PROVINS, WILLIAM "BILL" - 66 of Jellico, Tenn., passed away Saturday, Nov.
3, 2001 at the Jellico Community Hospital. Preceded in death by parents,
Paul & Sallye Teague Provins; sister, Martha June Provins; brother, Paul
Provins, Jr. Survived by: sisters, Anna Provins of Jellico, Tenn., Janice
Brooks of LaFollette, Tenn.; nephews, William Brooks, Paul Provins, III,
Lawrence Provins, all of LaFollette, Tenn.; aunt, Dorothy Bruce of
LaFollette, Tenn. The family will receive friends at the Cox & Son Chapel,
Tuesday, Nov. 6 from 5-7 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 7 p.m. with
Rev. Wayne Hedrick officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10 a.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 7 at the Jellico Cemetery for graveside service and
interment. Cox & Son funeral Home Jellico, Tenn. in charge.
HAYES, MR. ERNEST "DUCK" - age 64, of Vasper, Tennessee, passed away Sunday,
November 4, 2001, at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. He
was born April 7, 1937, in Pioneer, Tennessee. He was a member of Vasper
Missionary Baptist Church. He loved children, his friends and enjoyed
helping people in any way that he could. He is preceded in death by his
parents, Sherman Hayes and Maude Ford Hayes; his brothers, Earl, Eugene, and
Leon Hayes; his sisters, Beatrice Sexton, Lois Baker, Pauline Menis, and
Kathline Cormila. Survivors: brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Anna
Hayes of Vasper, Tennessee, and Walter and Mary Hayes of Knoxville,
Tennessee; sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Jim Walpole of Detroit,
Michigan; sisters, Virgie Waggan of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Edna Boggs of
Clinton , Tennessee, and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2001, at Cox-Martin Funeral
Home. Funeral Service 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2001, following the
visitation in the Cox-Martin Chapel with Reverend Kenny Gilliam officiating.
Interment 2 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2001, at the New Vasper Cemetery.
Cox-Martin Funeral Home, of Lake City, in charge of arrangements.
MARLOW, CHESTER - age 58, of Jacksboro, went home to be with Jesus on
Tuesday, November 6, 2001. He was a member of Beech Fork Baptist Church of
Caryville. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mencie Marlow and sisters,
Juanita and Pauline Marlow. He is survived by wife, Gracie; daughters and
sons-in-law, Wanda and Chad Joyce of Clinton, Donna and Jimmy McKamey of
Caryville, Tammy and Randy Lane of Lake City and Angela and Roby Wray of
Caryville; sons and daughter-in-law, Chester Marlow, Jr. of Jacksboro,
Michael and Evadean Marlow of Caryville; father and step-mother, Allen and
Bertha Marlow of Caryville; six grandchildren, Dustin, Josh, Jesse, Alisa,
Adam and Felicia; sister and brother-in-law, Theda and Thruman McKamey of
Jacksboro; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lester and Ada Marlow of Caryville,
Ralph and Laura Marlow of Caryville; a host of special nieces and nephews,
relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November
8, at Beech Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Phillips, Rev. Ray Ward and
Rev. Leroy Braden officiating. Interment will be in Beech Fork Cemetery. The
family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, at Cross
Funeral Home. The body of Mr. Marlow will be taken to the church at 12:00
noon Thursday. Arrangements by Cross Funeral Home.
