JEFFERY LYNN WEATHERSPOON, 45, of Oak Ridge, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, at
Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
He was born April 1, 1957, in Oak Ridge, the son of Henry and Frankie
Weatherspoon, who are deceased. He lived in Monroe, Miss., with an aunt and
uncle, Isophene Weatherspoon and the late M.D. Weatherspoon, for most of his
childhood.
Mr. Weatherspoon had served with the United States Army and the United States
Navy. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Kim Ramona Alley Weatherspoon; three
daughters, Krystal Marie Weatherspoon, Jennifer Ramona Weatherspoon, and
Amana Jean Weatherspoon, a senior at Oak Ridge High School; his twin brother,
Gregory Weatherspoon and his wife, Brenda, of Jackson, Miss.; and his
sisters, Deloise Weatherspoon and Dorothy Holmes, both of Memphis.
In addition to his uncle, M.D. Weatherspoon, he was preceded in death by a
brother, James Weatherspoon, and by a sister, Doris Weatherspoon.
The funeral was held Saturday, Sept. 7, at Calvary Baptist Church with the
Rev. Steve McDonald officiating.
A graveside service was held Sunday afternoon, Sept. 8, at Oak Ridge Memorial
Park.
The family asks that any memorials be in the form of donations to the Mission
Fund at Calvary Baptist Church, 163 N. Jefferson Circle, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
Weatherford Mortuary handled the arrangements.
TANYA LEE CRRMICAL, 42, of Oak Ridge, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2002, at the home
of her parents.
She was born June 12, 1960, in Knoxville, and moved to Oak Ridge with her
family when she was 2.
She was a 1978 graduate of Oak Ridge High School and while a student was
listed in the "Who's Who" directory for American high school students.
Miss Carmical was a Web developer for Bechtel for the last 20 years, and she
was a member of Heritage Fellowship Church. She enjoyed working at the Oak
Ridge Community Playhouse helping with makeup, and also enjoyed growing roses
and working in her rose garden.
She is survived by her parents, Shirley Lee and Patricia Walker Carmical of
Oak Ridge; her grandparents, Reba Towle and Lorena Spurling, both of
Knoxville; her brother, Timothy Lee Carmical and his wife, Traci, of Oak
Ridge, and their daughter, Leslie Elizabeth Carmical; and several aunts and
uncles, including a special aunt, Carol Carmical of Galveston, Texas.
Her dog, Harley, was her faithful companion.
The funeral was held Sunday, Sept. 8, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary
with the Rev. Fred Garmon officiating.
A graveside service was to be held at 10:30 this morning, Sept. 9, at Oak
Ridge Memorial Park.
The family asks that any memorials be in the form of donations to the

WILLIAM CRAWFORD BRIDGES, 80, of Oak Ridge, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002 at
Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
He was born March 5, 1922, in Cool Springs, N.C., the son of Tillman Crawford
Bridges and Annie Doggett Bridges. He graduated from Cool Springs High School
in 1941.
Mr. Bridges was a United States Air Force veteran of World War II, serving
with the 558th Army Air Force Base Unit. He was a prisoner of war and was
interned in Switzerland.
He was an aerial engineer on B-24 Liberator bombers based in England and
worked as an airplane power plant mechanic 1684. Mr. Bridges received the
European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with three Bronze Stars, one
service stripe, two overseas service bars, the air medal and the oak
clusters.
He began work with the Atomic Energy Commission in 1947 and continued with
its successor agencies, the Energy Research and Development Administration
and the Department of Energy, retiring from DOE in 1980 as an inspector.
He family said he enjoyed working with mechanical equipment and gardening and
he loved being with his family and friends.
Mr. Bridges is survived by his daughters, Sharon Ann Guymon and her husband,
Greg, and Beverly Jo Taylor and her husband, Lynn, all of Clinton, and
Carolyn Jane Jones and her husband, Mike, of Cumming, Ga.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Matthew Guymon and his fiancée,
Michelle Jackson, and Jonathan Guymon and his wife, Jana, all of Oak Ridge,
William Guymon and his fiancée, Ashley, of Knoxville, Mark Taylor and Eric
Taylor, both of Clinton, and Michael Jones of Cumming; and his
great-grandchildren, Edward Guymon of Paducah, Ky., Noah Guymon and Joseph
Guymon, both of Oak Ridge, and Koby Guymon of Knoxville.
Also surviving are his sister-in-law, Martha Bridges of Knoxville; his
brother, Tillman Eugene "Gene" Bridges and his wife, Barbara, of Stone
Mountain, Ga.; and his sisters, Nan Nation of Mount Holly, N.C., and Eva
Pruitt of Ellenboro, N.C.
Ted and Bernice Mueller, Ray Foster and all his East Drive neighbors, and
Katherine Huckaby of Clinton were considered special friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bridges was preceded in death by his wife,
Margaret Josephine Scarbrough Bridges, who died in 1991; two other sisters,
Hazel Sparks and Ester Bridges; and another brother, Joe Bridges.
The funeral will be held at 8 tonight, Sept. 9, in the chapel of Weatherford
Mortuary with the Rev. Charles Mattson officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Oak Ridge
Memorial Park with members of the Volunteer State War Era Honor Guard
providing full military rites.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to Trinity
United Methodist Church, 320 Robertsville Road, Oak Ridge, TN 37830; or to
Clinch River Home Health, 401 Sulphur Springs Road, Clinton, TN 37716.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the mortuary.
FERRIL R. MOORE, 68, of Claxton, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, at St. Mary's
Medical Center in Knoxville.
He was the son of Carman L. and Bertha Goins Moore, who are deceased.
Mr. Moore attended the University of Tennessee for two years. He was a farmer
in Knox and Anderson counties and was a former director of the Knox Farmers
Co-op.
Mr. Moore was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Heiskell and a member of
the Powell Masonic Lodge F&AM, No. 582.
His wife of 46 years, Evelyn Fritz Moore, is deceased.
Mr. Moore is survived by two sisters, Vivian Moore of Powell and Brenda
Fresch and her husband, Charlie, of Sandusky, Ohio; and several nieces and
nephews, including three nieces he considered special, Pam Murphy and Sandra
Bryant, both of Powell, and Veronica Roberts of Tampa, Fla.
In addition to his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister
and a brother, Kathleen Meyers and Roy Lynn Moore.
The funeral will be held at 8 tonight, Sept. 9, at Calvary Baptist Church,
Raccoon Valley Road, Heiskell. The Rev. Harold Ogle and the Rev. Dan Griffey
will officiate.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Zion
Baptist Church Cemetery in Claxton. Pallbearers will be Phillip Murphy, Jim
Jones, Steve Farmer, Tim Patt, Jeff Lawless and Mike Loy. Stanley Johnson,
Jimmy Davis, Squire Ogle, Kenneth Soloman, Steve Sharitts and Tim George were
named honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the church.
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is handling the arrangements.
LINDA KAY HUCKABY, 48, of Claxton, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2002, at her home.
Mrs. Huckaby is survived by her husband of 34 years, Paul Huckaby; her son,
David Mack Huckaby and his wife, Susie, of Lake City; two brothers, Esco Cox
and his wife, Betty, of Lake City, and Frank Cox of Ohio; three sisters, Loua
Poore and Mary Carden and her husband, Lee, all of Lake City, and Maxene
Hilton of Kentucky; and two grandchildren.
The funeral was held Saturday, Sept. 7, in the chapel of Cox-Martin Funeral
Home in Lake City with the Rev. Chris Thomas officiating.
A graveside service was held Sunday, Sept. 8, at Glenn Foust Cemetery in Lake
City.
ALMA M. WALKER, 93, of Lake City, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2002, at Lake City
Health Care Center.
Mrs. Walker is survived by her nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Sunday, Sept. 8, in the chapel of Cox-Martin Funeral
Home in Lake City with the Rev. James Lane and the Rev. Lynn Mowery
officiating.
Burial followed at Leach Cemetery in Lake City.
MARY EDNA FRITTS of Oak Ridge, formerly of Oliver Springs, died this morning,
Sept. 9, 2002, at Briarcliff Health Care Center.
Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs is handling the arrangements, which were
incomplete this morning.
