BUTCHER, C.J. - age 82, died Friday, August 17, 2001 at the Grapeland Nursing
Center in Grapeland, TX, following a lengthy illness. He was born May 16,
1919 in Clinton, Tenn. The son of Charles J. and Willie H. Butcher. He served
in the US Coast Guard, on the ship US Randall during World War II. He worked
at the Magnet Mill and Jones & Butcher Cabinet Shop in Clinton for many
years, and as a tax preparer in TX. He and his wife moved to TX in the late
60's. Survivors: wife, Nancy Fritts Butcher; sister and brother in law,
Armistine and Ernest Shepherd; niece, Susan Horne; nephew, David Shepherd;
great nieces, Allison and Kelsey, all of Knoxville. there will be a
celebration of life at a later date.

GOLDEN, HOBART LEE - age 86 of Clinton, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2001
at St. Mary's Hospital. He retired from Union Carbide and was a supervisor at
Y-12 for 34 years. He attended South Clinton Baptist Church. Preceded in
death by parents, James C. & Martha Massengill Golden; son, Stanley M.
Golden; brothers, Charlie, Clarence, Gid, Dave, Harve and Cecil Golden;
sisters, Stella Starke, Bertha McKamey and Naomi Cox. Survivors: wife of 63
years, Lois Mitchell Golden of Clinton; daughters, Karen & husband, Wayne
Cary of Marshall, TX, Pam & husband, Joe Rainey of Clinton; grandchildren,
Gina & husband, Kenny Raby of Clinton, Kristy & husband, Jamie Rouillard of
Lexington, SC, Christopher & wife, Nikki Cary of Naperville, Ill., Brian Cary
of Marshall, TX.; great grandchildren, Jennifer Raby, Nicholas Raby and
Morgan Cary; brother, Leon Golden & wife, Delores of Clinton; sisters in law,
Louise Golden of Clinton, Alma Golden of Lake City, Mary Havens of Clinton,
Liz & husband, Gene Lumbert of Heiskell; brother in law, J.C. Mitchell &
wife, Sue of Andersonville; special friends, Martha Fellers of Clinton, Jim
Fellers of Powell, Bob & wife, Jo Ann Williams of Claxton, friends at South
Clinton Baptist Church. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday,
August 26, 2001 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with funeral services following
at 8 p.m. with Rev. Larry Potter & Rev. Don Thomas officiating. The interment
will be 10:30 a.m. at Bethel Cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton
in charge of all arrangements.
