KENNETH RAY EFFERSON, 67, of Kingston, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, at his
home.
Born April 1, 1934, in Baton Rouge, La., he was the son of George McKinney
Efferson and Esther McLin Efferson, who are deceased. He was a U.S. Air Force
veteran.
Mr. Efferson joined American Magnetics in 1972 as vice president and was
currently president and owner of the company.
He was a member of the Windrock ATV Club and the Cumberland Offroad
Association.
Mr. Efferson is survived by his wife, Marilyn Walsworth Efferson; three sons,
Ronald W. Efferson of Lenoir City, Randy K. Efferson and his wife, Melody, of
Sumter, S.C., and Roger M. Efferson and his wife, Becky, of Harriman; a
brother, Larry G. Efferson; a brother-in-law, Sonny Walsworth and his wife,
Emma Sue; and a sister-in-law, Jerry Day and her husband, Archie T., all of
Baton Rouge, La; and three grandchildren, Elizabeth Efferson of Sumter, and
Rodney Efferson and Ray Efferson, both of Harriman.
The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, in the chapel of
Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Chris Stephens officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Oak Ridge
Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
JEAN HENSLEY WILSON, 69, of Oliver Springs, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, at
Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Born Dec. 29, 1931, in the Windrock community of Morgan County, she was the
daughter of Lonas and Zella Nelson Hensley, who are deceased.
Mrs. Wilson was a domestic engineer, according to her family. She was a
member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Oliver Springs where she worked with
the Bible printing ministry.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Clifton E. "Bud" Wilson; two
sons, Gary Wilson of Oliver Springs and Ronnie Wilson and his wife, Suzanne,
of Knoxville; a daughter, Debbie Wilson of Oliver Springs; two brothers, Carl
Hensley of Fairfax County, Va., and James R. Hensley of Oliver Springs; a
sister, Betty Brackett of Harriman; three grandchildren, Rachel Wilson and
Jennifer Holbert and her husband, Kevin, all of Knoxville, and Bekah Wilson
of Lenoir City; two great-grandchildren, Phillip Ingram and Christian
Holbert, both of Knoxville; one step-great-grandchild, Courtney Holbert; and
several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by another son,
Scott Anthony Wilson, and another sister, Evelyn Hensley Golden.
The funeral was to be held at 1 this afternoon, Oct. 10, at Mount Pisgah
Baptist Church with the Rev. Garvan Walls and the Rev. Keith Price
officiating.
Burial was to follow at the church cemetery.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to Mount
Pisgah Baptist Church, Bible Printing Ministry, P.O. Box 341, Oliver Springs,
TN, 37840.
Weatherford Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
