev. Jones was born May 18, 1919 in Campbell
County. Survivors: wife of 62 years, Vandetta Jones of Oak Ridge; daughter,
Judy Towns & husband, Harvey of Clinton; sons, Rev. James F. Jones, Jr. &
wife, Sandra of Harriman, Robert Jones of Titusville, Fla., Gary Jones &
wife, Theresa of Winter Garden, Fla.; grandchildren, Stephen Jones, Rachel
Ogle, Anna Ruth Young, Pamela Phillips, Tricia Lane, Regina Webster &
Stephanie Huddleston; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Ada Gardner of Oak
Ridge, Dinah Cook of Clinton; several nieces & nephews. The family will
receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2002 at Holley-Gamble Funeral
Home in Clinton. Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday in the chapel
with Rev. Allen Giles, Rev. John Hunley & Rev. James Jones, Jr. officiating.
Interment will follow the service in Valley View Cemetery. Memorials may be
made to Valley View Baptist Church 1018 Old Dutch Valley Road, Clinton, Tenn.

MOORE, ORVILLE "RED" - age 58 of the Claxton Community, gave up his
courageous fight against cancer when he joined the Lord on Wednesday
September 18, 2002 at the Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital in Knoxville. He was
an active member & deacon at Riverview Baptist Church where he also served as
a Sunday school teacher & church treasurer. He was a United States Navy
veteran. He was very active in World Changers & Habitat for Humanity. Orville
was a member & Past Master of Clinton Alpha Lodge No. 376 and a member of the
Eastern Star Chapter No. 193. He had worked for approximately 30 years as a
machinist with TVA until retiring in 1995. He was a member of the
International Association of Machinist Local No. 65. He was an avid golfer &
also a UT Vol fan, working as a UT Football Usher for many years. Pop enjoyed
spending time with his grandchildren, taking them on camping trips. One of
his greatest joys was reading & spending time with his grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents, John & Katherine Moore; sister, Martha Jeanette
Devine; brothers, Gerald, Grady, Roy & Donnie Moore. Orville was born
December 21, 1943 in Jackson, Tenn. Survivors: loving wife of 36 years, Linda
Barnette Moore of Claxton; daughter, Melissa Williford & husband, Bill of
Claxton; son, Bryan Moore of Clinton; grandchildren, Haley Moore, Caleb
Williford; step grandsons, Billy & Jeff Williford; sister, Charlene Barnette &
husband, Tony of Jackson; brothers, Thomas Moore of Fayetteville, NC, Owen
Moore & wife, Alice of Jackson, Paul Moore & wife, Ginger of Memphis,
Clarence Moore of Memphis; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The
family wishes to thank the nurses & physicians at Thompson Cancer Center &
Ft. Sanders Regional for their compassion, love & support during Orville's
battle with cancer. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday September
20, 2002 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with a Masonic service
following the visitation. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at
Riverview Baptist Church in Claxton with Rev. Don Hensley officiating
Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery where deacons & friends will
service as pallbearers. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home of Clinton in charge of
all arrangements.
