ELSIE A. JOHNSON, 91, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, at the home of her sister,
Elizabeth Beeler of Oak Ridge.
Mrs. Johnson was a former resident of South Knoxville and was retired from
Hamilton National Bank.
She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Knoxville.
In addition to her sister, Mrs. Johnson is survived by several nieces,
nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen M. Johnson; her parents,
George Arthur and Osie Mae Altom; and her brother, Noel Altom.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at Mount Olive Baptist
Church, Maryville Pike, Knoxville. The Rev. Deron Cobb will officiate.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the church.
Berry Funeral Home in Knoxville is handling the arrangements.

SHIRLEY IMOGENE KIRBY, 74, of Kingston, died Monday night, Aug. 12, 2002, at
Roane Medical Center in Harriman.
Mrs. Kirby was born June 3, 1928. She was the daughter of Mary Katherine
Branham-Fields and William McKennley Branham, who are deceased.
She was a member of Trenton Street Baptist Church in Harriman. Her family
said she had been baptized at the age of 13 by Pastor Sparks. She will be
remembered for her braided bread and pastries, they said, adding that she had
many loving friends.
Mrs. Kirby is survived by her husband, Charles R. Kirby; three brothers,
Jesse Powers Branham, William E. Branham and his wife, Elsie, and Melvin A.
Branham and his wife, Loretta; two sisters, Louise Crowe and Nadine J.
Bagwell and her husband, Thomas D. Bagwell; two stepchildren, Brenda and
Eddie Kirby; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe
Lee Branham and Harold Branham; three sisters, Agatha L. Zemitias, Theda
Louise Reynolds and Mildred J. Clifton; and a sister-in-law, Diane Branham.
The body was cremated.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to
Hospitality House, 210 W. Tennessee Ave., Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
Kyker Funeral Home in Kingston is handling the arrangements.

ODESSA VANN, 66, of Oliver Springs, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at her
home.
Sharp Funeral Home is handling the arrangements, which were incomplete this
morning.

WOODROE MCGHEE, 83, of Kodak, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at Mariner
Health of Norris.
Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs is handling the arrangements, which were
incomplete this morning.
