BERTHA ALLEN, 93, of LaFollette, died on Friday, Oct. 12, at the LaFollette
Community Nursing Home. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by husband Willis (Witts) Allen; parents Robert and
Mandy (Riggs) Malicote; daughter Kathleen Chapman; sons Earl and Charles Jr.
Allen.
She is survived by son Robert Allen of Jacksboro; daughter Lousetta Cooper of
Caryville and seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and four
great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday, Oct.13, at Cross Chapel with Rev. Howard Tapp
and Rev. Sonny Longmire officiating. Interment was in Bakers Forge Cemetery.

ROY BRYANT, 83, of Harrogate, died on Oct. 9 at his home. He was a member of
Shipley Grove Church of God and later attended Shawanee Baptist Church. He
served as Claiborne County Commissioner from 1982-1986. he was a 50 year
member and Past Master of Shawanee Masonic Lodge #546 F& AM, and member and
Past Patron of Shawanee Chapter#436 OES and He was a carpenter and contractor
by trade, having built many homes and commercial buildings in the area.
He is preceded in death by his parents Baxter and Pearlie Bryant; brothers
Ray and sisters Sally Davis and Mammie Evans.
He is survived by wife Martha V. Oaks; sons Dean Bryant of Fort Worth, Texas
Roy C. Bryant of Harrogate and two grandchildren, one great-grandson, all of
Hot Springs, Ark; sisters Flora Phillips, Hazel Heck of Cumberland Gap, Tenn.
Funeral services were Friday, Oct. 12, with Masonic Service at Reece Valley
Chapel. Music will be provided by the Lawson Family. Interment was at the
Harrogate Cemetery.

EDD FORD, 87, of Pioneer, died on Friday, Oct. 12 at Jellico Community
Hospital.
He is preceded in death by wife Wilma Ford; daughters Bonnie Gail (Ford)
Norman, Lottie Bell, Alice Ann and Gertrude; sons Macarthur and J. Dorlin.
He is survived by wife Sarah Ellen (Bolton) Ford of Pioneer; sons Chester
Ford of LaFollette, Carl Ford of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughter Wanda Lowe
of Williamsburg, Ky (formerly of Elk Valley); step-daughter Linda Hanley of
LaFollette and six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two
great-great-grandchildren and four step-grandchildren; brother Sterling Ford
of Chaska, Tenn.
Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 15, at Elk Valley Church of God with Rev.
Danny Moses and Rev. Euliss Cox officiating. Interment was in the Valleyview
Cemetery.

THELMA REESE GAYLOR, 80, of LaFollette, died on Friday, Oct. 12, at St.
Mary's Hospital of Knoxville. She was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by husband Allen Gaylor; parents Sam and Mary
(Smith) Reese.
She is survived by son James Gaylor of LaFollette, step-son Allen Gaylor of
Gordonsville, Va., daughters Carolyn Hatmaker and Valerie, all of LaFollette
and four grandchildren and four-great-grandchildren; sister Beatrice.
Funeral services were Sunday, Oct. 14, at Cross Chapel with Rev. Delmus Bruce
and Rev. Norman Stallings officiating. Interment was in the Campbell County
Memorial Gardens.

MARY ELLEN GREEN, 66, of Duff, died on Thursday, Oct. 11, at Jellico
Community Hospital.
She was preceded in death by son Audie Green of Little White Oak; daughter
Linda Green of White Oak; sister Reba Wilson of Jacksboro.
Funeral services were Sunday, Oct. 14, at Little White Oak Baptist Church
with Rev. Jerry Pittman and Rev. Dennis Pittman officiating. Interment was in
the Bolton-Campbell Cemetery.

ETTA LEWALLEN, 86, of Jellico, died on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at her home.
She is survived by son, Jesse Junior Jeffers of London, Ky.; daughters Opal
Shubert of Independence, Ky., Lorine Givens of Dalton, Ga., Nola Faye Day of
Newcomb, Novella Norris of Walthourville, Ga., Helen Smith, Bonnie Ivey, and
Vickie Carroll, all of Jellico; 27 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and
three great-great-grandchildren; sister Ethel Davis of Pine Knot, Ky.
Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 15, at Elk Valley Church of God with Rev.
Ronnie Jeffers officiating. Interment was in the Valleyview Cemetery.

MYRTLE ALMA ROBERTS RUTHERFORD, 89, of LaFollette, died on Sunday, Oct. 14 at
LaFollette Nursing Home.
She is preceded in death by husband James Everette Rutherford; daughter Wilma
Jean Rutherford Kitts; one granddaughter; parents Joel and Tennie Roberts;
brothers Oscar, Charles, and Edgar Roberts; sisters Pauline Roberts, Virginia
James, Marie Jeffers and Laura Ray.
She is survived by daughter Evelyn Bernice Huddleston of White Oak; three
granddaughters, four grandsons, and 10 great-grandchildren; sister Louise
Shepherd and brothers Paul Roberts, Louie Roberts and Earl Roberts.
Funeral services were at Walters Chapel with Rev. Timothy Paul Muse and Rev.
Harry James and Rev. Pat Ayers officiating. Interment was in the Peabody
Cemetery.

BLANCH SHARP, 74, of Harper Woods, Mich., formerly of LaFollette, died on
Aug. 15. She was a member of the Garden City Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by parents W.D. and Martha Bell Cordell Sharp;
brothers Rupert, Nathan, and Alton Sharp; sisters Azalee Bolton, Virgie Ball,
Lucretta Sharp, Trula Sharp and Minnie Sharp.
She is survived by sisters Mary V. Cupp of Madison of Hghts, Mich. and Betty
L. O'Neal of Harper Wood, Mich.
Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 13, with Rev. Ralph Cordell officiating.
Interment was in the Baker's Forge Cemetery.

MILLAED PARRIS SHARP, 80, of Norris, died on Thursday, Oct. 11, at the
Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was a member and deacon of New Home
Baptist Church and was a Veteran of U.S. Army having served in W.W.II.
He was preceded in death by his parents Alvis and Carrie Hartley Sharp.
He is survived by wife Helen Golden Sharp of Norris; sons James Paul Sharp of
Lake City, Rev. Robert Larry Sharp of Norris, Jack Lynn Sharp of Norris;
daughters Wanda Sue Sharp of Clinton, Dorothy Diane of Norris, Carrie
Angeline Campbell of Heiskell; brother Hubert Sharp of Norris and 14
grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 13, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in
Lake City with the Rev. Charlie Mack Marlowe officiating. Interment was in
New Home Cemetery in Andersonville.

GEORGIA LOUISE SHEPARD, 65, of LaFollette, died on Monday, Oct. 15, at her
home. She was a member of the Rock Creek Community Church.
She was preceded in death by parents Joel and Tennie Lay Roberts; brothers
Oscar Charles and Edgar Roberts; sisters Pauline Roberts, Virginia James,
Marie Jeffers, Laura Ray and Myrtle Alma Rutherford.
She is survived by husband Jack Shepard of LaFollette; son Jackie Ray of
Powell; daughters Dr. Caroline, Teresa Elaine Shepard West, all of
LaFollette; brothers Paul Roberts, Louise, Earl Roberts, all of LaFollette
and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Chairty Worship Center with
Rev. Harry James and Rev. Wade Walls officiating. Interment was in the
Campbell County Memorial Gardens.

BONNIE LEE BAKER SIZEMORE, 74, of Pardee, Va., died on Oct. 11 at her home.
She is preceded in death by her husband James Logan Sizemore; parents Jim and
Louisa Collins Baker.
She is survived by daughters Linda Bowling of Hazard, Ky.; Sharon Sizemore of
Arthur, Tenn.; Cheryl Baker, Carol Heitzman, and Kimberly Puckett, all of
Middletown, Ohio; sons James Sizemore, Paul Sizemore and Lloyd Sizemore, all
of Middletown, Ohio and 22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren;
half-sister Lizzie Suddard of Mississippi.
Funeral services were at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home. Interment
was in the Highland Cemetery.

CHARLES FRED WORTHAM, 66, of Jellico, died on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at the Baptist
Medical Center of Knoxville.
He was preceded in death by parents Charlie and Ola Williams Wortham.
He is survived by wife Ruth Siddall Wortham of Jellico; daughters Dixie
Lawson of Duff, Brenda Shellings of Harriman, Connie Clagg of Oak Ridge,
Angle Hale of Oliver Springs; adopted daughter Amy Hackler of LaFollette; son
Eddie Wortham; sister Pauline Morris, Betty Lou Grisham of Knoxville, Irene
Brooks of Jellico, Maudie Rutherford of Corbin, Ky., Hazel Hurbale of
LaFollette, Jessie Ayers of Elk Valley; brother Roy Wortham of Jellico and
nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were Thursday, Oct. 11, at the Cox and Son Chapel with Rev.
Jerome Walden and Rev. Don Lay officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family
requests that memorials be given to the American Heart Association.

DOROTHY JEAN DOUGLAS POPHAM WITT, age 71, of Kettering, OH, formerly of
Jellico, TN passed away Friday, October 13, 2001 in Kettering, OH. She
graduated High School in Jellico and attended Cumberland College for 1 1/2
years. She worked in Dayton, G.M. plant for 12 1/2 years. She was also a
beautician. She was a member of Miamisburg Full Gospel Tabernacle.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Orie Witt Sr. And Russell Popham
Sr.; father, Marshall (Boxie) Douglas and mother, Mossie Douglas Hamilton. 2
brothers, J. B. Douglas and Carl Edward Douglas. 2 grandmothers, Martha
Downs, and Mary Douglas. 1 nephew, Terry Douglas and 1 niece, Soyna Douglas;
1 step-grandson, Timmy Popham.
Dorothy is survived by 2 daughters, Zora Popham Cameron of Knoxville and
Teresa Popham Mitchell of Dayton, OH; 1 sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and
John E. Edwards of LaFollette; 4 nephews, Larry Edwards of LaFollette; Jerry
and Jim Douglas of California; Mike Douglas of Jacksboro; 1 stepson and wife,
Russell Jr. And Cheryl Popham of Fairborn, OH; 1 step grandson, Kristofor
Popham of Fairborn, OH; 4 nieces, Shirley Conro of CA; Shelly Douglas of
Nashville, Tammy Elliot of Jellico; Carla Douglas of Williamsburg, KY; 6
grandchildren, Russanne, Courtney, Stephanie Mitchell of W. VA. Britt
Mitchell of W. VA; Lora Lowe and Shannon Cameron of Knoxville; 3 great
grandchildren, DA Marcus, Sean and Dakira Lowe of Knoxville; 3 great grand

Funeral Services will be 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2001 in the chapel of
Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Lonnie Mitchell officiating. Interment
will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 18, 2001 in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family
will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday night before Funeral Services.
