Darryl,

Have you checked in "Caryville Through The Years"? Unfortunately, I don't have the name of the author, as I only have bits and pieces of it, but on page 118 (the last pg I have) there is quite alot about Abraham Wilson and his family. It may continue beyond that.

Best Wishes!

Subject: [TNCAMPBE-L] Elijah Wilson and Lucy A. Longmire

Hello,
I am searching for Elijah Wilson that was born in 1840 and married
Lucy A. Longmire. This is my wife's line. I connected with a subject on
Lucy's family here. But I cannot connect to Elijah or Lige as some
called him. I have spoke with his oldest living descendant and she said
that he came from the Smoky Mountains. However, I can't find him
anywhere there. She told stories that Elijah's father (unknown to her)
went hunting in the mountains. He was not found. They found his gun
fired empty, but no one around. They suspect that he was captured by the
Cherokee Indians. The other one is that Elijah went hunting as a young
man and he was captured by them, but he escaped.
On my maternal grandmother's side, Mary Louisa "Molly" WILSON Byrge,
her father was Abraham Wilson. He was born in 1810 in NC somewhere. Abe
first married Sarah Bullock. She died and he married very late in his
life again to Louisa Curnutt. They had four children, one of which was
my grandmother, Molly. Abe was 78 when my grandmother was born!!! Whew!
He died when she was four.
Anyways, if anyone can connect to Elijah please let me know, as I
finally have all of their descendants to my wife now in the database.
thanks a bunch,
Darryl Chapman

PS: I was told that a woman did research on this line (Elijah) and she
wrote a book, but I can't find it, nor do I know her name.
