Carolyn Ann Kiser Hanley, 57, of Oak Ridge, died Sunday, June 16, 2002, at
her home with her family at her side.
She was born Aug. 6, 1944, in Sevierville.
Mrs. Hanley was employed with J.C. Penney Co. and retired in 1998.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Her family said she loved
fishing, camping and spending time with her friends, family and especially
her three grandsons.
Mrs. Hanley is survived by her husband of 41 years, Don Hanley; her
daughters, Debora Newman and her husband, Tippy, of Lenoir City, and Donna
Lee Bingham and her husband, Tim, of Clinton; and her grandsons, Bradlee, age
13, Nathan, age 9, and Cory, age 7.
She is also survived by her father, Tilford Leonard Kiser of Oak Ridge; her
brother, Bud Kiser and his wife, Billie, of Madisonville; her nieces, Marilyn
Kiser and Cheryl Kiser, both of Cedartown, Ga.; her brothers-in-law, Jim
Hanley and his wife, Della, Jerry Hanley and his wife, Sue, and Tommy Hanley
and his wife, Carolyn, all of Knoxville, and Larry Leach of Kingston and
nephew, Tony Leach, of Knoxville; her sisters-in-law, Pat Dowdy and her
husband, Dave, of Knoxville and Peggy Wooliver of Jefferson County; and by
several aunts, uncles and other nieces and nephews.
Lyle, Edna and Mary Ballard and Lucy and George Cagley are considered very
special and dear friends of the Hanley family.
Mrs. Hanley's mother, Stella Kiser, died Nov. 11, 2001. Mrs. Hanley was also
preceded in death by a sister, Norma Jean Kiser Leach, who died April 10,
2001.
The funeral will be held at 8 tonight, June 18, in the chapel of Weatherford
Mortuary with the Rev. Steve McDonald officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, at Oak
Ridge Memorial Park.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to Adventa
Hospice, 1420 Dutch Valley Road, Knoxville, TN 37918.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the mortuary.

Leonard E. Hacker, 91, of Oliver Springs, died Sunday, June 16, 2002, at
Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mr. Hacker was considered an expert cobbler and operated Hacker's Shoe Shop
and Repair for 65 years. His family said he will be remembered by many for
repairing their shoes, whether or not they had money. His shoe repair
business often brought people from other states to his shop.
He had also worked for 30 years as a funeral director for the former Booth
Funeral Home in Oliver Springs.
Mr. Hacker was a member of First Baptist Church of Oliver Springs.
His wife of 69 years, Ola Hacker, died earlier.
He is survived by two sons, Ronnie Hacker and Terry Hacker, both of Oliver
Springs; a daughter, Mary Bradshaw of Oliver Springs; a brother, Alex Hacker
of Corpus Christi, Texas; a sister, Sadie Russell of Toledo, Ohio; and by
seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Mr. Hacker considered Mary Blackburn of Oak Ridge, James and Carolyn Kelly of
Oliver Springs, Martin and Onelda McCubbins of Asheville, N.C., and Larry
Duke of Dixon very special friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander
W. and Bertha J. Foster Hacker; his stepmother, Maude Mayton Hacker; four
other brothers, Clerance Hacker, Dan Hacker, Harry Hacker and J.W. Hacker;
three other sisters, Edith Seiber, Lucy Stripling and Velma Schubert; and a
son-in-law, Herbert Bradshaw.
The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at First Baptist
Church of Oliver Springs with the Rev. Tony Rutherford and the Rev. Larry
Duke officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 20, at
Anderson Memorial Gardens, 640 Oliver Springs Highway, Clinton.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to the
Sanctuary Lighting Fund at First Baptist Church, 206 Roane St., Oliver
Springs, TN 37840.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Oliver Springs Mortuary is handling the arrangements.

William Thomas Martin of 309 Merritt St., South Boston, Va., died Monday,
June 17, 2002, at Halifax Regional Hospital in Halifax, Va. He was 80.
Born Feb. 12, 1922, in Halifax County, Va., he was the son of Felix D. Martin
and Mary Powell Martin. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II. His
family said he was a prisoner of war in Normandy and a survivor of the
Grostychow death march. Mr. Martin received four Bronze Stars, a POW medal
and an Air medal.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Millstone, Va., and a member of
American Legion Post No. 8.
Mr. Hacker is survived by his wife, Chrystine Coates Martin; two sisters,
Essie M. Wade of South Boston and Hallie M. Puckett of Nathalie, Va.; his
granddaughter, Amanda Stone of Oak Ridge; and his son-in-law, Gary Stone of
Oak Ridge.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois M.
Stone of Oak Ridge.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, in the chapel of
Powell Funeral Home in South Boston with the Rev. Bob Watts officiating.
Burial will follow at First Baptist Church Cemetery in Millstone with
military rites conducted at the graveside.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight, June 18, at the
funeral home, and at other times at the Hackers' home in South Boston.

Betty Jane Johnson, 70, of Oak Ridge, died Monday, June 17, 2002, at her
home.
Mrs. Johnson had been a longtime resident of Oak Ridge. Her family said she
was a devoted mother and she enjoyed traveling and giving to the community.
She attended Heritage Fellowship Church in Oak Ridge.
She was the widow of Paul Jennings Johnson Jr., who died June 10, 1997.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by two sons, Paul Michael Johnson of Oak Ridge and
Terry Alan Johnson and his wife, Judy, of Nashville; her daughter, Linda
Johnson Finchum and her husband, Roy, of Strawberry Plains; her
granddaughter, Sarai Rachel Johnson of Maynardville; four sisters, Bonnie
Reed of Stuarts Draft, Va., Kay Argenbright and Janet Weller, both of
Staunton, Va., and Geraldine Bedall of Harrisonburg, Va.
Her other relatives include Sue Johnson, Fred and Vickie Stout and Dwight and
Chris Johnson, all of Oak Ridge, Marie Johnson and Mack and Rose Ann
Pemberton, all of Knoxville, Duane and Priscilla Carpenter of Franklin, Lewis
and Patsy Johnson of Lenoir City, and Tom and Joyce Bradford of
Lawrenceville, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
Jo Ann Schofield and Yolanda Poutsma of Oak Ridge were special friends.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her
parents, Charles Weldon Floyd and Ruby Conner Floyd, and a sister, Lorene
Evans.
The funeral will be held at 8 tonight, June 18, in the chapel of Weatherford
Mortuary with the Rev. James Bandy officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, at Oak
Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the mortuary.

Sara Eliza Wilson, 90, of Oak Ridge, died Sunday, June 16, 2002, at NHC
HealthCare of Oak Ridge.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by her husband, Constant Charles "C.C." Wilson.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 20, at
Oliver Springs Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth Johnson officiating.
Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
