CARSON, JOHN L. - age 49, of Kingsport, formerly of Caryville, passed away
Monday, September 10, 2001, in Kingsport. He was a Christian and a retired
mechanic. Survivors: wife, Helen Carson; son, John Lee Carson; daughters,
Crystal Carson and Jessica Marcus; grandchildren, Jacob Carson, Destiny
Parker and Alexous Marcus; parents, Dee and Nannie Ipox Carson of Caryville;
brother, Timbo Carson, and sisters, Hazel Wolf and Melissa Huckaby. Funeral
service 8 p.m. Wednesday, Cross Chapel, Rev. Jobby Byrge officiating. Family
and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday at Beech Fork Cemetery for
Interment service. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at
Cross Funeral Home.
HAMMOCK, EMMA JEAN - age 76, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, September 11,
2001 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was a member of Hillvale Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by husband, Rev. Clarence Hammock; parents, Rufus L. and
Florence Eliphorpe Chidester; son, Jack L. Hammock; brothers, Leslie, Roy,
George and Charlie Chidester; sisters, Mary and Doris King. Survivors: son,
Robert Allen Hammock and wife, Judy, of Camas, Washington; daughters, Doris
Fay Sexton of Dalton, Georgia, Betty Carden and husband, Benny, of Norris,
Diana Sue Lewis and husband, Mike, of Clinton; daughter-in-law, Ann Hammock
of Norris; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren. Cremains will be buried
at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given
to The Tennessee Children's Home in care of Norris First Baptist Church, P.O.
Box 340, Norris, TN 37828. Holly-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton in charge of
all arrangements.
