SYLVIA SATARA MYERS, 91, of Oak Ridge, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at
Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Born June 10, 1911, in Pittsburgh, Pa., she was the daughter of Charles
Reneker Shook and Jennie Ada Middaugh Shook.
Mrs. Myers was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church. She
was also a member of Chapter G of the PEO Sisterhood, The Organizers and The
Arty Group.
She was a longtime volunteer for NHC HealthCare Center and was very involved
with Women for Outreach. Her family said she had a passion for playing
bridge.
Mrs. Myers was the widow of Lester Alman Myers, who died Oct. 3, 1999.
She is survived by her daughters, Leslie Hayden and her husband, J.R. Hayden,
and Sylvia Lynne Turner, all of Paducah, Ky.; her brother, Charles Lawson
Shook of Sarasota, Fla.; three grandchildren, Terry E. Nannie Jr. and his
wife, Julie, of Butler, Pa., Anita Tarae McKinney and her husband, Terry, of
Kuttawa, Ky., and Kara Hutchison and her husband, Lee, of Paducah; and five
great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. Myers was preceded in death
by a brother, Raymond W. Shook.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20, at First United
Methodist Church. The Rev. Bill Mooney will officiate.
The family asks that any memorials be in the form of donations to the
American Cancer Society, Anderson County Unit, c/o Lee Costanzo, 103 Case
Lane, Oak Ridge, TN 37830; or the American Heart Association, Anderson County
Unit, P.O. Box 6014, Oak Ridge, TN 37831.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20, at the
church.
Weatherford Mortuary is handling the arrangements.

LESTER J. KING, 74, of Oak Ridge, died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at Methodist
Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Weatherford Mortuary is handling the arrangements, which were incomplete this
morning.

BARBARA DUNCAN, 45, of Oliver Springs, died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at
Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs is handling the arrangements, which were
incomplete this morning.

RAY D. DAVENPORT, 66, of Oliver Springs, died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at
his home.
