LYDIA M. ANDERSON, 73, of Jacksboro, died on Friday July 20 at St. Mary's
Medical Center of Campbell County. She was a member of the Mt. Paran Baptist
Church.
She was preceded in death by husband General Anderson parents Edgar L. and
Bertha Ayers Kidwell Sr.; brothers Ernest Kidwell, George Kidwell, and Oscar
Kidwell; sisters Georgia, Marie, and Edith Kidwell.
She was survived by son David Anderson of Jacksboro; daughters Anita Price of
Knoxville Wilma Martin of LaFollette; and sister Mable Hatmaker of Jacksboro,
and brothers James and Edgar L. Kidwell Jr. both of Jacksboro.
Funeral Services were Sunday, July 22 in the Martin Wilson Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Bobby Ray Wilson and Rev. Don Allen officiating. Interment
was Monday in Mt. Paran Cemetery.

STANLEY BRASSFIELD, 76, of LaFollette, died Wednesday, July 25, at his home.
He was an member of Fundamental Missionary Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge
in Arcanum, Ohio. He was a owner of Stan's Electric over for 30 years and a
U.S. Navy veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Della Irence (Cooper) Brassfield
He is survived by daughters Jo Miller and Judy Ann Nelson of LaFollette; sons
Danny Brassfield of Caryville and Ray Brassfield of LaFollette; brothers A.J.
Brassfield of Michigan; sister Dorothy Ayers of Washington; several
grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
The funeral services were Friday, July 27, at Cross Funeral Home with Rev.
Larry Russell, Rev. Bill Hutson and Rev. Terry Sweat officiating. Interment
was Saturday, July 28, at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Cross Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
LUTHER DODSON , 75, of Lake City, died Thursday, July 26, at Methodist
Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was a deacon at Cumberland Mountain Baptist
Church. He sang with The Dodson Family Gospel Singers
He was preceded in death by parents Willie and Carrie Dodson, sisters Omie
and Mary and brother Orville Dodson.
He is survived by wife Anna Mae Dodson of Lake City; daughters Anna
Stephenson of Mississippi; Millie Huddleston of Lake City, Jamie Casebier of
Clinton, Lisa Coker of Oklahome and Loria Blouin of New Hampshite sons Norman
Dodson of Lebanon, Tenn., Joe Dodson of Lake City, Mark Dodson of Lebanon,
Tenn.; brothers Elmer Dodson of Lake City, and Gertrude Scarbrough of Lake
City. and several grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.
Funeral services were on Friday, July 27, at Cox Martin Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Curtis Nolan officiating. Interment was Saturday at Beech Grove
Cemetery.

JAMES HARVE GOLDEN, 90, of Lake City, died Tuesday, July 24, at Baptist
Hospital of Knoxville. He was a member of Island Ford Baptist Church and was
a retired welder from Rust Engineering.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Martha Golden, and several
brothers and sisters
He is survived by wife Alma Bennett Golden of Lake City; daughters Ann Vowell
of Clinton, Jeanne Carden, Kathy Dugger, Becky James, all of Lake City; sons
Jimmy Golden of Independence, Ky., Joe Mac Golden of Goshen, Ohio, and Terry
Golden of Clinton; brothers Leon Golden and Hobert Golden, of Clinton and
several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The funeral services were held Wednesday, July 25, at the Holley Gamble
Funeral Home in Lake City with Rev. Charles Harness and Rev. Rick Teague
officiating. Interment was at Island Ford Baptist Church Cemetery.

EMMALINE ROSE HURST, 92, of Barnwell, S.C., died Sunday, July 29 at her
residence. She was a member of the Kentucky Hill Baptist Church of Jellico .
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Madison and Clementine
Hatfield Rose; husband Elbert L. Hurst; sons Carlson Hurst and Sterling Hodge
Hurst; brothers Jonathan Rose, Frank Rose and Willam Rose; sisters Eliza Jane
Rose Hurst and granddaughter Mancene Hurst.
She survived by daughters Thelma Lee Cobb of Morrow, Ohio, and Emma Jane
Hurst of Summerville, S.C.; sons George Hurst, and Jess William Hurst both of
Barnwell, S.C.; adopted daughters Betty Weiss, Charice Roberts and Gwendolyn
Hoskins, all of Barnwell, S.C.; several grandchildren and great-grand
children.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, at 11 a.m. Aug 2 at Kentucky Hill
Baptist Church in Jellico Tenn. with Rev. Eldin Hurst, Rev. Chalrence Teague,
and Rev. Willie Partin officiating. Interment will be at Douglas Cemetery.

NELLIE MAPLES, 86, of Knoxville, died Thursday, July 26, at UT Hospital. She
was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Clinton.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arburth Maples; daughter Ethel Marie
Maples; son George Leroy Maples; parents John and Bertie Golden; sisters Edna
Logan, Jessie Poore, Wilma Jean Bailey, and Alice Boshears and brother Johnny
Golden.
She is survived by her daughter, Caroline Maples of Knoxville Tenn.; sisters
Margaret Leinart of Briceville, Ruth Sharp of Clinton Tenn.; Katherine Sharp
of Clinton.
Funeral services were Saturday, July 28, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home in the
chapel with Rev. Larry Sharp officiating. Interment was at Blowing Springs
Cemetery in Clinton.

ORVILLE PARROTT, 64, of Newport Ky., formerly of Clairfield, died Saturday,
July 28, at St. Luke East Hospital, Ft. Thomas, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Parrott; sister Shirley
Marlow; brothers Johnny Parrott and Bill Parrott.
He is survived by wife, Virginia Humphrey Parrott of Newport, Ky; mother
Virginia Humphrey Parrott of Newport, Ky.; sons David Parrott of Cold Spring,
Ky.; Edward Parrott of Alexander, Ky.; Greg Parrott of Cincinnati, Ohio;
sisters Kathy Rogers and Janice Osborne, both of LaFollette; Judy Davis of
Clairfield; Jackie Waldroop of Florence, Ky.; brothers Charles Parrott of
Powell ; R.L. Parrott of Bellevue Ky.; Ken Parrott of Centerville, Oh.
The funeral services were Tuesday, July 31, at Cox and Son Chapel, with Rev.
Danny King officiating. Interment was in the Douglas Cemetery.

JAMES CLARENCE RECTOR, 88, of LaFollette died Wednesday, July 25, at Lake
City Health Care Center He was a deacon of the Indiana Avenue Baptist Church.
He was a retired coal miner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Russell and Parzida Byrd
Rector and wife Cecil Vann Rector.
He is survived by son William D. Rector of Tampa Fl.; daughter Joan Jeffers
of LaFollette sisters Grace Marcum, Oma Jordan of Huntsville, Pearl Hatfield
of Alcoa, Glenn Gibson of Greenville, Pauline Byrd of Chattanooga, Cloene
Adkins of Dayton, Ohio; brother Emest Rector of Huntsville.
Funeral services were Friday, July 27, at Martin Wilson Funeral Home with
Rev. David Shepherd officiating. Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery.

SISTER MARY ELIZABETH RINEY, 90, of Louisville, Ky., died Monday, July 30, at
St. Mary's Hospital of Knoxville. After teaching at Knoxville Catholic High
School, Sister Elizabeth became registrar at Our Lady of Cincinnati College
in 1959 and later registrar of Edgecliff College, also in Cincinnati. She
retired to Knoxville in 1977 as chaplain for St. Mary's Health System. She
later was named director of sponsorship prior to her current position as
senior vice president for corporate mission.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Manuel Riney;
brother, John M. Riney Jr.
She is survived by sisters Patricia R. Green, Mildred Le Riney, and Mary R.
Arrowsmith.
Funeral mass was held Wednesday at Holy Ghost Catholic Church with Bishop
Joseph Kurtz and Father William Gahagan, homilist, officiating along with
other clergy. Administrative staff of St. Mary's Health System will serve as
Honor Guard for services. Funeral mass in Nashville will be at 10 a.m. CST
Thursday followed by Christian burial at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of
flowers, it is requested that memorials be made to Sister Elizabeth's Mercy
Fund, 900 E. Oak Hill Ave., Knoxville, TN 37917

MILLARD HENRY (Buddy) WRIGHT, 61, of Jacksboro, died Tuesday, July 3, at his
home. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jacksboro and a member of
Jacksboro Masonic Lodge No. 322 F& A.M. He was a 26year veteran of Commercial
Vehicle Enforcement State of Tennessee,for the veteran of the U.S. Navy and a
former Boy Scout Leader.
He is preceded in death by father Millard Henry Wright Sr.
He was survived by wife Janet Thomas Wright of Jacksboro; sons Brian Wright
of Jacksboro and Alan M. Wright of Clinton ; daughter Gina Pierce of
Knoxville; mother Flossie Wright of Jacksboro; brother David Wright of
Louisville, Ky.; and sisters Katherine Alexander of Jacksboro, Frances Petree
of Ohio, and Judy Williams of Jacksboro. several grandchildren.
Funeral services were Thursday, July 5, at First Baptist Church of Jacksboro
with Rev. Charles Parker officiating.
Cross Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
