MAMIE POPE DELAP, 88, of Oliver Springs, died at her home on Monday, July 15,
2002. Born May 31, 1914, in Limestone County, Ala., she was the daughter of
Milton and Mary Dedman Pope. Mrs. Delap was a homemaker. She moved to the
area from Limestone County 60 years ago. Her family said she enjoyed flower
and vegetable gardening and quilting. She was a member of the Ladies
Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. She is survived by her sons,
Carlos Delap of Oliver Springs and Charles Delap and his wife, Stella, of
Stow, Ohio; her daughter, Helen Fuller and her husband, Len, of Oak Ridge;
and four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and
five step-great-grandchildren. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery in Athens,
Ala. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to
Clinch River Home Health Inc., P.O. Box 56, Clinton, TN 37716. The family
will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at Weatherford
Mortuary.
