PHILLIPS, GEORGE RAYMOND "RAY" - age 81, formerly of Clinton, passed away
Tuesday, August 14, 2001, at the Briarcliff Health Care Center in Oak Ridge.
He was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Russ Engineering in Oak Ridge.
Preceded in death by wife, Elizabeth Phillips; parents, Inman and Cressie
West Phillips; grandson, Michael Ray Foust, and several sisters and brothers.
Ray was born December 31, 1919, in Perry County, Kentucky. Survivors:
daughter, Carolyn Bradley and husband Richard of Clinton; sons, Carl E. Foust
and wife Doris of Knoxville, and Fred Foust and wife Norma of Kirkland,
Wash.; grandchildren, John C. Foust, Fred Foust, Carla Foust and Phillip
Bradley; six great-grandchildren; sister, Inzia Provenzia and husband John of
Knoxville; brother, Conway Phillips and wife Peggy of Dayton, Ohio, and
special niece, Kelli Dahl of Knoxville. The family will receive friends 6-8
p.m. Friday, August 17, 2001, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with
funeral service following at 8 p.m. in the Chapel with Rev. Fred Long, Jr.
officiating. Interment will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Cemetery.
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, of Clinton, in charge of all arrangements.
