JACKSON, ETHEL - age 91, of Englewood, Ohio, formerly of LaFollette, passed
away Wednesday, August 15, 2001, at the Englewood Nursing Home. She was a
member of First Independent Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband,
General Jackson; sons, Hershel Jackson, Eddie Fox, and Michael Fife;
daughter, Phyllis Jackson; parents, Joe and Margaret Hubbard Smith; sister,
Bea Godfrey; brothers, Bill Hubbard, Ray Huddleston, Earl Huddleston, and
Everett Smith. Survived by daughters, Evelyn Vespie of Brookville, Ohio,
Verda Letner of LaFollette, Beatrice Thies of Dayton, Ohio, Barbara Cornett
of Evarts, Ky.; 17 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren; sister,
Pearl Coffey of LaFollette, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services 11 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2001, in the Chapel of Martin
Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Ellison and Rev. Carl Edwards
officiating. Interment will follow in Campbell Memorial Gardens. The family
will receive friends Friday, August 17, 2001, from 6-8 p.m. in the Chapel of
Martin Wilson Funeral Home. Martin Wilson Funeral Home, of LaFollette, in
charge of arrangements.
LONG, STEPHEN THOMAS, JR. - age 65, of Clinton passed away Friday, August 17,
2001 at the Methodist Medical Center. He was a member of Black Oak Baptist
Church. He was Staff Sergeant with the Tennessee Army National Guard for 38
years. Preceded in death by parents, Stephen T. Long, Sr. & Elizabeth
Spessard Long. He was born September 27, 1935 in Anderson County. Survivors:
aunts, Edna Long, Virginia Long & Beulah Long, all of Clinton; several
cousins. The family will receive friends 1-3 p.m. Sunday August 19, 2001 at
Holley-Gamble Funeral home in Clinton with funeral service following at 3
p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Joe Bridges officiating. Interment will follow
the service at Black Oak Cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home of Clinton in
charge of all arrangements.
MILLER, ALLEN - age 44, of Clinton passed away Friday, August 17, 2001 at the
Baptist Hospital in Knoxville. Arrangements were incomplete at press time but
will be announced later by Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton.
