CAMPBELL, CLAUDE, JR. - age 76, born October 17, 1925, in Frost Bottom,
Tenn., went home to be with Jesus on his 76th birthday. Mr. Campbell was a
member of the Calvary's Temple Worship Center. Mr. Campbell was a Seaman
Second Class in the United States Navy, where he received the Purple Heart
Medal, Philippine Lieration Ribbon with two Bronze Stars, and the
Asiatic-Pacific Area Ribbon with three Bronze Stars. Mr. Campbell entered the
service on December 22, 1943, and was Honorably Discharged on June 7, 1946.
Mr. Campbell is preceded in death by his parents, Claude R. Campbell and
Joann Duncan Campbell, and a brother, Raymond Campbell. Mr. Campbell is
survived by a son, Dennis Campbell and his wife, Wanda of Miamisburg, Ohio;
two daughters, Deborah Legg and husband Carl of Ona, West Virginia, and
Virginia Gue and husband Steven of Salt Rock, West Virginia. One brother,
Meredith H. Campbell and his wife, Geneva of Clinton, and one sister, Martha
B. Seiber of Oliver Springs. Mr. Campbell is survived by his six
grandchildren, Aaron Campbell, Jason Campbell, Shasta Campbell, Stephanie
Lancaster, Candace Gue and Wesley Gue. Mr. Campbell is survived by three
great-grandchildren, Clay Campbell, Zachary Lancaster and Brittany Lancaster.
Mr. Campbell is survived by a special niece, Linda Pride. Alice Singletary
was considered a special friend. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Friday,
October 19, 2001, at the Oliver Springs Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Tim
Bradshaw officiating. Interment will be at the Anderson Memorial Gardens on
Saturday, October 20, at 11 a.m. with Military Honors. The family will
receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Oliver Springs Mortuary. The
Oliver Springs Mortuary, located at 717 Main Street, will be in charge of the
arrangements.

CHAMBERS, BOB K. - age 87, of Lake City, Tenn., passed away Wednesday,
October 17, 2001 at his residence. He was born March 20, 1914 in Carthage,
Tenn. Bob was an Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Longfield
Baptist Church. He was a 32nd Degree Mason member of Coal Creek Masonic Lodge
#492 and Scottish Rite in Knoxville, Tenn. He was a retired iron worker in
the Local #384. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Dowlen Chambers;
and parents, Albert & Clemmie Beasley Chambers. Survivors: son, Larry
Chambers, Lake City; sister in law, Pauline Sharp, Lake City; nephews, Johnny
Sharp, Lake City, Rufus Wright & wife, Margaret; niece, Kathy Dowlen Baird,
Lake City; great nephews, Brandon Baird, Chris Baird, & Justin M. Sharp;
special friends, Max Underwood, Everette Stooksbury, Charles Stevens, Buck
Willis; very special friend, Rev. Henry Hensley. Visitation, 6-8 p.m. Friday,
October 19, 2001 at the Cox-Martin Funeral Home. Funeral service 8 p.m.
Friday, October 19, 2001 in the Cox-Martin Chapel, with Rev. Paul Wilson,
Rev. Willie Aikens, Rev. Harvey Sherlin and Rev. Mitch Walker officiating.
Interment 11 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2001 at the Woodlawn Cemetery,
LaFollette, Tenn. Cox-Martin Funeral Home of Lake City, Tenn. in charge of
arrangements.

HORTON, DAVID K. - age 42, of Clinton, Tenn., formerly of Lake City, Tenn.,
passed away Thursday, October 18, 2001, at his residence. He was born
September 15, 1959, in Anderson County, Tenn. David was a graduate of the
Lake City High School and the University of Tennessee. He was a life long
member of the Lake City United Methodist Church. He enjoyed being an active
member of the Smoky Mountain Pontiac Club of Knoxville. David was an employee
for the American General Insurance Company. He is preceded in death by his
father, Milo A. Horton. Survivors: wife, Shirley Horton; step daughter, Amy
Smith and husband, Joe; mother, Jean Horton; sister, Judy Holden and husband,
Darrell; brothers, Jim Horton and wife, Karen, and George F. Horton and wife,
Fannie Jane; nephews, Jesse Horton, Jeremy Horton and wife, Mindy, James
Horton, and Joshua Holden; nieces, Julia Horton, Jana Horton, and Chrissa
Holden; mother-in-law, Ruth Stooksbury; sister-in-law, Joyce and husband, Jim
Overton; niece, Karen Overton and nephew, Eric Overton and wife, Nichole, and
a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Saturday, October
20, 2001, at the Lake City United Methodist Church. Memorial Service 8 p.m.
Saturday, October 20, 2001, at the Lake City United Methodist Church with
Rev. Brenda Poole and Rev. Sam Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers,
memorial donations may be made to the Lake City United Methodist Church, P.
O. Box 406, Lake City, TN 37769. Cox-Martin Funeral Home, of Lake City,
Tenn., in charge of arrangements.

HUCKABY, MILDRED BURNETTE - age 88, of Clinton, passed away Wednesday,
October 17, 2001, at Mariner Health Care Center of Norris. She was a member
of Grace Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Homer Huckaby; son,
Bobby Huckaby; daughter, Betty Thomas; sisters, Ruby O'Dell and Mary Hatcher;
brother, Ted Burnette. Mildred was born February 4, 1913, in Sullivan County,
Tennessee. Survivors: sons, Roy Huckaby and wife, Connie of Seymour, Ronnie
Huckaby and wife, Shelley of Tampa, Fla., and Carl Huckaby and wife, Brenda
of Clinton; sister, Nell Clanton of Knoxville; son-in-law, Rev. William
Thomas of Clinton; 13 grandchildren; several great and great-great
grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive
friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday, October 20, 2001, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in
Clinton, with funeral service following at 8 p.m., in the Chapel with Rev.
Donnie Wallace officiating. Interment will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at
Lynch-Bethel Cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, of Clinton, in charge of
all arrangements.

ROBBINS, EMMA HUBE KAHLER - age 89 of LaFollette, Tenn., formerly of
Baltimore, Maryland, passed away Wednesday October 17, 2001 at St. Mary's
Medical Center of Campbell County. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual
Help Catholic Church in LaFollette. She was preceded in death by her first
husband, William Kahler; son, William Kahler, II; and brother, William Hube.
Survivors: husband, Ellis C. Robbins of LaFollette; step son, Ellis C.
(Chuckie) Robbins and wife, Sandy of Peoria, Ill.; daughters in law, Margaret
(Peg) Kahler of Johnstown, Penn.; sister, Irene Wiedecker of Deltona, Fla.;
four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and four great grandchildren;
several other relatives and friends. Funeral Mass Saturday 2 p.m. at Our Lady
of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Greg Neuzil officiating.
Interment Bakers Forge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8
p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Walters Funeral
Home, LaFollette, in charge of arrangements.
