Dr. John Rex Croxall, 85, a former resident of Oak Ridge,
Timmons Scott, 70, of Karns,

Dr. JOHN REX CROXALL, 85, a resident of Hermitage and a former resident of
Oak Ridge, died Friday, June 21, 2002, in Hermitage.
Dr. Croxall received his doctorate from the American University in
Washington, D.C., and his master's and bachelor's degrees from Columbia
University in New York, N.Y.
He was a certified public account, licensed in the states of Ohio and
Tennessee.
After serving as a lieutenant junior grade in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS
Blair, Dr. Croxall had a long career in the federal government including
service as deputy assistant secretary, Finance, at the Department of Health,
Education and Welfare; as director of Financial Management for the National
Aeronautics and Space Administration; and in various accounting management
positions with the Atomic Energy Commission field operations offices.
After he retired from government service, Dr. Croxall began a teaching
career. His teaching positions included Ernst & Ernst visiting professor of
accounting at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio; associate professor and
chairman, Accounting and Finance, at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio;
visiting professor at Chaminade College in Honolulu, Hawaii; and professional
lecturer at the American University, George Washington University and the
University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Weaver Croxall; his sons, Steve Croxall and
his wife, Rita, of Old Hickory, and Mark Croxall of Hermitage; and five
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to Saint
Luke's Community House, 5601 New York Ave., Nashville, TN 37209.
Burial was to be at the Spring Grove Mausoleum in Cincinnati.
TIMMONS SCOTT, 70, of Karns, died Tuesday evening, June 25, 2002, at Fort
Sanders Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.
Mr. Scott was retired from the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant.
He was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Scott is survived by his wife, Shirley Scott; his son, John Scott of
Knoxville, and his former wife, Dedra, of Englewood; his daughter, Donna
Williams of Knoxville; three grandchildren, David Williams, Brittany Williams
and Jonathan Scott; a brother, Merle Scott and his wife, Evelyn, of
Slaughter, Ky.; two sisters, Frances Hulsey and Jo Ann Borum and her husband,
Dwight, all of Slaughter, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews, including a
niece he considered special, Linda Zollinger of Johnson City.
He was preceded in death by another son, Timmons Lee Scott; three other
brothers, Ralph Scott, Joe Scott and Bill Scott; another sister, Rosemary
Husted; and his parents.
The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, June 28, in the chapel of Weaver
Funeral Home, 5815 Western Ave., Knoxville, with the Rev. Mike Ramage
officiating.
Family and friends will assemble at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, June 29, for a 9:30
a.m. graveside service at the Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville.
Members of the Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military
rites.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
