Gordon N. Sexton, 89, of Lenoir City,
Annie Marie Goodykoontz, 65, of Clinton,

GORDON H. SEXTON, 89, of Lenoir City, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at his
home.
Mr. Sexton was a member of the Presbyterian church. He was a retired
inspector with the Department of Energy and served with the U.S. Army in the
Pacific Theater of World War II.
He was a avid bowler and a former Senior Olympian, holding a national title
in bowling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Othenal and Elizabeth Sexton, and a
sister and two brothers, Agatha Hampton, Fred Sexton and Jim Sexton.
Mr. Sexton is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lois Dunn Sexton; three
children, Dana Freshour of Lenoir City, Terri Tallent of Loudon and Nanette
Fritts of LaPlace, La.; a sister, Linda Evans of Houston, Texas; and by seven
grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, in the chapel of Click
Funeral Home in Lenoir City with Dick DeMerchant officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at the
Lakeview Cemetery. Herb Freshour, Donnie Tallent, Jim Fritts, Donald Shell,
John Matejcek and Rodney Jones will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral
home.
ANNIE MARIE GOODYKOONTZ, 65, of Clinton, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at St.
Mary's Hospice.
Mrs. Goodykoontz is survived by her husband, Bill C. Goodykoontz; two
daughters, June Phillips of Duluth, Ga., and Jackie Tedder and her husband,
Donnie, of Douglasville, Ga.; her brothers, Odell Osborn of Knoxville and
Hugh Osborn of Guy; and by five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and
several nieces and nephews.
Chris Harris of Clinton was considered her dearest friend.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Charles Lynn Goodykoontz and David
Scott Goodykoontz, and a sister, Louise Phelps.
A memorial service will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at
Anderson County Funeral Home in Clinton.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to St.
Mary's Hospice, 7447 Andersonville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37938.
KATHLEEN SCHULTZ, Oak Ridge, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2000, at her home.
Weatherford Mortuary in charge of arrangements, which were incomplete this
morning.
