HACKER, LEONARD E. - age 91, of Oliver Springs,

HACKER, LEONARD E. - age 91, of Oliver Springs, passed away Sunday, June 16,
2002, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Mr. Hacker was a member of
the First Baptist Church of Oliver Springs. He worked as a Funeral Director
for Booth Funeral Home in Oliver Springs for over 30 years, and operated
Hacker's Shoe Shop and Repair for 65 years. Mr. Hacker was an expert
Shoe-Cobbler and will be remembered by many for fixing their shoes, whether
they had money or not. People would bring shoes from different states to have
them repaired because of his excellent workmanship. Mr. Hacker is preceded in
death by his parents, Alexander W. and Bertha J. Foster Hacker, and his
beloved wife of 69 years, Ola Hacker. He is also preceded in death by his
step mother, Maude Mayton Hacker; four brothers, Clerance Hacker, Dan Hacker,
Harry Hacker, and J. W. Hacker; three sisters, Edith Seiber, Lucy Stripling,
and Velma Schubert, and by a son-in-law, Herbert Bradshaw. Mr. Hacker is
survived by two sons, Ronnie Hacker and Terry Hacker, both of Oliver Springs;
one daughter, Mary Bradshaw of Oliver Springs; one brother, Alex Hacker of
Corpus Christi, Texas, and one sister, Sadie Russell of Toledo, Ohio. Mr.
Hacker is also survived by seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, and
one great-great grandchild. Mr. Hacker considered Mary Blackburn of Oak
Ridge, James and Carolyn Kelly of Oliver Springs, Martin and Onelda McCubbins
of Asheville, North Carolina, and Larry Duke of Dixon, Tenn., as very special
friends. In lieu of flowers, the family request, memorials be made to the
First Baptist Church of Oliver Springs Sanctuary Lighting Fund. The church is
located at 206 Roane Street, Oliver Springs, TN 37840. Funeral service will
be 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2002, at the First Baptist Church of Oliver
Springs with the Rev. Tony Rutherford and Rev. Larry Duke officiating.
Interment will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2002, at Anderson Memorial
Gardens in Clinton. Mr. Hacker's family will receive friends on Wednesday,
June 19, 2002, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Oliver
Springs. Oliver Springs Mortuary, will be handling the arrangements.

HANLEY, CAROLYN ANN KISER - 57, Oak Ridge died June 16, 2002 at her home with
her family at her side. Mrs. Hanley was employed with J.C. Penney Company and
retired in 1998. Preceded in death by sister, Norma Jean Kiser Leach, April
2001; mother, Stella Mae Manning Kiser, November 2001. Survivors include:
father, Tilford Leonard Kiser, Oak Ridge; husband, of 41 years, Don Hanley,
Oak Ridge; daughters, Debora Newman and husband, Tippy, Lenoir City, Donna
Lee Bingham and husband, Tim, Clinton; grandsons, Bradlee, 13 years old,
Nathan, 9 years old, Cory, 7 years old; brother, Bud Kiser and wife, Billie
of Madisonville; nieces, Marilyn and Cheryl Kiser, Cedartown, GA;
brothers-in-law, Larry Leach, Kingston, Jim Hanley and wife, Della Hanley,
Jerry Hanley and wife, Sue, Tommy Hanley and wife, Carolyn; sister-in-law,
Pat Dowdy and husband, Dowdy, all of Knoxville; sister-in-law, Peggy
Wooliver, Jefferson County; nephew, Tony Leach, Knoxville; several aunts,
uncles, nieces, and nephews; very special and dear friends to the Hanley
family are Lyle, Edna, and Mary Ballard Lucy and George Cagley. Funeral
service will be held on Tuesday, 8 PM in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary
with Rev. Steve McDonald officiating. Graveside service will be held on
Wednesday, 11 AM at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Adventa
Hospice, 1420 Dutch Valley Road, Knoxville, TN., 37918. The family will
receive friends Tuesday, 6-8 PM at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge.

JOHNSON, BETTY JANE - 70, Longtime Oak Ridge resident and devoted mother ,
Oak Ridge, passed away at her home on June 17, 2002. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed
traveling and giving to the community. She attended Heritage Fellowship
Church of God in Oak Ridge. Preceded in death by husband, Paul Jennings
Johnson, Jr., June 10, 1997; parents, Charles Weldon Floyd and Ruby Conner
Floyd; sister, Lorene Evans. She is survived by: sons, Terry Alan Johnson and
daughter-in-law, Judy of Nashville, Paul Michael Johnson of Oak Ridge;
daughter, Linda Johnson Finchum and son-in-law, Roy of Strawberry Plains, TN;
granddaughter, Sarai Rachel Johnson, Maynardville, TN; sisters, Bonnie Reed
of Stuarts Draft, VA Kay Argenbright and Janet Weller of Staunton, VA,
Geraldine Bedall of Harrisonburg, VA. She is also survived by relatives: Sue
Johnson of Oak Ridge, Marie Johnson of Knoxville, Duane and Priscilla
Carpenter of Franklin, Lewis and Patsy Johnson of Lenoir City, Tom and Joyce
Bradford of Lawrenceville, GA, Fred and Vickie Stout of Oak Ridge, Dwight and
Chris Johnson of Oak Ridge,
Mack and Rose Ann Pemberton of Knoxville; and several nieces and nephews; Jo
Ann Schofield and Yolanda Poutsma of Oak Ridge were special friends. Funeral
service will be held in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary on Tuesday,
6-18-2002, 8 PM with Rev. James Bandy officiating. Graveside service will be
held on Wednesday, 9:30 AM at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will
receive friends on Tuesday, 6-8 PM at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge.

KAPPELMANN, FREDERICK ALBERT, JR. - age 81 of Oak Ridge died Sunday , June
16, 2002 at the Methodist Medical Center. Veteran of WWII serving with the US
Army. Retired in May 1985 after 41 years with Chem Technology at X-10 where
he was a chemist. Member of the First United Methodist Church, Oak Ridge
Lions Club, and East Tennessee Seniors Golf Association. He is survived by:
his wife, T. Olyne Poindexter Kappelmann, with whom he celebrated their 51st
wedding anniversary last October 14th; son. Frederick A. Kappelmann III of
Oak Ridge; daughter, Linda Karen Satterwhite of Goodlettsville; brother,
Arthur Kappelmann of Santa Barbara, CA; sister, Irene Krumin and husband
Harry of Hollywood, FL and their children, Harold and Debbie; 3
grandchildren, Jeremy Hunter, Kyle Satterwhite and Kiersten Satterwhite, all
of Goodlettsville. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 18, 2002 at 3:00pm
at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Mooney and Rev. Bob
Cantrell, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. The
family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00-3:00pm at the church.

POTTS, BEULAH PEARL - age 90 of Milton, Fla., formerly of LaFollette, Tenn.,
passed away Saturday June 15, 2002 at a local hospital in Milton, Fla. Mrs.
Potts was a member of the Victory Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her
husband, Curtis Potts, Sept. 6, 1980, & daughter, Marjorie Will, Dec. 3,
1992. Survivors: daughter & son in law, Elizabeth & Ray Bolton, LaFollette;
son & daughter in law, Gene & Anna Potts, Milton, Fla.; daughter, Lila Lowe,
Milton, Fla.; son & daughter in law, Bill & Sue Potts, Xenia, Ohio; 18
grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren & 4 great-great grandchildren; sister,
Edith Rogers, Murray City, Ohio; adopted daughter, Tammy & husband, Dewain
Baird LaFollette; and a host of other relatives & friends. Family will
receive friends 2-4 p.m. Wednesday June 19, 2002 Martin Funeral Home Chapel
with graveside services to follow at 4 p.m. Woodlawn Cemetery with Rev. David
Hicks officiating. Martin Wilson Funeral Home LaFollette in charge of the
arrangements.

RHYMER, CLEO WILLOUGHBY - age 77 of LaFollette went to be with the Lord on
Sunday June 16, 2002 at the Lake City Health Care Center. Mrs. Rhymer was of
the Christian faith & a former employee of the LaFollette Hospital for 25
years. Preceded in death by her parents, W. H. & Myrtle Hunter Willoughby; 5
brothers, Claude, Tilmon, Howard, Arthur & George Willoughby; 2 sisters,
Jeanette Lawson & Dollie Willoughby. Survivors: husband, Esco Rhymer,
LaFollette; son, Rodrick "Roddy" Rhymer, LaFollette; son, Danny Rhymer &
wife, Jan of Clinton; sister & brother in law, Lenore & Silas Grant,
LaFollette; 2 grandchildren, Grant & Logan Stephens; several nieces, nephews &
a host of other relatives & friends. Funeral 11 a.m. Wednesday Martin Wilson
Chapel, Pastor Darryll Mefford officiating. Interment to follow Bakers Forge
Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday Martin Wilson Funeral
Home LaFollette.
